Home is clean, has every item you could possibly need. Gated community means it is quiet, not chaotic. Home has beautiful views and is close to many restaurants, entertainment and the harbor (we are scuba divers).

This home was wonderful and true to the description. The communication couldn’t have been better and responses were very quick. We had an issue with the AC and it was resolved that day. We loved how spacious the home was allowing us to relax in the evening and watch movies together or talk about the day. The home is very well equipped. Not that we cooked, but I feel like we would have what we needed if we wanted to. We never made it to the hot tub as we were gone most of the day, but wish we had. The outdoor area was very nice and the outdoor shower helpful to rinse the sand off from the beach. The community was very peaceful. It wasn’t walking distance to key areas, but we weren’t looking for that. We would rent this home again for sure.

This was the best vrbo experience for me and my family. It felt like home. Thank you so much for the hospitality. We had everything we needed for the week. The location was amazing, Kona and the surrounding beaches were beautiful. We spent every evening eating dinner on the lanai. I wish we could come back every summer!!

Having stayed at other rental properties, they often feel like- well, rental properties. Hale Alaula is miles beyond anything we could've asked for! This felt more like staying at a family member's home.

What we loved:
The beds were very comfortable!
Beach gear was available to us in the garage.
The property was BEAUTIFUL! The plants were enough to keep us in awe for hours.
The property management was incredibly accommodating and patient with my (many) questions.
The community is peaceful and gated.
The views were amazing from the lanai.
The proximity to everything you'd want to do in the area is perfect!
Communication was swift and clear, and everything we could hope for.
The decor felt like home. So much so, that my little ones decided to "camp out" on the couch the entire stay.
The hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking waterfalls!
The outdoor shower was clutch after days at the beach.
The drawers in the kitchen were stocked with little things we might need, like tape or scissors.
Movies to watch and streaming services in downtime on the TVs.

What we didn't like:
Leaving was a bummer.

I have honestly never stayed at a better property at any location. Genuine love and attention goes into this place and it shows. You feel the Aloha Spirit at Hale Alaula!! We will book all future trips to Hawaii around the availability of this property. Mahalo!

Location was convenient to Kailua without the congestion and noise of the town. Very central to beaches, shops, and dinning. The house is very nicely equiped for any cooking situation. Water toys are available for use. The outdoor shower was handy for rinsing dive gear and just getting the sand off.

We had a wonderful 10-day stay; this property is so well-appointed, you'll want for nothing! From beach gear down to laundry detergent, beds were made, it was spotless - they even provided beach bags, hats and robes to use during our stay! We lived in Kona for a few years and coming to this house was like coming home. Even the neighbors were lovely.
