We have been exploring the Hawaiian islands for many years. Maui has long been our favorite island and Makena Surf continued to beckon us back. In 2017 our dream of owning a condo at Beautiful Makena Surf became a reality. We have created cherished family memories while returning to Makena Surf again and again over the past 10 years. Now this is our home away from home where we are creating memories with children and adorable grandchildren. Our goal is to create a spectacular beach experience that is comfortable, luxurious and memorable. Our dream is to share this magical experience with you.

OUR FAVORITE ACTIVITIES WHILE AT MAKENA SURF:
*Our favorite place to be is sitting on our own Private Lanai while watching the waves crash along Po?olenalena Beach, as we listen to the vibrations of the sea
*Snorkeling ?Turtle Town? the reef right her off of Makena Surf/Po?olenalena Beach
*Exploring the vast ocean on paddle boards or sea kayak
*Snorkeling at Ahihi Keanau Reserve (just a few minutes? drive from our condo). It is a spectacular, serene snorkeling cove with a plethora of colorful fish and coral reefs (take shoes for the short rocky walk to the snorkeling area)
*Every visit we enjoy hiking part of the Hoapili Trail (aka Kings Trail ) with its spectacular, rugged ocean views (wear good shoes and take plenty of water)
*Walk Wailea Beach Path stopping at The Whales Tail (Marriott?s beachside snack shack) for Banana Bread & Mango smoothies
*We always enjoy going to Pita Paradise for lunch or dinner with fresh fish caught by the owner daily
*Lappert's Ice Cream is a must! (The Shops at Wailea)
*Each evening we walk down to enjoy the Sunset from our very own Po'olenalena Beach
*Sunset dining at our two favorite local restaurants: Nick's Fish Market (Fairmont Kealani) or Humble Market Kitchin (Marriott)

Pros…the nearby beach, the excellent view, the lushish botanicals, shopping and restaurants were conveniently close. Everything you needed for being at home was available.

Cons…the coral or rocks that were in the ocean made it hard for swimming. Would recommend removing if available.

Overall we had a wonderful stay and look forward to coming back.

Perfect location. Clean and well appointed. King bed and two queens were comfortable for our family. Beautiful condo with its own grill. Staff were quick to assist us. Fantastic beach and friendly staff on property. Loved the pool and the gym is nice. Great location and quiet.

We loved our stay at Makena Surf. The view was stunning. The beds and couches were comfortable. The primary bath was a little dated but everything else was beautiful. The beach was steps away and absolutely amazing! The location was super close to lots of shops and restaurants. Only suggestion would be to put a magnifying mirror in the bathroom for putting makeup on as it is a little dark. Otherwise a prefect stay!

The condo has everything that you need for cooking meals. We appreciated the use of 4 beach chairs. The bathroom was not clean; however, and there was a large amount of old urine at the base of the toilet in the master bathroom. We were there at the tail end of COVID so there was no housekeeping. Clean towels were dropped off after 3 days of our visit and they picked up trash that we put outside. That was the only housekeeping; which wasn’t sufficient as there were multiple trash bags sitting outside of our door for several days through the duration of our visit. We walked by it every time we came and went. Also, the pictures make it look like a short walk off the lanai to the beach. It’s actually not accessible due to a large hedge and protected historical area that was not to be walked on. Kind of a bummer, since you had to track sand in through the condo to put used towels and chairs on the lanai. And the condo instructions cautioned about sand in the house and how it can stain the carpet and floors. Hence, I felt nervous and vacuumed and swept frequently while there. I did a lot of cleaning and taking out trash while on vacation, which isn’t really what I hoped for while paying as much as we did for this unit.

If you want a quiet and relaxing vacation in Maui, Wailea is the place to be. This property is a 2 minute walk to the beach where you can swim and snorkel. This condo is tastefully decorated and filled with all of the essentials you'll need, including a very well stocked kitchen. Our only small complaint would be that the beds are on the softer side. Maybe for someone who likes soft beds this would be a plus, but since we prefer firmer mattresses they weren't so comfortable. Even knowing this, we very much enjoyed our time at this property and will hopefully be back in the near future. Mahalo!

We had a lovely time at this Makena Surf property. The condo was in great shape, the beds were comfortable and the management was very responsive. The view is beautiful and it's a perfect distance to the beach. Thanks for a great vacation!

The location of this condo is amazing! The beach there has incredible snorkeling off to the left around the point and the kids had a blast in the waves with the boogie boards. Condo is beautiful,clean and has a large kitchen.

It would take me much too long to tell all the wonderful things about this property. My family was in Maui for my son's wedding and needed a larger place in this area. Of course we were not expecting it to be as nice as the beautiful pictures we saw, but were hoping for the best. Boy, were we wrong. This condo was INCREDIBLE. Our jaws dropped when we walked in. Everything was perfect. The view, the complex, the furnishings; it was all top notch. There was not one single thing we could have wanted that was not provided. Would have stayed a month if we could have. It was spotlessly clean. When we arrived we were met by a property manager who explained how things worked and gave us the codes for the doors and parking gates. There were two beautiful pools and the gorgeous beach was a two minute walk. Best place I've ever stayed and I will go back.

We really enjoyed our time at Makena Surf. The condo was really spacious, comfortable and very well appointed. We spent a lot of time on the lanai, enjoying the gorgeous ocean view. The grounds are just beautiful! Ali'i Resorts was a great company to work with. They were so helpful and courteous, both before and during our stay. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. The only things that were not perfect, and really not even a big deal, but the bedrooms were a bit dark since it is a ground floor and the wifi wasn't very strong.

We spent five nights during our spring break at the Makena Surf condo and loved every minute of it. The pictures are a great representation, but don't really do justice to this gorgeous view. I enjoyed having my Kona coffee out on the patio each morning to the sound of the surf and the stunning view across the bay. The condo is well appointed and missing almost nothing (boogie boards might be nice; we purchased a few ourselves at the store). The office lends tennis racquets out to those who want to play but didn't bring them along, which was fun for our family. Beds are very comfortable and we slept soundly. The absolute highlight of this location for us is the amazing snorkeling. We paid for an excursion that went out to Molokini, but honestly it wasn't really necessary. There were many turtles every time we snorkeled right at the south end of our beach, and even more around the point, along with countless colorful fish. You could also hear the whales underwater. It was really a treat! Being away from the heavily trafficked and touristy parts of the island was a big plus for us. It was fun to visit Lahaina or go for ice cream at Lappert's in Wailea, but we liked being away from the hustle and bustle of those areas yet still easily accessible to them. Beautiful hiking is nearby just past Makena along the lava fields and oceanfront, where the road ends. Communication from the team at Alii Resorts was timely and complete and we didn't have a single issue. Would happily recommend this place!
