Our family had a wonderful week in Maui staying at the Makena Surf condos. Location was spectacular on the beach with easy access to many restaurants, golf courses and excursion options. Condo was clean and spacious for our group of six.
Have stayed at this property many times over several years. .This was a trip now with our adult children. Well appointed unit in a great location with great space . Beach is wonderful with quick access to snorkel with the turtles at Turtle Town. Location can’t be beaten.
Our family of five loved everything about this beautiful condo in Makena: View, proximity to beach, cleanliness, privacy and comfort. We appreciated having our own BBQ on the lanai (other condos use shared BBQ's in pool area), along with a very well outfitted kitchen. Property management was super responsive and helpful in resolving a minor AC issue. We only wish we could have stayed here longer, and will definitely rent this unit again next time we visit Maui.
Upscale decor, amazing room set up with basically 3 bed/bath arrangements for privacy. The location for parking with a senior travelor was perfect. We will definitely stay again!
I have almost hesitated leaving a positive review for this place because I don't want anybody else to find out about it :). I have travelled to many places all over the world and this is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at. Everything was incredibly convenient, the place was immaculate, and I loved the spacious master bedroom that took up the entire second floor. I would definitely stay here again.
Pros: Great views from the main living areas. Set back and tucked in enough for little wind while still being close enough to hear the crash of the surf and watch people on the beach. Snorkeling off the point is so good it is a destination for many guided tours. Turtles are practically guaranteed. I saw at least one every day I went snorkeling. The unit was very clean. The upstairs was a lavish treat to stay in for my mom. Although the 3rd bedroom isn't technically en suite bath, it has a pocket door that effectively makes it so.
Cons: (I only mention these to be thorough, I'm still giving it 5 stars overall.) The 2nd bedroom AC vent had a rattle that disturbed my brother's sleep. We reported it by 2nd or 3rd day. Management team indicated they'd look at it. But after room service day it still rattled. 2 cockroaches on kitchen floor on first couple days. (but it's Hawaii... so you kind of expect them) Not much in walking distance like you find around Kaanapali but greater privacy / less crowding as a trade off and Wailea is a very short drive for posh shops and restaurants.
We had a wonderful family trip to Wailea! The condo was beautiful, clean, with an amazing view! We loved using the grill for lunches and dinners on the lanai and the kitchen was stocked with all the appliances we could need!
The rooms were beautiful, spacious, and comfortable.
Destination residences Hawaii were wonderful! They were friendly and accommodating and very quick to respond.
We would definitely love to stay there again!

Beautiful setting - on the beach, with a great view of the sunset and easy driving access to snorkeling at Ahihi Kinau Natural Area Reserve. Unit was well equipped for our family group of 7 adults. Management was easily accessible via phone or text and responsive.
Makena surf is awesome. Our second time here with family. Highly recommend!
This condo was spectacular! The location, the view of the beach, the amenities, and the decor were all outstanding! The snorkeling was awesome with so many fish and turtles in the area. Our family loved it all, and we will definitely recommend it to friends. This was a marvelous place to stay.
