*The things we liked: the view from the deck, the outdoor lanai with the hot tub and tv area and it was quiet most of the time. *The things we disliked: the home wasn't the cleanest - for example there was layered dust on the bedroom fans and sconces and the bathroom could use an upgrade for sure We also needed a light blanket on the bed (the comforter was heavy) so we found two blankets in the bin in the living room and they were musty smelling and stained (I washed them myself). The bug exterminator came and was in our parking spot and wasn't very motivated to converse or move his truck. The landscape guys came one morning and were loud and it was awkward to be outside with them there. Trivial but annoying - one cold beer mug and one wine glass - do people come there and stay alone?? Lastly, for a property listed for over 2 MILLION dollars if you wanted to purchase it, we expected a nicer place. Everything is so dated and the place really could use an upgrade. We did enjoy Maui and will come again but stay elsewhere.
Perfect location, well equipped unit, outstanding water front property
This is my 5th time vacationing in Maui. I have stayed at high-end hotels and luxurious condos in Kaanapali, Lāhainā, and Wailea — all but one of them had oceanfront rooms. Yet I had no idea how private and comfortable this home in Makena would be - the photos and details in the listing cannot describe the beauty and peacefulness of the location. I am definitely coming back.
This place is fabulous, we loved everything about it. We really enjoyed the spa, nice bonus. The kitchen was very nice had everything one needs to cook meals with. Even had sharp knives! True to the advertisement it is very clean. The location was perfect, we saw so many turtles! Great spot for snorkeling. For us it was the best place to stay.

It was a great place, the only problem was the air conditioner as it was on the fritz, the owners went out of their way to accomadate me with a stand alone conditioner in the bedroom. Overall it was a nice stay
This is a great property in Makena right on the water. We spent the days outside watching the turtles swim and boats coming in and out with guests wanting to snorkel turtle town. The makena beach park is less than 100 yards from the house and beach access even closer. What a great place to snorkel or just watch the waves come in. Some of the warmer days we turned the air on in the bedroom but the rest of the house didn’t need it and it’s really handy to be able to do that rather than cool the entire house down. The owners provide everything to need for a beach day so no need to by a cooler or water toys/gear, it’s all here. The place is perfect for two or a small family with kids. Two full baths and plenty of room to have a space of your own outside. There is no oven but the microwave is convection so you can even cook a frozen pizza in it so no problem. Love this place and highly recommend due to the location, private parking and privacy in general. Wonderful hosts. Thank you.
The location is absolutely breathtaking. The place was beautiful and comfortable. The owners were very nice and responded to any questions or concerns we had. The house manual had great information for throngs to do and shopping nearby. It was tropical paradise and we didn’t want to leave. Anyone who wants a nice secluded place with privacy to enjoy a special occasion would love this place.
This is so worth it! It’s difficult to leave to go do things, to be honest. But, if you have to leave, the place has everything you need for a beach day, several of which are super close (short walk or drive). Short drives to grocery stores with anything else you might need. Great communication with owners! Loved it - will hopefully get to be back. Our thoughts and condolences remain with all those affected by the wildfires…
Luckily this was our second stay at this AMAZING property on the Bay in Makena. The house is clean, unique, and fully stocked for an extended stay. We love all the patios and the outdoor space downstairs— including the hotub that has a great view of the ocean. The house is tucked away and very private. The neighborhood is nice and a short drive to resorts and restaurants. The communication with the owners is easy and prompt. We would love to stay again in the future.
