We go to Maui annually, and we stay in this unit. Pretty much plan our vacation around its availability. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need, including a cupcake pan (which I've never used). New furniture in the living room and it's so comfortable, as is the king size bed. But my favorite thing about the unit is the "high" chairs on the lanai. I'm short and these chairs elevate me so that I do not have the blue bar directly in my line of sight.

Very relaxing enjoying the ocean and the pool.
The condo is well supplied with cooking gear, spices, and bathroom amenities. The washer and dryer was a life saver for our extended visit. Can't go wrong at the Makani Sands.
We have come to Maui every year or sometimes a couple times a year since 1990. We have stayed at just about every place on the west side and this place did not disappoint. Owner was easily reachable and flexible when we arrived a day early. Like we always say, if you are looking for someone to come out to the pool and say "may I bring you another drink" you may want to go to one of the big resorts, but you will deal with crowds and with little Trevor's temper tantrums and all the noise. If you want the real experience, and to be lulled to sleep every night by the surf on the water, this is the place. Fully equipped. The only thing not in the kitchen was a crock pot so we bought one and left it for you in appreciation for an always-good experience. See you next time.

Yes, this is the place you want to stay in Maui. We had a studio with an ocean view. It was perfect. The bed was comfortable, the shower was excellent, the kitchen was well-equipped and everything worked as expected. The best part was the lanai that looked out over the ocean. We could see whales from our balcony. Tiny beach in front, various restaurants and shops within walking distance.

We came to Maui for my husband's birthday & his 1st time to the Island. It was my second time and I had stayed at Makani Sands before so knew I had to book again for this trip. The views from the Lanai are amazing. The grounds are beautiful, and the management are friendly & informative. The condo is super quiet. Everyone really respects quite time. Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything you would need to make your stay enjoyable including binoculars to sit and watch all the whales breaching in the distance. We even saw turtles swim in by the sand bar. We had a fun, relaxing stay & when in Maui we will book Makani Sands again.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at the Makani Sands despite a major construction project on the grounds. Apparently, the beach is seasonal as there was not much exposed sand during our visit. But it is close to all my favorite Maui beaches. I'm looking forward to re-visiting the property next year upon completion of the seawall restoration.

I brought my 2 young adult children to Maui and I was so pleased with our stay here at Makani Sands. Our view from the lanai was beautiful and the sounds of the ocean were so soothing. Clean and comfortable. Stocked with everything we needed.
