The condo indeed had breathtaking views but lacked the alohoa spirit. There were turtles on the beach everyday! We were even blessed to see the Hawaiian monk seal on the beach as well. The condo was nicely stocked with essentials. We are early risers and were excited to walk down to the beach in the morning but quickly realized that unless you are on the ground floor, there is no beach access due to everything being locked and gated until after management unlocks it in the morning.
Several interactions with the property management left us feeling like we were walking on eggshells. One interaction took when we arrived after a long flight. Our grandchildren were eager to play at the pool but after being told the 5 year old was being too loud we packed up and never did use the pool area as a family again. The close proximity of the pool area to the lower level condos might make this a less than ideal location for families with young children. In addition, be aware the wind blows a lot in this area. I had thought that we would have the same wind patterns as Kihei but that was not the case, the wind blows everyday all day. A beautiful condo with breathtaking views but the limited access to the beach and negative interactions with management kept us from feeling welcome and experiencing the aloha spirit.
Never cooled upstairs, even with 3 fans, sweated everynight. Very uncomfortable.

The place was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The view is beautiful, even saw some turtles. The only negative is it's windy all the time, couldn't really enjoy the outdoor.
Condo was well maintained and clean. Had most of all expected equipment and goods. Was a little surprised very little kitchen supplies, i.e. salt, pepper, some kind of oil, napkins, etc. were available. Location was great. Also, surprised at some of the stringent rules for guests.
We stayed with you off the recommendation of my sister-in-law's visit with you. She was very happy with her stay overall which led to us booking and staying in the same location. Very clean and perfect location to watch the turtles play every morning and evening. Wish we had more accessible beach, but the short walk brought the same experience. Look forward to our next visit!

We loved our stay here! Besides the amazing view, our very favorite part was going down to the beach area (through the gate) at sunset to watch the turtles come to shore to rest/sleep. We counted 15 one night. What a wonderful surprise!!! The unit was nicely updated and very clean. We enjoyed the beach at the end of the road several times during our stay. We appreciated the beach towels, the 4 beach chairs, the cooler (and cold paks in the freezer for the cooler). Here are a couple things we give a thumbs down to: First, the air condition unit on the lanai gave off a LOT of heat so we weren't able to enjoy it much as it was way too hot to sit out there. Second, it would've been helpful if there were a few more supplies in the unit such as saran wrap/foil, oil for cooking, chip clips and a wine stopper. Oh, and it would've been nice if there was more seating, perhaps another comfy chair. These things would not stop us from coming back but thought we'd suggest it for future visitors. We already miss Maui. Thank you for letting us stay in this wonderful unit.

We loved staying at the Ma’alaea Banyan! It’s a very quiet location in Maui away from the busy tourist areas. The condo was very clean, well-decorated, and had a lot of hooks and storage. The washer and dryer were such a blessing to have. The only problem we encountered was that the lock mechanism for the sliding glass door out to the balcony was missing. Hopefully it will be replaced soon. The condo property was clean and pleasant. There were sea turtles that came ashore every evening on the property. From the balcony we saw a rainbow, beautiful sunrises, and even a shooting star. This was a magical place and I would LOVE to stay in this condo again on our return visits to Maui!
We loved how less busy this area is compared to Kihei and Lahaina. You are in the middle of the two and it worked great for our family. We were able to see turtles daily! Property and pool was well maintained at all times. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal and the beach chairs were a nice added bonus for our island excursions!
