Pros: Love love love staying at Sugar Beach Resort. It’s a great spot on a gorgeous stretch of super soft clean beautiful beach (water is calmer in the early morning and winds/waves pick up quite a bit in the afternoons!) lots of people walking in the beach. Very accessible spot to explore the island. Interior furniture is updated and very comfortable. Great AC and in unit washer/dryer. Comfy king sized bed. Lovely view from the lanai - perfect for sunsets. Modern updated appliances. Kitchen basics are supplied in the unit (olive oil, spices, sugar, condiments) which I always appreciate! Mila was very quick and responsive when I asked questions before making the reservation. Cons: While some aspects of the unit have been updated, some of the amenities are ready for updating (i.e. formica counters, wall scuffs, pool towels had rust stains). Shower water pressure was on the lighter side. No shopping bags, coolers, or boogie boards/pool noodles to take to the beach/pool and only 1 folding beach chair. Mila was slower to respond when I wrote her on Sunday morning about a few of the cleanliness issues and difficulty finding the frying pans (note: they’re stored in the oven). She wrote me back on Tuesday and offered to remediate. Overall, I’d recommend staying here as it’s priced appropriately all things considered so if you’re looking to save a little, this is a perfect spot!
My family and I absolutely enjoyed our stay at Sugar Beach Resort. We have been staying at this location for many years now and we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. SB408 is a very nice condo. It’s an ocean view condo not an ocean front just to let you know. Views are still spectacular. Condo was very clean and had new appliances. It could use new pots and pans as they are quite scratchy. They didn’t have any scissors at the condo which was inconvenient. We had issues with our TV and wifi but I got into touch with the VRBO property manager and she rectified the situation quickly and communication with her was friendly and easy. I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone wanting to stay at Sugar Beach. Mahalo!
The location for this stay was perfect!
We met many friendly people who either owned or were renting. The pool and hot tub were well maintained. The condo and view were as described. The bed was comfortable. The light in the living room did not work properly, flashed on and off. It should be replaced. It would have been nice to have a light over or by the table.
Love staying at Sugar Beach. This property was well equipped, clean, great view overlooking the pool and the ocean/sunset. Property managers always answered questions promptly.
Great beach location and very central to most areas of interest. Enjoyed the balcony views and saw many whales.
This stay was very wonderful. Mila was easy to communicate with.
Property definitely wasn’t as clean as it should be and we had to wash most dishes before using them.
Washer was crazy loud, not a big deal but just know you should not run a load if you’re trying to do anything in the condo. Pictures are a little misleading and make it look better than real life.
Not the property’s fault but it was extremely windy the entire stay ruining most afternoons at the pool or beach.
Still in Maui though so hard to complain too much!

Couple of things that could be improved.
1) Pool code never worked. It says we could get it from the office. We were always out and about and office is closed when we are back. Would have been nice to get a code easily.
2) My kids like blankets. We had total of 3. Although enough, it was barely enough.
3) Would have preferred additional soap/shampoo but ABC store close by had Everything we needed.
