This rental property was perfect. It had everything you could need for the beach. The location is spectacular with Marriott next door for great breakfasts, Lava Lava restaurant walking distance on the beach, beautiful pool and easy walk to beach and shops including a great local market. Shawn made sure we had access to everything we needed and was in touch as necessary. Would definitely come back. Mahalo!
Came to Kona during the Ironman competition not knowing it was happening and all the hotels were booked so went for a VRBO versus a hotel. Was bummed until I checked into the condo and experienced the private beach club! Great stay!
When I booked the listing, I didn't realize how close it was to so many things. The beach club was a block and a half away. Two amazing pools and also with direct beach access. Lots of great restaurants and shops that were close. The condo itself was great and the hosts were super responsive to questions. All in all a great spot and I would totally stay here again if we come back to Waikoloa.
The Kolea condo development was excellent with great access to the beach and an awesome pool area. Shawn was quick to communicate and very helpful. Unfortunately, the condo itself was lacking in several ways. The furniture was older and more worn out than we had anticipated. The whole unit needed some extra cleaning and TLC.
We loved the location. It's my 2nd time staying in this development. The owner was super friendly and had excellent communication. We cooked everyday so we made good use of the kitchen. We loved the pool and hot tub area. Loved being able to swim at the beach with the turtles everyday. Nice to walk to Lava Lava for dinner and live music. Great stay!
The Kolea property is great. Such close proximity to "A" bay. It would have been nice if the pool had a deep end. As far as the condo we were in, that's another story. We stayed in 14 D. The pictures that we viewed through vbro were not exactly accurate. The stainless steel refrigerator shown in the photos is unplugged and obviously not working. There is a second refrigerator in the unit without filtered water and ice next to the dining table. All the rugs in the bathroom s and the one in the hallway are filthy. The small refrigerator out by the grill did not work. We also could not get the TV to work half the time. The one small plastic cutting board we found needed to be thrown out. The coffee filters in the cupboard did not match coffee pot.
The twin beds advertised were small and narrow. Almost like a child's twin. The mattress cover on the king bed is stained. The dryer knob did not work. We had to use scissor handles to turn it.
So in other words, I would recommend Kolea condos to stay at, just not 14 D. It needs a lot of TLC.
Best vacation ever. So quiet and convenient and beautiful. The VRBO pictures do not do it justice, especially the Bay Area.
Location was amazing and very secure. Great access to the beach and pool. The host was very accessible for any questions
