My multi generational family stayed in this unit for one week. We had issues before we left for Maui. First our last name was incorrectly inputted and no one could find our reservation two weeks before our arrival at the Westin South Tower or any Westin location in Maui. I was passed around given multiple numbers to call all leading to no one finding our reservation. I reached out through VRBO channels and was kept being given the same phone number. In the end I had to call the Maui Rental office and insist after two days of multiple attempts to find our reservation. They finally saw their mistake and corrected it. We requested an early checkin as landed early into Maui with my elderly parents. Not only was the unit not ready early we were checked in an hour later then checkin. I had requested bedding for pull out couch and roll a cot for my two teens daughters upon arrival Nether were provided for over two hours after checkin. The unit size and lay out worked well for our multiple generational family. The unit is not equipped with any condiments not even salt or pepper. If planning any meal preparation you will have to purchase everything. We were not updated on how many house keeping days we would receive. The day they arrived we had just returned from a full morning out about 2pm. Upon our return a high pitch alarm ringing sounded persisted for a couple hours. We called to ask what was the sound. They said a sewage leak. At the same time house keeping arrived to clean the
We have stayed here before in an ocean front studio. This corner unit ocean front was off the hook!! I’ve stayed in many very nice hotels & condos and this was definitely one of my top 3! Excellent on all fronts! Thanks
The resort was fantastic! We were very pleased with our accommodations. We ended up being on the 1st floor in the south tower, which we were disappointed about as we requested a higher floor. We understand this is a float unit but it seems 1st floor is a trend based on previous reviews. However, unlike previous reviews, we found the 1st floor unit to still have an amazing view, and did not have any issues with noise. The resort actually has the first floor elevated so it seemed like a second floor. The rooms were both well equipped, and both had comfortable beds, washer and dryers, and spectacular views. The grounds were well kept, and staff was quick to respond to any questions or issues. The villa is actually 2 separate units (a studio and a suite). This worked great for us as we were traveling with another couple, and the privacy of our own unit was nice. Overall, the Westin Kaanapali Beach Villas Deluxe Oceanfront Villa exceeded expectations and made for an amazing trip! I would highly recommend, but please save some dates for us next year!
We have been visiting Maui Christmas wk for 6 yrs now. 1st as a family of 4 and now 5.This was by far the best experience we have had. Using HomeAway website was easy,Maui Resort Rentals was very quick to confirm and respond to my questions.
The property: 1st yr we have stayed in a condo vs a trad'l resort. We normally stay at the Hyatt on Kaanapali beach but $ is outrageous.I booked this condo in July and hoped we would get a good room when we checked in.We reserved a Deluxe Oceanview 2 BR and Maui RR did not disappoint. Bldg #3 floor 4 & amazing views (a couple tall palm trees but who cares.) This condo was BIG. Twice the size of other hotels and I SAVED money. The room was spotless, I felt like we were the first ones ever to use the kitchen is was so clean. We used everything: frig, DW, W&D, vacuum, coffee maker, blender, iron, toaster - everything. And that was just on our side of the condo. The kids had their own coffee maker, washer & dryer, etc.I recom'd bringing Tide pods from home and grab a couple extra coffee packets from hskp. Mid-week linen service was included.
Next yr we are not valet parking as underground our bldg was easier than having to hike all the way to the lobby. Rental chairs and toys are $$ onsite, we used toys that another condo had left behind b4 housekeeping threw them away. BYO pool football ($28) - deflate for travel and they will inflate at the towel station. Buying chairs on Maui is 3x as $ as the mainland but the same $ as renting them for one day at Westin. Everyone was polite incl other vacationers, made new friends and kids had plenty to do. The toddler pool was amazing, separate from everything else so no fighting for chairs. Great playground and has excellent shade!
Restaurants and a store onsite.
The resort never felt crowded even though it was Christmas and completely booked. The beach the same.By far superior to the elbow to elbow of the main strip. They have a free shuttle that will drive you practically anywhere! Just pay attention to the times and route. If you aren't going to the Big Beach you barely need a rental car. Almost forgot the best part- Literally across the street from the Sugar Cane Christmas train. My 3yo LOVED it and the choo choo every night. Buy tickets before your trip.
Aloha!
FYI, Safeway is 2x size it used to be and fully stocked.
We have stayed in Kaanapali many times so we know the area and other properties well. What is disappointing are the little things that aren’t so little when you pay a premium price. First, our villa was on the first floor corner, ocean front. We knew reserving a floating location could possibly put us on the first floor but my guess is that is the location that is highest probability. The noise and smells from the cooking area next to our unit made it difficult to leave the lanai door open I. The evening. The view is ok relative to other units but would be worth the money if on a higher floor. You can also hear building mechanical noises (clunks) every morning before dawn. Not sure if this is from plumbing or the fitness center below. There is only one cleaning touch-up per week which is too few for the price of the villa given that with more than 2 people in the villa you run out of soap, shampoo, etc within a couple of days. For what you pay they could. throw in a little soap. I travel a lot and by far this is the least amount of soap I’ve seen in a resort. The rest of the property is clean and well maintained. Pool was crowded but this was a peak time.
The villa was exactly as described . The one bedroom suite was spacious and the balcony was as close to the ocean as you could get. The studio balcony also had a spectacular view.
Lovely place to stay with our family. We had everything we needed for our family and a view and locatin that was breathtaking.
The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort was amazing!!! It exceeded all my expectations! The room was gorgeous and our view was unbeatable!! Absolutely sunning!! I have two teenagers and they loved the pools, vendors who would visit the property each day, and the excursions that were available thru the resort. The staff was very friendly. I'm already dreaming of coming back again!! I would highly recommend this resort!!!
The property was beautiful in every way. We have been to Maui 7 times in the past. The views of the ocean were spectacular and the property was in excellent shape with wonderful amenities. Staff was helpful and very accommodating and made our stay a memorable occasion. This was our daughters final family trip before she graduates from high school. We have stayed in many locations with business and family travel over the years and we would rate this property as excellent overall.
We've been to Maui 4 times but this was our first trip staying at the westin. We loved everything about it! Our expectations were exceeded. The staff was fantastic, the amenities were great and the beach was amazing. The kids loved the pools and water slide! Would not hesitate to return!
