I own and operate a property management company, so of course I was paying attention to all the details. This host has truly provided a wonderful place to call a “home away from home.” She’s made it so easy and convenient to visit a fly-to destination. Items we needed to enjoy the beach, cook our meals, and so much more were provided and easy to find — not just the essentials, but thoughtful extras that made our trip even more enjoyable. “How-to” instructions are provided for everything.The home itself is stunning. The pool and deck area, along with the view in the background, just puts a smile on your face every time you walk through the door and see it. You can tell this home is cared for with intention and pride. We felt comfortable, relaxed, and completely at home from the moment we arrived. I’d absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-appointed getaway in Kona.
Wonderful property, the infinity pool and view are spectacular. The property manager went above and beyond to give us a great stay. The location is great, about 3 miles from downtown where there are lots of restaurants, but in a very quiet and serene spot. There are several beautiful beaches within a 10-20 minute drive. We would stay here again for sure!
This house was perfect!!! We loved the pool, waterfall and volcano. Outdoor space was great, it was nice to come home from the beaches or sightseeing and take a dip in the pool. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were comfortable. Our host had great recommendations and was quick to answer any questions. Would we stay here again? Absolutely! We were glad it was on higher ground as we were there for the tsunami warning! Thankfully nothingvreally happened.
This stunning pool home - shaded with a kaleidoscope of tropical foliage and boasting an infinity pool - sparkles like a magazine feature, but exudes the warmth of a loving place to create precious family memories. Seriously - this property took our breath away! However more importantly, the owner Shannon, could not be kinder or more helpful! From a long and winding list of fabulous suggestions to helping us problem solve a travel delay nightmare with her generosity, Shannon represents true Aloha spirit! Her home boasts a chef’s kitchen, space to gather and spread out, a perfect location (we could make day trips out of everything on our site seeing list) comfortable beds and a sunset ocean view that could challenge the most coveted painting! Our oldest daughter landed a role in the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival and spent 3 weeks rehearsing for a musical. We joined her from Florida during her last week, and this home created a lovely home base for us to explore the amazing Big Island while supporting our daughter’s dreams. The property and host were both wonderful. Every need was thought of to make a relaxing vacation. The private infinity pool was great. We heated the pool for a few extra degrees to make it even better. This was the best vacation rental we ever had. The home had all the little things that made it very enjoyable
Was very impressed with the home, we were very comfortable and LOVED the pool! Communication with the owner was very good, she was very helpful.
The house was beautiful and very accommodating! It was well stocked and supplied for all of our needs. The grounds and yard were so well taken care of and lovely! We greatly enjoyed sitting in the pool gazing at the ocean and admiring all the beauty!! It was close to town and many attractions! The only comment was that the shower head in the primary bedroom was hard to manage and sprayed water in many directions making it hard to shower. Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable!
The pictures dont even do it justice. It is outstanding inside and out. It was extremely well stocked and the host was so helpful. The views were awesome and the foliage on the grounds were so beautiful.I would highly recommend this house!
We have stayed at many houses in the Islands over the years and we consider this one to be the best! The setting is ideal with expansive ocean views and beautiful landscaping. Kona is around 10-15 minutes away so there are lots of places to eat within easy reach. The house is well equipped, everything has instructions and the owner is available anytime to help if needed. This was an important anniversary for us and we were looking for seclusion which this property certainly provides!
The layout of the house and gardens is great. Lovely pool, putting green and badminton area plus a picturesque garden and drive way. Comfortable bedrooms and large living area and kitchen. Very well equippedHost is excellent. Regular and clear communication. We had a major storm and power outage while we were there but the house had the necessary flashlights, candles and barbecue to make do.
Fantastic. Incredibly clean and organized. Infinity pool is a dream. Spectacular view. This was our second time. Recommended with great enthusiasm.
This property was absolutely amazing and worked perfectly for our family of five. It was like our own private resort. It had everything we needed and more. A gorgeous property. This is a fabulous home managed by a fabulous owner.
It is apparent from the moment you book Collessie By The Sea that Shannon will do almost anything to help make your stay as easy and as enjoyable as possible. From an extensive list of things to do, restaurants to consider, excursions to take, and little nuances of the town and getting around, her advance planning list of ideas and suggestions was like having our own personal concierge.
But the real gem is the house. Located in a beautiful upscale neighborhood, it is modern, immaculate, exceeding well equipped. Everything (and I mean everything) is labeled with clear directions, pictures and even QR codes for how to operate the various features.
The setting, overlooking the the Kona coast has an unobstruceted and expansive view of the Pacific Ocean. Expect to be treated nightly to jaw-dropping sunsets as you enjoy a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the infinity pool.
Finally, and most impressively, was the level of communication with Shannon before, during and after our stay. She made sure we were doing well, enjoying ourselves and helping solve any problems or questions that arose during our stay. Always available 24/7 by text or phone, she is without question, one of the best owners / managers we have ever worked with.

Amazing and magical especially the sunsets…
We have vacationed in the Kailua-Kona area a number of times and this is, without a doubt, the best place we have ever stayed! I'm not sure what I can add given all the positive reviews below. Shannon, the host, was the best. The house was beautiful, very clean, and well stocked. The view was absolutely amazing. The pictures really don't do it justice. And, the pool was AWESOME!!!

Great property, amenities are as described. Please note the smallest bedroom does not have an ensuite or water views. There is a full bathroom in the hall next to it.

It had the most amazing view, serene & luxurious pool and landscaping- a perfect place for our adult kids and us to enjoy the outdoors each day!
With a rental car you can get to anywhere you want on the west side easily, including restaurants, excursions, beaches, and shopping!
I am a clean-freak about linens and bathrooms, and this house passed with 5 stars! I have never said that before this stay.
I also loved that they provided snorkel gear, boogie boards, and chairs for the beach.
We would definitely recommend this place and are looking for a time to revisit! :)
