This is ground floor unit Konea 102 at Honua Kai. Currently, new bookings in my units through VRBO come with my book in confidence COVID guarantee. Stay more safe. This is unit is ground floor with added easy in/out from the lanai (keyed). No need to walk through the hotel hallways / corridors, or use an elevator to a higher floor location. Our unit also features its own dedicated ventilation and AC system and air is NOT circulated/shared with other units and common places.
Current Maui / Honua Kai status: All pools / hot tubs are open at the resort. The beach is open. Dukes Restaurant is open for dine in and take-out and has live entertainment 6:00pm-8:30pm, daily. Whalers store is open 8 hours per day. Aina cafe is open daily until 2 PM. The gym is open: Hours: 6 AM to 6 PM, 8 guests at a time, 60 min limit, first come first serve. Bell / Valet is currently operating to help you move luggage to the unit. Times supermarket across the street is open for groceries, many on island excursions are open with reduced capacity, and many nearby restaurants are open.

We have a wonderful stay. Monty communicated well and addressed any issues promptly. The location on the ground floor is perfect for families. The kids enjoyed hunting for frogs and lizards right outside our door, and getting to the pool directly from the backyard was super convenient. Would highly recommend staying here!

This was my third stay at Honua Kai, and I would definitely go back. The unit and host were both terrific, as are the facilities at Honua Kai, especially if you are traveling with children and want to have plenty to keep you busy at the resort. Its also a great location to all that Maui has to offer on the western half of the island and very close to the grocery store, great fish market and my favorite sushi spot (Miso Phat).

If you want to feel like you live in a beautiful home in a tropical paradise, this is where you want to stay. The condo is fantastic - it’s literally closer to the beach than to the Bell desk. Get anything from the fish market up the street, grab your favorite adult beverage on the way back, and you can grill something that was swimming that morning as you watch an unobstructed view of the sunset from the lanai.
OK, if instead you want to spend your time in Hawaii looking for problems then yes, you might find a scuff in the paint. But you’re going to have to look for the scuffs - this property is very well maintained.
Monty was a great host - checking in to make sure things were going well without being intrusive. Just the right balance.
This condo is a big, comfortable place to enjoy with your family in an idyllic setting. We will be staying here on our next Maui vacation.

The accommodations were as described and the host did an excellent job of providing all the items you'd need to fully enjoy the property (beach chairs and umbrellas, kitchen supplies and utensils, coffee maker, etc.). Additionally, Monty was extremely responsive when we ran into any issues.

We had such a great time staying at this condo and property! Monty was such a responsive and attentive host. Like others have mentioned the location of this unit specifically is top notch. We were able to get the pools and beach with ease. The interior is well appointed and was comfortable for the 6 of us that stayed (family of 5 plus Nana). We will definitely be back!

Everything was great. It would have been even better if the manager had informed us that the fryer wasn’t working.
