Our stay in Pauls rental was exceptional. We truly had a wonderful time. I brought my family of four including a teenager and a 2 year old. The location was fantastic. It is located across the street from the beach were the snorkeling was great. We saw turtles, fish and some scattered coral. The cleaning staff around the units were great too. Everyone seemed to be willing to give us insight to the things we wanted to do and suggestions of places to go were great. Bob was fantastic too. He really made the stay comfortable and we felt very welcome. The place is located on a "busy" street but it never bothered us at all. The only concern we had when we first showed up was the AC. We had not paid for the convenience. It turned out to not be needed. Once the sun goes down and the fans are on the house is quite comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Kona.
This property is satisfactorily equipped and very comfortable for a few week stay. The major problem is that it is on the ground floor and the balcony overlooks the parking lot. As a result, you are exceptionally close to Ali'i road which is a major thoroughfare for surfers and their vehicles, and even some commercial vehicles. When booking the unit, I would have appreciated knowing about the ground floor location next to a busy street.
The saving grace? The bedrooms are in the back of the unit and therefore away from the noise.
In addition, this owner is very receptive and will respond to you as quickly as possible.
Lovely place, really enjoyed staying there, very clean and well maintained. All amenities as needed. Great location, very near to the main street with restaurants and shops. Nice to have balcony to watch from. Walking distance to local beach was great, and very good for snorkelling. Easy to park car. Swimming pool looked great, but never got to use it as so many beaches to choose from and lots of boat trips. Would stay there again.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this condo, which is in the Reef Building of Kona Seaspray, on Ali'i Drive. This is south of Kona proper, but it was a perfect location for us, because of the terrific access to the snorkeling at Kahaluu. The building is just north of the beach and across the street, right across from St. Peter's Catholic Church. I had been concerned that it would be tough to cross the street with our two kids (4 and 6), but the traffic (while constant) was never heavy enough to be a problem even without any traffic lights.
The condo itself was very clean and pleasant. There is an additional charge for air conditioning, but there are ceiling fans in every room and we found that kept things very comfortable. Bob, the property manager, is on site and was very friendly and helpful. In general, a lovely place to stay!
Had a wonderful 10 days at Kahaluu Reef condo. The beach is right across the road. Perfect for snorkelling and surfing or just relaxing. Also a short walk to Magic Sands if you want to try out the boogie boards. The pool area is wonderful after a long day to relax and barbecue. Also the Kona area has the best weather so a great place to stay. Thanks Bob for the hospitality and Paul for making it so easy to book.
I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the unit is. The photos don't do it justice. On the down side, there was a lack of hot water. Also, the information provided for the property calls it the Kahaluu Reef, but the sign on the road says Seaspray Reef. We had a hard time finding it at night because the sign on the building that says Kahaluu Reef is not visible from the road at night.
Overall I was very happy with my stay at the Condo, The Property manager Bob was great and helpful. Ask him about the local things to do and you can't go wrong.The location was quiet even with Alii'i drive right outside the door. Sunsets from the Lanai were pretty awesome. I'd take my morning cup of coffee across the street and sit by the Church and enjoy the morning surf.
The condo has all the basics.
I didn't give it an excellent rating due to the water pressure wasn't enough to get the water to run the Shower in the guest bath. So we had to share the Shower in the Master bath. Paid for a 2 bed/2bath and got a 1.5 bath instead.
Still overall was a great stay.
