The property itself is nice and the location was great. There were quite a few maintenance and cleanliness issues that made the stay difficult. The place was very dirty, floors and counters were dirty and sticky and there were ants everywhere in the kitchen. Several other maintenance issues like the electrical and structural needed to be addressed. In my opinion, the place was not in a rentable condition when we arrived.
The house is beautiful and the location is great. However, there is a lot of delayed maintenance that should be done on the house. Although we had a wonderful time, it could have been better if certain items had been maintained better.
- One of the bedrooms downtstairs lacks a dresser or a closet. There is shelving, but it is full of the owners items.
-Another bedroom downstairs has two doors to the outside. One door's handle broke off when we tried to open it. The other door is a slider that did not have a screen on it. There is no air conditioner, only ceiling fans and portable fans in the house, which we were aware of and ok with. However, keeping a slider open without a screen for ventilation, allowed little critters to come in.
-The window above the sink doesn't open because a kitchen faucet is in the way of opening the window. It would have been nice to be able to open it for ventilation.
-The large windows in the living area do not have screens on them, which was ok, except birds frequently did come in to the house.
The stove top has missing, so not all buyers can be used.
-We arrived on a Monday and the three garbage cans located on the side of the house were completely full. We had to drag 3 cans of garbage out to the street which were filled up by renters that had stayed there before us. That should have been taken care of by management.
The house was clean though and within walking distance to the beach, which was wonderful.

Great place and location! Communication with host was slow (we had some issues with check in-didn’t receive a code in welcome email) and a mechanical issue and I would message the host in the morning and wouldn’t receive a response until the evening. She was very kind she she did respond it was just very slow. Minor things need repair and it gets warm with no AC but overall its a great place! Also it feels like a super safe neighborhood but we did have 2 pairs of hiking shoes/boots stolen that were outside drying so I recommend not leaving anything outside.
This property was beautiful and a perfect location for what we were looking for. Thanks for a lovely stay!
The Good: There's a lot of room at this property and the location is walking distance from several excellent beaches, heritage trail, etc.
The Not So Good: It desperately needs repairs... oven doesn't work, stove knobs are missing, dishwasher doesn't work, refrigerator door has problems closing, there are exposed switches, fan blades delaminating with whiny fan motors, master bath shower handle is missing, no screens on the largest windows, windows stuck in open/closes position, trash was full, lacked detailed check-in/check out instructions, etc. Also be aware that the property is in back of another vacation rental property where we had to remind guest to move their vehicles from the shared driveway so we could reach our VRBO in back. In addition, there is no central air conditioning which is exacerbated by the lack of window maintenance such that the property gets very warm (and this was April).
This is a property with good bones in a great area, but lacking proper upkeep.
This house stunned. The kitchen is gorgeous and there’s so many great cookbooks inside. You’ll feel instantly relaxed in this lovely space.
With 9 People in our party, this home provided us with privacy, comfort and everything we needed for a week long trip to Kaua’i. With large windows, living and kitchen space, we were able to have just the right amount of togetherness and privacy during meals and in between our excursions and adventures. Only 7 min walk from the beach with nearby access to a pool and beautiful weather, we highly recommend this little gem on this one of a kind island.
