We had such a lovely stay at Honua Kai! The condo was beautiful, the grounds were amazing and the location with it's proximity to restaurants and a grocery store was unbeatable. We will definitely return!

We had a fantastic stay! The unit was exactly as described. Spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained. The view from the lanai was absolutely stunning and made every morning coffee and evening sunset feel like a dream.The layout was perfect for our family of four. The two large bedrooms with comfortable beds gave everyone plenty of space and privacy, and the full kitchen and in-unit laundry made a big difference for a longer stay. The beach chairs, cooler, and other beach gear were a thoughtful and appreciated bonus!We loved the Honua Kai Resort. The pools, the the beach, and the convenience of Duke’s. It’s also a great home base for exploring all of Maui.The hosts were communicative, professional, and made check-in and checkout smooth and easy.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, home away from home in Maui.
We have been coming to this resort for years but this was the first time I used Vrbo. It was a great experience. The condo was clean beautiful and had everything we needed. The partial ocean view was amazing and I really liked the view of the mountains as well.
First, the property manager and owner were VERY helpful giving details about accessibility and additional information about the easiest place to enter for snorkeling. The unit was not far from the elevator and had tile flooring at the entrance, which was great for parking my scooter without soiling the carpet. We could scoot down the boardwalk a short distance to the beach and reef and snorkeled 4 of the 6 days we were there, so it was SUPER EASY! We even saw a sea turtle 2 days in a row! OF NOTE: I can walk short distances, but the property may not be ideal if you truly cannot walk.The unit itself was very nice with a great view of the mountains (and a welcoming rainbow) and a balcony view of the ocean. The furniture was nice and there was a good table for meals. We cooked a fair amount and the dishes were enough to work with, though a cookie sheet might be helpful.The beds were comfortable and it was very quiet. Blackout curtains were effective. Sleeping was relatively easy.The bathroom was quite nice and I greatly appreciated the bathtub so I could sit to bathe.We used the washer/dryer and appreciated the instructions and laundry detergent pods.The beach equipment was nice and my friend used the swim fins for snorkeling, since she hadn't brought hers.My only thought (personal choice, really) is that carpet in a beachfront condo can get dirty very easily. I do prefer solid-state flooring.
Owner was great at responding promptly before our stay and communicated with us at arrival. The on site manager was equally as good at communicating with us and throughout our stay if we needed. The condo was clean and worked well for us and our 2 kids age 6 and 8. The kitchen was well stocked but no storage for your pantry items. The kids loved the pools and snorkeling right off the beach plus enjoyed the amenities in the condo for the pools and beach. They loved looking for wildlife (geckos, fish, frogs and cats) plus the daily rainbow sightings off the lanai. We’re already planning our next trip back sooner than later.
This condo was perfect for my family of four, we will definitely be back.

We flew from western New York for a family reunion. Besides a slight mix up with not being able to get towels, that our contact and property manager fixed immediately, everything was amazing! Great views of the sunrise over the ridge from the balcony, and you can even see the ocean! Beds were comfy and the place even had kids plates for us to use for our kudos! Great stay. Highly recommend.
We loved our stay at Honua Kai! The property was beautiful and much quieter than the area near Whalers Village, yet close enough to walk to those attractions. The kitchen had everything we needed including storage containers for packing lunches for the beach. We greatly appreciated the beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and extra beach toys so we didn’t have to rent those items. Check in was a breeze! The valet service when we arrived was amazing after a long day of travel- they brought EVERYTHING up to our condo including all of our groceries. The towel service at the pool was fantastic especially with a large family. Communication with the property manager both prior to our arrival and while we were there was excellent! I just can’t say enough good things about this place. I would recommend it to all of my friends and family and would go back in a heartbeat!

Great stay. Unit is as pictured and well equipped. 2nd bedroom is a little small. Ocean view is only while out on the lanai but not from inside the unit anywhere. No big deal though, unit is clean and well maintained. Property grounds is also very well maintained and the kids loved the pool. Unit is very well insulated, did not hear any other occupants in the building.
Great property for me, my wife, 6 year old and 2.5 year old. It was super comfortable for us. The pools on property were great. Was nice to get drinks and food while enjoying the area. Beach access was right there. Neighborhood was perfect. Would definitely stay again.

We loved our stay at this Honua Kai condo! This resort is fabulous with pools, beach and an onsite restaurant. This particular condo has a partial view of the ocean from the lanai. Gets great morning sun which means the lanai is shaded in the afternoon during the hotter part of the day.
Great communication with the owner and the local manager.
Really appreciated the beach gear - chairs, coolers, toys etc. It made for easy days at the beach! We left behind a pool noodle and sand toys for the next guest to enjoy.
This was the perfect set up for us and our school aged kiddo with the separate rooms and living room. The kitchen has everything you need to make basic meals. Condo was in great shape except the couch throw pillow covers had seen better days. We let the manager know so they can be replaced.

We loved everything about our stay, awesome views, beautiful beach, family fun hotel. Our family of 5 has plenty of space and the condo had everything we needed to cook meals in house. Host is very friendly and responsive. We will be back!
Property was clean and matched the description and photos. We had everything we needed. Property manager was very quick to respond but thankfully, we really didn’t have any issues. We traveled with 3 school age children, so we had 2 kids in 1 bedroom and 1 on the pull out sofa. Since we had access to the balcony from the master bedroom, my husband and I were able to relax on the balcony after the kids went to bed. The first few days of our stay the shore break at the beach right outside the resort was a little too rough but we had a lot of fun in the pool and there are calmer beaches close by. Having the restaurant right at the resort was very convenient. Delicious food, but expensive. Would definitely recommend renting or bringing snorkel equipment, because there’s a fair amount to see at the beach at the resort.
We loved our stay at this resort and the host was great to work with as well. The amenities were fantastic- the beach access, the pools, the supplies provided to enjoy the beach and the island (boogie boards, big and small cooler, beach chairs, etc)- we would definitely recommend and/or stay here again. Having a full kitchen and a washer/dryer was so nice- a family playing on beaches and hiking etc gets dirty and being able to wash things, vacuum up sand etc, made the stay much more comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, we all slept great. My only suggestion to the owner would be that the couch is probably ready for a deep cleaning or perhaps an upgrade. Just a little stained and frayed but nothing that impacted us. The size and layout of the space worked great for our family of 5 and the resort felt family friendly and we appreciated that. Our contact was prompt in answering questions) though we had few- the communication we had from them pretty much gave us what we needed.) Really satisfied with our stay!
Condo was as advertised as clean. Thought the partial ocean view would be a bit of a downside but the mountain views with the constant rainbows was super cool and the focal points of our morning coffees on the lanai.
Resort was beyond expectations. Pool area and beach awesome and perfect for families. Great service at all junctures. Unit comes stocked with beach chairs, boogie boards and toys.
Highly recommended and would stay again in a heart beat.
Great snorkeling right in front of Duke's. Property has three pools, one with a waterslide. Rent your snorkel from Snorkel Bob's across the street. Hit up the food truck lot at the end of the day. The condo itself is solid. Clean and comfortable. Management easy to work with.
My family of 4 (2 teens) enjoyed our stay at Honua Kai. The unit was clean and comfortable and the lanai was spacious with a lovely view. (The bathroom is very big but design wise, it would have been better to enclose the toilet so more people could use the bathroom at the same time.) The welcome box of macadamia chocolates and the bag of coffee was a nice surprise. If I had one suggestion, it would be to supply tissues and bath gel/bath soap as most rentals do.
Everything went as planned. Only disappointment was paint work/construction and road construction around the property that took away from the beauty.
Honua kai is beautiful and the perfect location for my family's vacation. The place was just as advertised. Nothing fancy but clean and well maintained. The host was excellent - great communication, checked in to see how we were doing, provided clear info about getting there.
We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect just what our family needed.
The property itself was great - multiple pools to choose from and there's also a small store on site. Check in was easy and communication with property managers were superb. In general, this is a resort area so it's more quiet and laid back.
We would definitely stay here again. The condo was perfect for our family of 5.
