BEACHES & CRITTERS: The beach size in Hawaii varies month to month due to weather, heavy surf, strong currents, and tides. Due to Maui’s rural setting, you may experience the occasional rooster, as well as harmless geckos. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaii. Please don’t kill them. Although the HOA schedules regular professional pest control services, pests such as ants, roaches and rodents simply cannot be completely controlled in the tropics. Maui is in a tropical climate. Overall impression of property, no music at pool unless asked to turn it on, no live music like it was advertised, no torches were lit most nights, grounds not well kept.

We have been coming to Maui for over a decade and always stayed at our Hyatt timeshare. We decided to take a last minute trip to Maui and we chose to stay at a private condo at Kaanapali Shores. Overall, the building is very conveniently located close to many local shopping in west Maui. The building has quite a number of stores with lots of activities. The single bedroom unit has a great setting with partial oceanview. The inside was very clean and has everything we needed for our short term stay. All in all, with a cost a fraction of Hyatt, has nothing less than Hyatt and strongly recommend this location.

I have seen other condos at this resort and mine was nothing compared to the ones I had seen. Our unit was clean and was completely updated. The master bedroom had a comfortable bed that elevated. There were two large screen T.V.s and a fully equipped kitchen for all your cooking needs. The property was absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful scenery with two pools, two hot tubs and right on the beach. The restaurant was delicious and had entertainment on certain nights. This was a perfect home away from home for me and my 3 kids. I would absolutely stay here again during my next trip to Maui.
