It’s all about the vintage Hawaiiana in this sweet, ground-floor condo in Kaanapali! You’ve got plenty of space to spread out in 920 square feet, and a prime location in the Emerald building, right next to the pool. You’re also close to the beach and Whalers Village, a popular shopping destination. Start your day by stepping out the sliding glass doors onto your private lanai, cup of coffee in hand. After savoring your lush surroundings, head back inside to make some breakfast in the well-equipped galley kitchen. Now it’s time to get ready for your day – no problem. You’ve got lots of space in the bedroom, which features matching king beds. After a day of taking in all that Maui has to offer, or perhaps just lounging at the shared pool and hot tub, head back to home base. In the evening, settle in on the vintage Polynesian-style sectional for a little TV, but not before a gorgeous sunset and happy hour cocktail at the onsite Castaway Cafe. Drift off to sleep thinking about how perfect the day was – and how tomorrow will be just the same.

Yes the reviews are right that it is old but I don’t think it was unclean just some of the cracks that come with age. The property is absolutely stunning with the beach, the pool and cafe all steps away. It is a giant shared space essentially with a sliding divider between the bedroom and living room.

The unit had a great location right next to the pool and had two beds in the bedroom.
However, the kitchen is so old it is dangerous. There isn’t a hood above the stove. There were rat traps in the kitchen as well. We caught several. The bathroom was old and had a nonslip mat in the tub that actually made you slip, so we removed it. We were provided with exactly one roll of paper towels and two rolls of toilet paper for 9 days.
We spent an ungodly amount for this place. I was very disappointed.

We loved our stay at this condo. Its mere steps to the gated pool, a very short walk to the beach, and so great to be on the ground floor with kids. It was nice to have access to the vacuum to clean up as needed. A few minor gripes—the rubber bath mat is an accident waiting to happen (the mat slides unpredictably, rendering it a huge risk rather than anti-slip safety feature), the unit is definitely a bit dated, and it could use a deep clean (lots of dust, crumbs, etc) in the areas that aren’t easily vacuumed. We needed a new set of towels part way through our visit and Vacasa was quick to set us up. One small gripe is that we could not find a baking sheet for the oven but were able to make do with the Pyrex we found. Overall, we were very happy here and recommend it to others, especially families.

My family has been vacationing here for 35 years. 5 generations now. The property is always accomadating yo us and our needs. Quiet well kept property. We have vebtured to other properties and still prefer this one. We range in age from 70s down to 6 months old. There were 32 family members all here this time. Staying in dolphin building, Emerald building and the tower. Castaway has great drinks and food. The pool, while we miss tge awrsome bridge was atill a great pool, the beach is perfect. The morning cofee is always enjoyable to start are day together. We will be back again in another couple years.

Would have been 5 stars, but the ‘two king size beds’ were in the same room. Low key hard to figure out this only has one room. Our bad for not reading the fine, fine print. Good thing our family gets along so well given we all slept in the same ‘2 king bed’ room!

Strong odor smell throughout Rat ran thru kitchen. Fruit and tomato had been eaten on. Pillow cases smelled of sweat. Dead cockroach in closet, live one on wall. Called and complained to management. They requested pictures.

The location was amazing but the condo was dirty and desperately needs updating. I contacted Vacasa about the issues and nothing was done. We also asked for late check out which was approved and then taken away the morning of check out. I would rate the experience with Vacasa a 1 star. Worst experience I’ve ever had a company of this kind.

Pro’s:
Ground floor.
Lanai’s 30ft from pool & restaurant.
Beach 100ft.
All amenities close.
Large space indoors. Huge couch (we didn’t use the pull out).
Dual king beds (in one room).
Expansive bathroom space.
Tons of towels.
Cons:
Horrible check in experience, front desk didn’t even show our room booked. Horrible, horrible at 1am. With a 7yr old. After a long flight of course.
Bathroom was a great space. Shower & tub gross and didn’t work great. Cold water tap in bathroom sink very stuck.
Noise if you don’t want noise outside or the 8-10pm times. The beach walk goes right outside the lanai doors. Pool and bar can be noisy. This didn’t bug us too much other than once a party happening two doors down past 10:30pm 🤷🏼♀️
Carpet?? Not ideal in a Sandy place I would say. All These clearly just my opinion.
ALL that being said I would come back 100% there are just things to be aware of and fair I think to mention.
Vacasa I wouldn’t say was an excellent experience, there was no easy way to contact them and the front desk wasn’t willing to answer questions that didn’t have to do with their own bookings that they handle other than giving you a key card and towels at check in.
This time of year Dec 1-15 is a great yet a tough time to come depending on your likes and dislikes. It seems to be the « get ready for the real surge of guests coming through the holidays ». So for a couple days half the pool was closed to renovations. The restaurant right here closed for 3 days for the same reasons (all these we were told haopen once a year). Just all happened while we were here.
