Avery happy customer. Great bed and balcony. Suggest some attention to bath drain . Great bed and balcony.
This is an older hotel tastefully converted to condos. King bed, A/C that works great, everything we needed in the kitchen area to prepare scratch meals. This is a city view, but you're up with the sun and back after dark just to grab a bite and sleep. Location is about a full block off Waikiki beach. Plenty of food, shops and things to do. Like any 'ole gal, she can use some TLC, but nothing that would stop this self-proclaimed clean freak from booking this unit again!! Definitely recommend!
The room was perfect for our needs. Very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed our stay.
Great location and good value for the price.
The room was small but adequate for a 3 day stay for 2 people. Central to beach, shopping and restaurants. Concierge was helpful when needed
Great location. Super functional.
Great location to walk to beach and around Waikiki, but bed was hard, lights from surrounding buildings make it feel like daylight all night, so bring something to cover your eyes. Several cockroaches in bath area. Building is very secure.
Convenient to everything.
Great location. Thx. Laura and Eric
Not far from the beach, got to take some pictures of the beach and the beautiful sunset.
Waikiki Grand is an older building, showing a lil age, but well maintained, IMO. Our particular unit was rented via VRBO, not the hotel. Luckily, the wife and I are simple people and as long as it's clean, we're typically good. The staff, especially Jonathan and Chuck were crazy cool !!
Even at our age, the wife and I love to "hoof it" when visiting new places. This place is close to almost anything you could need or want. What wasn't close enough was a short bus ride away, and there were at least three city bus stops within a block!!
If you must have a "view" be sure to ask for rooms from 07-15 (ex 207-215, 407-415 etc), otherwise your view is the inside of the V shaped building and the side road.
Overall, if we visit Oahu again, WGH will be first on the list to check on!!
I just wanted a decent place to sleep, not too far from nature and things to do, and I got that - mostly. However, the roaches I killed, random odors, dated laundry facility, and increased noise on my last two days created an anxiousness I wasn't ready to experience on this trip.
I'm pretty detailed when it comes to observation of my living space, but I am also adaptable. Constant overcast and rain had already made my stay less enjoyable, so to keep my peace, I chose not to lean into complaints to mgmt too heavily. I kept it to the bugs strictly, and, regarding vector control, mgmt was pretty prompt and responsive. I was not willing to have my room treated for pests while still having to stay there, though.
The real estate here is old, but still has unmet potential. I sincerely believe they could improve things without much cost or effort, however, I would not likely stay here again until those improvements have manifested. I have empathy for those operating this place, because the reality is most people are ready to be slobs while vacationing, if they aren't already, and that creates costly problems.
This room was nice, and located near the beach, zoo, park, and aquarium. I had a blast and was away from the room most of the time. I slept great and the sun deck is great during sunrise. Thank You!
Great room though small. Would have liked darker shades because of all the lights coming in at night. Also really would have liked to be able to open a window.
This is an older condo hotel with a beautiful view of Diamondhead and Kapi-olani Park from the 10th floor balcony, and easy access to Kuhio calmwater beach and Waikiki's main shopping/restaurant drag. The square footage is modest, but fine if you don't plan to spend much time in the room. A sleep mask is recommended because the slat blinds did little to block the all-night security lights from the surrounding properties. We'd stay here again.
The room was small and a bit dated. It was adequate for a short stop over on our way to New Zealand. A great location but would have enjoyed a view of the water instead of the security lights at night.
Close to beach, diamond head, zoo. Easy access to transportation. Area clean and safe. Room was cute, roomy. Bed was too firm for my liking. Only negative- no black out curtains to kkep the bright lights out.
Everything was great except would be to invest in better drapes
It was too bright at night making sleep difficult
Other than that it would be a 5 rating
