This is our 5th time staying at Hale Hui Kai and our second in this unit. We love this location!!
We really enjoyed this property for the ease of check-in and the roominess of the property. We were traveling with our two adult children so having enough places to sit comfortably to relax was important. We could see the ocean from the patio deck and the sunsets were spectacular. The air-conditioning was certainly a bonus as this part of the island can get warm. It made sleeping much easier.

Great location - best beach in Maui. Kitchen is dated and general maintenance of unit could be better compared to other units we have rented at Hale Hui Kai over the years.

My wife and I have been traveling to Maui almost yearly for the last 27 years. We love south Kihei and have stayed at Hale Hui Kai several times. We love this resort because is is small and in a great location. That said this particular unit could use some maintenance/repair and updating. During the first night there was a beeping like the battery in the smoke detector. We called the next morning which was Friday and a Holiday, so talked to the on call person who said that it was probably a moisture/water detector on the floor behind the toilet. He said that they would be in touch after the weekend... no one ever called or contacted us to take care of it. One of the kitchen cabinet doors was falling off it's hing too. There was also an issue with at Washer Machine in the 3rd floor laundry room. The onsite staff was helpful in providing us some extra soap but no offer to reimburse us for the money we put into the machine... I guess it is use at your own risk. This unit did have beach chairs and an umbrella along with snorkels, masks, and fins along with beach towels though. The reef in front of the Mana Kai resort next door is excellent to snorkel at. Lots of marine life including turtles and Octopus. Unfortunately the restaurants next door (Sarento's and Five Palms) were closed down. Hopefully they will re-open in the future. But on the positive side there are good places to eat in Wailea to the south and Coconut's Fish Cafe and Cafe O'Lei just north of Kamaole Beach Park III to the North. Overall we had a wonderful time and will stay at this resort again, but probably in a different unit.

We had a wonderful stay and really appreciate the owners allowing us to stay at the rate we paid for the original condo price. All the guests at the condos were great. We enjoyed talking with everyone.Great location.
