Beautiful view of the ocean. Unit was clean and had a good layout. Had everything we needed! Would recommend to a friend
We stayed here for 8 days and had a great time. The condo was modern and clean and had every facility we could wish for. Beautiful views from the room and on the patio. The only disappointment was that the pool was unavailable as it was being refurbished. I reported this to the owners and they responded with a generous refund. And the amount we originally paid per night was less than some friends staying in another condo on site! Can't recommend the condo, resort or the owners too highly. Brilliant!

This area is definitely more populated and traffic is more of an issue, but definitely manageable. Within walking distance of shops, restaurants, bike rentals, food trucks, etc. Grocery stores weren't very far either. The resort itself is noticeably older, but don't let that fool you. We enjoyed the grounds with the pool, spa, giant Connect Four game, ping pong table, beautiful grounds, etc. There's putting greens, tennis/pickleball courts, croquet, and other activities as well. The condo was nice and comfortable. The A/C in the main living area and the bedroom was appreciated. I enjoyed sitting on the lanai listening to the ocean. The shades for the windows worked great. We did purchase more shampoo, conditioner and toilet paper for our 10-day stay. We didn't get to enjoy leaving the sliding door open for some of our trip because window washers came and the screen was removed. The resort never got it attached properly and it laid on the lanai for the rest of our trip. The sofa sleeper mattress needs updating as it sags in the middle. We unfortunately had some noisy neighbors during some of our stay and they were marching around upstairs at 4am a couple of nights. The neighbors next door could be heard periodically moving furniture or slamming their front door. Not horrible, but recommend ear plugs if a light sleeper. Also recommend getting the insurance since the resort is older.

A really good location with bike path and ocean just out the back sliding door. Hosts have everything you need plus fun stuff like boogie boards and beach chairs. Very comfortable and walk to a lot. We didn’t use pool but looked nice and lots of games for families available. Would come back again for sure! We’ll miss the chickens too!

This unit did not disappoint. The pictures and descriptions are on point. We highly recommend this property to stay at when visiting Kauai. Property centrally located on island(15 mins N of Lihue airport in Kapaa), so you’re within an hours drive (depending on traffic) of any attraction you might want to see or do! The unit is well maintained, well furnished and the location was excellent. We were able to sit out on the patio drinking our coffee and watching the sunrise come up over the horizon every morning! Unit came furnished with all the amenities that you would want when planning a beach day, chairs, umbrellas, bogie boards, cooler …..The resort itself is well maintained. The pool is small which is to be expected since the property was built in the early 80’s. Don let the age of the property scare you. The property management team stays on top of everything. We had a very relaxing vacation and would stay here again!

We enjoyed every bit of our stay here. The condo was exactly as pictured and very clean. The kitchen was not missing anything. We loved watching the sun rise every morning. Our kids slept on the pull-out couch. Access was super easy and we had all the gear for the beach each day. There is a place to rent bikes that is a 5-minute walk to get to so it was great to ride the bike path one morning along the coast. We walked into town a few times to get something to eat or shop. Kapa'a is pretty sleepy after 8 pm so don't go here if you are looking for nightlife, but we weren't! We wanted ease, convenience, comfort, and affordability and we got it. We very much enjoyed the hot tub at the end of our days exploring and we also played a lot of ping pong. This condo is a great location because it's the mid-point between the north and south shore, so we didn't feel like we were driving too much to get to either. If you are looking to cover as much of the island as you can, this is the spot! It was painful to leave and come back to the real world.
This was a very clean and well equipped 1BR condo. We had everything we needed for cooking and the beach. Hosts were very responsive with any request. Will stay here again.
It is our first trip to Kauai. We were lucky to stay at this place. Nice place, community, and convenient to go anywhere on the island.
We enjoyed our stay in this private unit at the Pono Kai. This first floor unit has everything from an ocean view to just about any kitchen tool required to make any meal.
Excellent condo. Beautiful view. Layout was ideal. Owners very helpful. If you are looking for paradise you have found it.
My husband and I stayed in a very nice and comfortable condo in Kaapi, Kauai for 9 days. It was close to everything, very nice people and nice place where we could see the ocean (and the rain when it would "blow" in.
We would stay there again!!

We loved our stay! Loved waking up by the ocean and taking a morning swim. Our hosts were very accessible and accommodating.
Great property, great view, great people. Was greeted with aloha, felt the aloha the whole stay and it was to say our final aloha.

The only complaint we have is the oven doesn't heat up fast at all and takes a while to cook anything. We weren't sure if you were aware or not. Also the cleaning instructions need to be given before the stay as we weren't aware there couldn't be any sand in the condo. We would have been more careful from the start. I swept the whole place before leaving which in my opinion the cleaning feee should have covered that. Other than that it was great. We loved the view, the location and the condo was perfect for our family of 6.

The location was awesome. It was steps from a Sandy beach. The condo was very clean and had everything needed to be comfortable. The furniture was a little used, but okay. Centrally located. Close to grocery store and restaurants. Would stay here again.
We had an excellent vacation at this property! The location is great; kind of right in the middle for all the sights AND right on the beach. The property was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed, except a working cooler. The zipper did not zip closed. Not a big deal though. Definitely a good stay!!
We were pleasantly surprised at all the recreational activities available. Equipment for everything from horseshoes to croquet and board games were available at the pool. The view was just like the photos. The unit was clean and well set up. We had a little trouble figuring out the tv/streaming service.

Unit is clean with a lovely ocean view. Lanai fits 2 huge rocking chairs + 1 beach chair in closet. King master served 2 guests. Heavy blowing wind & torrential rains first days in Kapaa...typical weather at Christmas. We worked out minor issues ourselves as front desk will only refer you to call owner.
The location is great. The property is ok. The entire condo complex is in desperate need of an update. Think “Three’s Company”…. And the pool area is just OK…
This unit unfortunately has a very pungent smell of MOLD. But like I said, the entire complex is outdated.
I would not stay here again.
