This is the third year in a row that we stayed at the Kolea at Waikōloa Beach Resort, but first time at this property. This was for sure our favorite as the property was very spacious, well kept and just an overall beautiful place. The ocean view was very nice and of course all the local amenities from the awesome pool area, the beach, Queens Market and the other close restaurants are all great plus's.We definitely will be back!!!

My daughters and I had a wonderful stay here! The location can't be beat with the beach, pool, shopping, and restaurants so close by. But, the condo is so lovely and well equipped, and the owners were in communication the whole way through the process. Our only thing is we wish we had more time to enjoy it---we are island hopping and only had about 4 days. We will be back! Thanks again for a wonderful stay!
after multiple stays in the Waikoloa resort area, what a treat to find a condo that lived up to it's billing. Everything was immaculate. Kitchen fully stocked, appliances, utensils, etc. all in great shape. Location was great and we were able to take our grandson on easy day trips to different beaches. He especially enjoyed the boogie boards and other beach equipment. The Ocean Sports snorkel trip and Blue Hawaiian helicopter tours were both well worth it and highlights for us. We would return in a minute!
The condo was a perfect play to stay for 2 families with kids. We walked to the beach in the morning and hung out at the pool everyday. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and more. The owners were so kind, responsive, and anticipated our every need - coolers, beach towels, chairs & boogie boards - even a wagon to carry everything. We were especially grateful for their generosity and extended our check-out by a few hours because we had a super late flight. I highly recommend this condo.
Pros: Phenomenal location. Excellent, super-kind & responsive hosts. Well-appointed home, kitchen & beach gear. Cons: Feels tired and in need of new mattresses (hard, squeaky, uncomfortable), better cleaners, and better property manager.-Barbecue was so dirty with fat drippings that it caught fire (2 foot flames out the back within 1 minute) so we couldn't grill like we planned and shopped for.-Ice machine in refrigerator was broken so we had to walk down to beach club with cooler.-Shower floors & walls, handheld shower heads, & bathtub had black fungus because there are not enough fans to remove moisture (just in water closet areas).
This rental property was beautiful! It was well appointed, spotless, and the kitchen was stocked with all the equipment needed. Our hosts were proactive in communication with us and very responsive to questions. We look forward to visiting again next year.Thank you, Steve and Maryanne, for making our stay in Hawai'i feel so comfortable.

Nice vocation place with families! Very clean room and you can get almost anything ready for a relaxable vocation with families: Steve and Maryanne are very responsive and welcoming, and they care customers a lot, they provide an amazing book of instructions to show everything from the room inside to restaurants and beaches outside in big island, the property provides a lot cooking and beach items which is very helpful for big family!At last the view of property is great! Beautiful ocean and Mountain View! Although it’s the end of this vocation, we already start to look forward to next vocation here!
We’ve stayed in Waikoloa many times, but our first experience at Kolea Kai was truly exceptional. The condo exceeded all our expectations, providing everything we needed for a perfect stay. We were fortunate to meet Steve and Maryanne, the gracious owners, who stopped by to pick up some items from their closet. They were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home.The condo was thoughtfully appointed with ample storage space and all necessary supplies, so we didn't have to purchase anything during our stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking essentials and basic food items like condiments, olive oil, and spices. The beds were comfortable, and the condo remained cool throughout our stay.We particularly loved the pool area, which was the nicest we've ever experienced in a condo complex. The attendant provided towels, adding a touch of luxury to our poolside relaxation. The condo's location was perfect, with a short walk to the beach and a partial ocean view from our top-floor unit.Overall, our stay was fabulous, and we would definitely book again!
We had an excellent stay. Very large and well-furnished rooms, beyond-the-basics kitchen equipment and cooking/eating supplies. Outdoor pool/beach equipment was plentiful/beyond expectations. Everything inside and outside the unit was clean, ordely and worked without fail. Directions were clear, access worked great and location in the complex was great, complex's location in the overall development was super convenient. Would definitely stay again. Steve and Maryanne were very reaponsive during the lead up and during the stay. Super hosts with a great place.
The condo is in a great community with a great location for beach-going, shopping, dining and sightseeing. The condo was VERY WELL stocked with everything we needed for cooking our own meals each evening. The sunsets were beautiful as well! Steve and Maryanne took good care of us. We will be back.

We've been to the Big Island a few times now and this is our favorite place we have ever stayed. The condo was clean and spacious, with truly everything you could ever need to cook a meal (even a rice cooker!) and the property is gorgeous and close to everything. And a special thank you to the owners for the comfy beds and all of the beach toys and equipment. My kids were thrilled!
The property is well maintained, well furnished and great for families. The host is very easy to get a hold of and very helpful.
We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Steve and Maryanne's lovely condo. Everything looked exactly like the pictures. We stayed for nearly 10 days, and it really felt like a home away from home. Steve and Maryanne thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible - there were beach towels for use in the laundry room, shampoo and conditioner in each of the showers, rice/flour/spices for us, and of course, we loved having beach chairs and umbrellas at our disposal. Above all, the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. We are used to staying at condos where things are sparse when it comes to cooking (one didn't even have an oven mitt!), but this condo had everything! We don't have little kids anymore, but I appreciated that they had plates and utensils for babies/toddlers.
Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't glow about how beautiful the condo complex is. There's a really nice private pool and direct access to the beach. We really loved staying here!

Wonderful property in an amazing location..everything was great except the cleaning crew did a poor job left smelly items in the washing machine.. dirty dishes in the dishwasher.. counters dirty and left over food in fridge that should have been tossed out.. Thus the low score on cleanliness ..
Beautiful condo and so much room for our family and perfect location! Loved the lanai with the peekaboo view of the ocean, the unit was stocked with all the cooking equipment we needed and we loved making food for ourselves. Beach club is wonderful and easy walk to the gorgeous beach! Everyday we saw tons of turtles and monk seals! We had the best time! Can’t wait to come back and hope to stay here again! Thank you!
This unit has a lovely view of the ocean and everything we needed for a great vacation. The kitchen was well stocked and there were extra paper products and towels everywhere. Lots of everything just like we were at our house! Very clean and a quiet location with a nice club house and pool to use.
We've stayed at Kolea many times before, but this is the first time at Steve and Maryanne's. Their condo is a corner unit on the 3rd floor with very high ceilings that make the space feel very spacious. Because of the 3rd floor you get a fanatic view! It is a quick walk to the Kolea pool and 5-10 min walk to A-Bay where we spent most of our time. My family also noted that out of all our rentals this one was the most stocked with regards to cookware, kitchen utensils, spices, coffee, toiletries, and especially paper towels and toilet paper. We very much appreciated that! Also offered are a bunch of beach gear including snorkels, boogie boards, and a very handy beach wagon (this was very handy at Hapuna Beach). One minor improvement would be to upgrade the TV streaming system as we had some issues streaming. Overall our family loved our stay and would definitely return!

Condo is on 3rd floor with vaulted ceilings and a partial ocean view. Tons of beach toys and a beach buggy wagon hat was perfect for hauling the grandkids and their stuff to the beach. The pool area is a great place for the littles to splash and play. Hope to return for next year's Lavaman race!

My family of four loved every minute of our stay here. The kitchen had everything we could ever need to cook a great meal. One evening we were eating outside on the lanai and were able to see whales out in the ocean! The provided beach chairs, umbrellas, and toys were a huge plus. Overall, the condo is very spacious, modern, clean, and comfortable. The owners even put together a wonderful book of suggestions for activities/trips to do on the Big Island. The beach club was awesome and had easy access to A’Bay. We loved the views from the hot tub!

The pictures of this property do not do it justice. The condo is well appointed and has all the amenities we needed. We ate in primarily and the kitchen was very well set up and included all the basics and more. We appreciated the ease of checking in/out and communication with the owners was great.
