bedroom tv did not work, other than that it was great
This unit claims to be well maintained and "have everything we need to relax in Maui," both statements are false.
Upon checking in we noted the unit to be clean but frankly falling apart in areas. There was water dripping into the fridge from the freezer (continuously). The ice maker bin was a solid block of ice and there was rust in the freezer. The coffee pot lid was broken but worked if you set it on top and gently slid it in place. The baseboard in the kitchen was falling off. The screen door to the master was not operable. The shades for the sliding doors were tattered at the end like a dog chewed them and help on by a zip tie on the top. The light over the dining table didn't work.
The biggest issue was the noise. This is an END unit (not disclosed in the listing). The street outside is a very heavily trafficked street at all hours of the day and night. The road noise is so loud you can not hear the TV in the living room if any of the windows are open. Additionally, that street must be a main artery to the hospital because there are loud sirens at least 2 times a day. Some of the days we were there we heard them 4-5 times. Lastly, the "car wash" station for these condo's is also outside of this room.
The air conditioner is only useful in the main living space, not the bedrooms. The bedrooms were VERY hot.
I have called and emailed during and after our stay. Still trying to get resolution. Do not recommend.
Was a little concerned about the previous reviews people left about the cleanliness, but the whole condo was very tidy and clean when we entered. We were all very comfortable wherher the A/C was on or having windows and doors opened. The beach towels and beach chairs were a wonderful convenience for us, too! Loved the little Keiki Beach attached to the complex.
The beach area and the pool area are great! The condo is a bit tired - especially the wall art & decor. It would be a pretty easy fix to take down a picture or two and just leave some open spaces.
This is our 3rd trip to Maui and the 2nd time we've stayed at Menehune Shores. We love the location and the easy access to the beach. Although this time there were a few issues that should be addressed. Generally when we've come to Maui there are condiments, and some alcohol along with mixers in the kitchen. On this trip we had to completely stock the fridge. There was also a minimal supply of kitchen/bathroom trash bags, we had 3 for an 8 day stay. Additionally the complex office was not open during the posted times, we managed to find someone in the office on the final day of our trip.
Coming from another property in Maui to this property was disappointing. It was sufficient but not somewhere I would stay for longer than a night or 2. The location is good for access to many restaurants and an easy drive to the Wailea beaches and shopping. The cleanliness of the unit was the biggest disappointment and after notifying property management no response or consideration was given. Be aware this is an end unit so there is a lot of road noise.
Room was as advertised. Unfortunately room mis right next to road and road had heavy traffic. One of the stovetop burners did not work as well.
Nice experience. We were only there two nights but it was great space for theee generations to have privacy.
The unit was ok... a little dated but otherwise fine. The frustration I had was that it wasn't very clean. There was popcorn in the pull-out couch along with lots of sand. The coffee pot was left on, and there was water all over the counter. The floors and mats in the kitchen were dirty as well. hand there wasn't any hand soap in the bathrooms (or soap at all). When I let the Mgmt Company know this, their only response was "Thanks for letting us know". No apology at all.
Also, beware that the A/C unit is in the living room only with no vents in the bedrooms, so all doors need to remain open in order to keep the rooms cool. The A/C Compressor is located on the small patio and is very noisy and puts out hot air making it uncomfortable to sit there. Needless to say, I won't be be renting this unit again.
