Good location close to all beaches from Mākena to Kihei. Has beach gear and cooler, just had to rent an umbrella and snorkel gear at Boss frogs down the street.
This 5th floor (top) condo had everything we wanted or needed during our 9 night stay. We loved the beach (Cam II) across the street. There were restaurants nearby as well as a craft fair that popped up as well. The bed was comfortable and our stay delightfully relaxing. Would love to come back!
Property looks how it does in the photos, response from property manager was quick and efficient. The location is unbeatable, walk ability was a 10/10, shops, restaurants, rentals, and of course beaches, you name it, it was close by. My only qualm was it felt like the place had not been updated in a while and needs a little tlc. Furniture was clean and bed was comfortable. Temperature control was great. No bugs.
Such a lovely time in Hawaii, made all the more special staying here and having Lynn Taylor as our host. She was incredibly accommodating and helpful. The location, the condo, the lovely staff, the pool, we really enjoyed it all. We would stay here again.
This property looks better in the pictures than it is. It feels like the owners are making improvements but it's not quite there yet to get a better rating. We were in this complex with other family members who had nicer units. The location is great.

We loved our beachfront condo in Kihei! It was lovely to sit on the balcony with our morning coffee. The place is centrally located to many attractions and restaurants and steps away from the beach. Parking is easy at the garage next door to the unit. The apartment is very clean, spacious and looks newly updated, well stocked with essentials, has a comfy bed, and the second bathroom is a plus! It is a great value for what you get as well. We would recommend to anyone coming to Maui!

We chose to stay at Maui Banyan (5 nights) because of its location, within walking distance to several popular beaches as well as a variety of restaurants. It’s a convenient spot from which we made several day trips to Paia area, Haleakala, Wailea, and Makena State Park. The condo (H 506) was comfortable, quiet, and spacious. We really appreciated having two bathrooms with showers. The décor was tasteful and all the rooms were very clean. The roomy, updated kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with all the tableware, cookware, appliances and utensils we needed. We really appreciated the convenience of having an in-suite washer & dryer, and having beach chairs, towels, picnic coolers to take to the beach.. However, we felt that the listing description of “breathtaking ocean views” was a bit overstated because although we could see the ocean in the distance from the balcony, it actually overlooks a large concrete parkade. Also, the bedroom didn’t appear to be recently updated and could benefit from a replacement of the mattress and pillows.The amenities (pool and barbecue area) were excellent, and the adjacent garden with tropical flowers and palms provided a peaceful place to relax. The grounds of Maui Banyan are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay. Mahalo!

This condo was very well maintained and clean upon arrival. All the necessities in the kitchen were provided, as well as clean linens, beach towels and bathroom towels. There were beach chairs and coolers also to use, which was so helpful for our trip! The check in and check out process was so easy! The host had great communication with us through check in and check out. The building was very quiet and I never heard anyone else around us! It is so conveniently located across the street from the beach, we frequently walked to watch sunset then walked down the road for dinner afterwards! Definitely would recommend staying here, and would stay here again myself!

The property was in a great location to restaurants and the beach. They provided beach equipment when we stayed such as chairs for the beach, cooler (large and small), and boogie board which was wonderful and we used quite often!
We had such a nice time here. The unit was clean and contained and everything we could possibly need. The ocean view from our lanai was a special treat! We definitely look forward to staying here again in the future!

The unit was clean and has simple beach-Hawaiian decor to create an ambiance that reminds you where you are. It is on the 5th floor so the views from the elevator to the unit and your personal balcony is nice. Parking in the garage was never an issue. We didn’t use the pool but when we strolled through the grounds enjoying the gardens we could hear the laughter of children playing. The unit itself was quiet. It is stocked with necessities and is conveniently located to all the places we wanted to explore. Plus the beach is right there across the street! We would definitely stay here again.

This was a perfectly adequate rental that met our needs. It was clean and everything functioned well. However, it was a tossup between a 3 and 4 rating; 3.5 might be more appropriate. We had concerns about this listing. First, the agents Hawaii Life Vacation charged us $250 USD (over $300 CDN) for a minor change to our stay that we made 4 months in advance. Yes, we knew provision for this was in the 7 page agreement that we signed when we originally booked. However a problem at work over which we had no control necessitated the change. They were absolutely inflexible about this charge despite several emails regarding it. To charge this kind of money for something that took a few mouse clicks to change is ridiculous. It should be mentioned in the listing itself, as once you receive the contract and read it, you've already decided to rent and onerous fees like this should be known in advance. We've booked on VRBO many times and have never seen a fee like this. Offsetting this a bit is the fact that Lara the local representative was very kind and efficient when we contacted her over a minor issue which she resolved while we were there.
Second, the suite is listed as "recently updated". That's overselling things a bit. We've stayed in several units at the Banyan over the last 31 years, and this one has the original kitchen (except for appliances and lighting) and second bathroom. They've done an update of the ensuite bathroom but there is wear and tear on furniture, flooring etc so you should expect that. There is AC in the main living area only, not in the bedroom which many units have here. The property is well maintained and pleasant and the pools are great but one final warning - many people smoke on their balconies here and we were driven inside about every other day by the smell of tobacco or something else.
Again, this unit was adequate to our needs and we had a good stay in Kihei but be aware of some of the realities of this rental.
