Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Place was somewhat run down. Breakfast yogurt was over 10 days expired - expired on 12/10, and we checked in on 12/20. Nice view from room.

Absolutely amazing stay at the Bamboo room. We woke up to ocean waves, fresh papaya, boiled eggs, yogurt, and other tasty treats. We had a great time staying here and would definitely come back!

Reviewer Comments: Résultat de la traductionThe property is clean and the team very responsive, professional and available, but the rooms really lack charm and modernity, and could clearly do with a freshening-up

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Hale Kai. Good location outside of town but not too far. Quiet neighborhood. Beautiful view of the ocean. Filling breakfast with in room coffee and tea as well. Took advantage of the many activities listed on the welcome pages that are on the table. Comfortable bed but the Coqui frogs chirping at night might keep you up! Jacuzzi was too hot at 105 though.

Fall asleep to the sound of waves. Wake up to views of surfers. Enjoy local fruit for breakfast. This place is great.

Property is absolutely beautiful with a nice view of the water. Room had everything we needed and the included breakfast was delicious. Location is a little bit remote but we never had a problem finding an Uber. Overall great stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First, the room was dirty. The coffee maker had not been cleaned. There was a bunch of coffee in the paper filter, with several dime-sized blobs of mold. The pot still had some liquid coffee in it. There was some green something or other on the nightstand. After a few hours, my wife noticed that her socks had turned black, so we walked around in sandals the rest of the time. The shower is moldy. Second, calling the breakfast uninspired is high praise. When we arrived, inside the small refrigerator in the room we found a plate of cut fruit, two muffins, some milk, two Yoplait yogurts, and a bowl with two eggs (in shell). That was to be our breakfast for the next day. I’m not sure how we were expected to prepare the eggs - perhaps by using the microwave in the room. We ate the fruit, one muffin and the yogurt. The next day, the pattern repeated: a new plate of fruit appeared in the fridge, but no extra muffins (gotta finish them if you want more!), and the yogurt was replenished. That pattern repeated the third day, so that’s the extent of the breakfast. (They also have some standard oatmeal packets and granola bars on the desk that looked picked over). Is the fruit plate a collection of local Hawaiian fruits like papaya or pineapple? Nope - bog-standard bananas, apples, cantaloupe, and strawberries. And since it’s cut the previous day, the banana and apple start to turn brown by the morning, even though it’s in the fridge with plastic wrap on it.Oh, did I mention that our room was missing the smoke detector? It had been pulled out, so there is just a hole in the ceiling with wires hanging out. The view is great, I will say that. Nothing else even rose to the level of "good."

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here. The view was spectacular and a dream to wake up to every morning. The staff was attentive and we enjoyed the breakfasts provided. It was a 10/10 experience and we would highly recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to Hilo!
