Great location with everything our family needed.
The Condo was truly good but not great. I will try and offer honest and balanced feedback both for the benefit of the host and also for potential guests in the future.Positives: *The host, Chad, and on-Island support Keenan, were both very helpful and responsive. Extremely positive and great customer service.*Condo location and view were amazing.*Parking was easy and convenient*The pool, grilling area were both nice and as expected.*The unit included all as advertised in terms of supplies, dishware, in unit laundry and beach supplies.* Wifi and TVs/Entertainment all worked greatConsiderations:* Both the condo and unit have a lot of stairs (to get there and once inside) with no elevator option. Just be aware if you are traveling with someone who is mobility challenged.* The condo complex and unit are both a bit "dated." There is some "rusting" around windows on the paint and on drapes. The kitchen is okay but had elements which could use a "deep cleaning."Overall I feel it was very good stay and nice place which met our needs. If we had 6 again, I would consider staying again but if my group was less, I think I might look at some other places.I wish there was a way to give it 4.5 stars but I had to choose and it falls a bit short of "excellent."
We spent a week and had a great time. We enjoyed being able to use all of the beach chairs, cooler, etc. while we visited. The condo is quiet and the pool is well maintained and beautiful. Of course, the view in the corner is gorgeous! You can look out from this condo and see the pool and the ocean.This condo is located close to several beaches and is centrally located so it doesn’t take too long to get to anywhere on the island. The grocery store is a short drive away to stock up on the essentials.I highly recommend staying in this condo when you visit Kauai!!
Our family spent a week at the condo. What drew me was the three bedrooms. I appreciated the loft with 3 beds. All of the beds were super comfortable. So many thoughtful items and fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Truly felt like home. The grounds are like a park. So many beautiful flowers. The pool and hot tub was a bonus. Loved the location. Walkable to Poipu beach and shops/eating. Communication was seamless. They have beach toys, umbrellas, chairs, a cooler…literally thought of everything. Washer and dryer was so helpful for our family. Will definitely stay again if we come back.

We loved our stay. We’ve been to Kauai 4 times and loved this location. The view of the ocean included whales and dolphins! The condo is spacious and pretty clean. The only wish is more toilet paper and paper towels. We stayed 11 nights and ran out of both. One important tidbit is that you need a key to get into the unit. The door will not open at all without the key. Also, the handle to the door doesn’t get you in. Just turn the key and push open…

Perfect location. Saw whale breach from balcony while enjoying my morning cup of coffee. The dishwasher didnt work but maintenance was quick to respond. Unfortunately it wasnt repairable. Aside from dishwasher aperfect spot. Would stay again. strepairable...but not the end of the world.
We were thoroughly impressed with this condo! Perfect for our family! Great location not far from Poipu beach, beautiful sunsets, and it was well stocked too!! We would love to come back and visit!!

We had such a fantastic stay! It was exactly as expected and described in the listing and so close in proximity to all the things we love to do in Kauai.
The owner was more than accomodating and made sure to always let us know he was available for anything we needed. We also loved that we had beach chairs and toys galore which saved us time and money from renting.
Everything worked great and my family and I had plenty of space. We will definitely be back!
We had a fantastic stay at the Makahuena! Poipu is gorgeous with some of the best beaches. The Makahuena property is a delight. Lovely pool and great spots to watch turtles. The condo was one of the best we have stayed in. Great spaces, perfectly clean, very well stocked kitchen with lots of extra cooking supplies. We loved our stay and would love to come back again someday. Thanks Chad for all of your help along the way.
We had an amazing time on the island the condo was in a perfect location. We saw many sea turtles and a pod of dolphins of at least 100. So many beautiful birds that came to visit us while sitting on the balcony.
In addition the condo was very well stocked with everything you need for a great beach day. We were very pleased with our choice and already plan on coming back in the future.
What a beautiful condo! And a beautiful location! Perfect for our family of 6 - parents and 4 adult-sized teens to celebrate mom’s “Hawaii 5-0” birthday. The condo has everything a family needs for a great vacation and very comfortable beds. We enjoyed sunrises, the walking path to Shipwreck beach, turtle sittings, waves crashing on rocks and easy access to Poipu beach and all it has to offer. We will definitely be back!
The condo is perfect for a family of four adult. The hosts were awesome in thinking of everything for their guests. The pool and beach option make it an easy way to rest and recharge then explore the amazing features of this island paradise.
Everything about this property worked perfectly for the needs of our group of 7 people. The property is right on the ocean and the condo has a great ocean view. There’s a place on property to view the sunset and a spot within walking distance to view the beautiful sunrise. The grounds are meticulously kept and quiet yet close to everything we needed. Inside the condo we had lots of extras that made staying here so convenient like beach towels/chairs/umbrellas and snorkel gear. The lanai was a great place to hangout and the washer and dryer came in handy. Super comfortable beds and plenty of nice linens. Great air conditioning, too! The property manager, Chad, was always quick to respond to questions and so easy to deal with. Overall, for us, this place was a great find. Highly recommend!

Casa de Chad is perfectly located on southern part of the island overlooking the ocean with a beautiful flow of crashing waves and a “spouting” hole. We also spotted turtles. The condo itself is situated in an ideal spot overlooking the pool, and the waterfront view from the cozy balcony. Enjoyed the top of the lines outdoor grill available to us on the property. The night views of the sky were spectacular as we even caught the Blue Moon during our stay! Just a few minutes drive from Poipu Beach, a walk to Grand Hyatt Hotel and much more, you’ll find yourself immersed in everything Kauai has to offer just a few minutes away.
As far as the condo unit, it has a welcoming cozy vibe upon entering the front door. Fully stocked with most household needs and spacious enough for a family and/or friends of up to 6 people to comfortably share space. As for the actual cleanliness, would recommend deep cleaning on a regular basis.
Overall, loved our time and experience at Casa de Chad as it felt like our home away from home in Hawaii.
Overall we had a great time. Kitchen was well stocked with spices, etc. Beds were comfortable and loved the master shower. There were a lot of steps and walking to get to the unit. I feel there should have been a disclaimer about all the stairs and steep inclines. Husband and I have had knee and hip replacements and this was very hard for us and we were not expecting it to be like that. Would have liked to have known beforehand.We were more likely to stay in more so we didn’t have to do all the stairs. The view was great and we were able to see whales.
Excellent location! Fabulous view! Close to multiple beaches, Our group of 8 women loved every minute of the trip. Kauai is a magical island. Mahalo
