It was exactly as pictured- just a few steps and you are on the beach! Enjoyed beautiful sunsets from the balcony every night. A great location to visit all that Maui has to offer! Roopa and Joe were wonderful hosts, and had all the gear to enjoy a day at the beach! Would stay there again if we return to Maui! Aloha!
This place was amazing. It was so quiet and relaxing. The Lani right on the beach was our favorite place to sit and drink our coffee in the morning and then watch the sunset in the afternoon. Thank you so much for the wonderful place to stay!
We've stayed at Hale Kai O'Kihei twice before and this is by far the best unit we've rented. Very nicely finished and we'll furnished with all the little items that set it apart from others. They provided everything, from a blender to boogie boards. It will be our first choice of units from here on out.
This condo is perfect in every way! Beach access was super easy and close with an outstanding view for watching sunsets from the lanai. This is the single best I have ever seen a VRBO stocked...with beach towels and chairs, dishes, cookware and spices...even great soaps in the bathroom and multiple fans. We felt like we hit the jackpot with this find!

Our stay in Kihei was nothing short of spectacular. The view from the property was absolutely breathtaking—truly an incredible location. The property team was also a joy to work with, making the entire process smooth and hassle-free. Although the unit didn't have a washer and dryer (but avail onsite), this minor detail was easily overshadowed by the overall amazing experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable stay in Kihei.
Joe and Roopa's place is awesome! I wanted a place that was "oceanfront" and Joe and Roopa's is literally about sixty steps from the beach. Sunsets and whale watching from the lanai were amazing! Very close proximity to restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy etc. The condo is equipped with all you will need including some nice extras like beach chairs, beach towels, a cooler. Comfy bed too! I highly recommend Joe and Roopa's, their place is perfect and they are very attentive, responsive, kind hosts.

The condo was tastefully updated! The view was amazing and the grounds/beach were great! We enjoyed sunsets from the balcony and walks on the beach to see sea turtles. We would absolutely stay here again on a return trip to Maui!
We really enjoyed staying here. It’s just steps from the beach ( with gentle waves and shallow water - our kids loved it). The view from the balcony is just gorgeous - we spent so much time just sitting there and enjoying the view ( especially sunsets!) the hosts are nice and responsive. A handwritten note upon our arrival was a nice touch!
Next time we will stay 2 weeks instead of 1!!! This condo is situated in a great location. Not only are you steps from one of the best beaches in Kihei but you can walk to the grocery store, coffee shops, restaurants and cafes. It’s at the end of a quiet street. The sunsets are stunning from this location!!!
The condo has everything you need including beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels and sand toys. The kitchen is well appointed with two types of coffee makers (pod and drip), there are sundry pantry items and a lovely welcome basket. The bed was comfortable.
We didn’t use the air conditioning at all as the cross breeze when the slider and windows are open cooled it down very quickly.

Usually I will just leave a rating and not elaborate with a writeup. But this was different and deserves a full review.
As it turns out I've had to shorten this as there is a space limit.

Joe & Roopa do/did everything to make your trip the best it can be. Answering Qs before you book and during your trip to make you as comfortable as can be. This was a constant and made the trip perfect.
The kitchen had everything I could have needed to cook/ prepare/present/clean with. It was great not having to eat out and was a nice break even fo my teen. It was amongst our favorite times. 2 nice big shared BBQs on site. W/D w/ digital payment on main level. Used 3X and was perfect for us. Pool.
The unit is in a perfect location for those wanting something quiet RIGHT on the beach. Perfect sunsets. Gets windy sometimes in the PM so the sunsets are just as perfect from the terrific lanai. So are the breakfasts btw.
Comfortable sofa & bed. Clean. Fresh & modern. AC in living room by sofa/bed, large ceiling fan in bedroom at the front of the unit. Even with the door closed sleeping in the bedroom was very comfortable.
The unit comes with 4 beach chairs, umbrella, beach mats, lots of beach towels, snorkelling gear, beach toys, cloth beach/grocery bags. Bushnell binoculars to see the turtles and or whales, eagle rays (depending on the season).
I ran out of space anyway..our experience could not have been better. I would go back anytime.

Hale Kai o'Kihei's location, in our opinion, cannot be beat!
And Roopa and Joe have decorated and supplied their condo beautifully. We do almost all of our own meal prep, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to fix our meals to enjoy on the lanai, which has such a gorgeous, uninterupted view of Molokini, Kahoolawe, Lanai, and Maui.
Another bonus: Roopa was very prompt and thorough about answering any questions we had.
We look forward to returning and staying longer next time!

Also had a last minute change of plans that were accommodated and greatly appreciated. Great trip and a great place to stay.
We had a fantastic stay, this was the perfect home base during our trip to Maui. The views are unbeatable and the condo itself was very clean. It was stocked with everything we needed and had a comfortable bed. The location is convenient as well, just a short walk or drive to restaurants in the Kihei area and easy access to Wailea. We can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I stayed after getting married in Wailea. The communication with our hosts was great, we were happily impressed by the condo all around— everything we may need was there and then some. The neighbors were friendly, and there were love birds gathering everyday in front of the patio which was an adorable sight. Everything I like for a comfortable stay, this place had. Bed, water pressure, a/c all as advertised and better. The view was beautiful, would definitely stay again. Thank you Joseph and Roopa!
Condo was as pictured and described. Comfortable for 2 people. Kitchen well stocked with dishes and a variety of spices. Couldn't ask for a better location for beautiful sunsets. Close to grocery store. Pool is convenient but not fancy. Owner responses are prompt to a variety of questions. Would recommend if you want to stay in the busy Kihei area.
Ocean front property in quiet neighborhood of Kihei. Easy walk to the supermarket and other essentials. Unit was perfect for the two of us. Couldn’t ask for a better view!
The owners have thought of everything! The place is very well stocked, clear directions, and easy to settle right in. You can’t beat the views.
You’d be hard pressed to find a better location, in my opinion. So close to AMAZING restaurants. The views are unbeatable!! We LOVED whale watching and the sunsets!!! For my husband and I it was a wonderful getaway! There could have been more towels, both hand towels in bathroom and there weren’t any towels at all in the kitchen for drying dishes or wiping down counters except for paper towels, which seemed odd and could have been overlooked by cleaning staff. Overall highly recommended and would definitely return in the future!!
They say location is everything in real estate. The same applies true to this condo. The location of this unit is one of the best for sunsets from your own lanai. The overall complex is quiet, well maintained, and adjacent to a great beach where you might even see turtles on the sand. The unit is comfortable for 2 people and this was our third time staying here. Unfortunately, the new owners have made some changes that we did not find to be an improvement. The bathroom remodel removed most of the counter space and all the storage. There is a wire towel holder that they placed by the sink but it does not include a solid surface so there is no place to put your personal items. Also, they removed the dresser from the bedroom and there is no place to unpack your clothes other than hanging them. The nightstands were small tables that also did not include any drawer space. The sliding glass door to the lanai is quite outdated and hard to slide. The louvered windows to either side don’t open to let breezes in. These really could use an update to improve the experience.
Roopa, the owner was responsive and helpful and even brought us clean sheets and towels halfway through our 10 night stay. She also helped us with a late checkout which was much appreciated.

the rental fee at the time of booking (we have never had to do this before). We booked a year in advance.
We had an amazing stay at this property. The sunsets were different every night and never disappointed. We also spent time watching the whales. It was surprising what we could see and enjoy from the lanai. Beach walks daily with sea turtles making their appearance as well. The property was clean and comfortable. It was quiet, yet we were so close to restaurants and other local spots that we also enjoyed.

Beach was great. But the real pleasure were the hosts, our plane was delayed two days so I messaged them at 5am (not thinking I would get a response quickly) and they responded within minutes and were able to accommodate us for another two nights. Would highly recommend
