The Best: Our stay was quite very relaxing. The condo is exactly as pictured and very comfortable in all ways. Location is perfect, beds comfy, unit was clean, ocean breezes were cooling with little need for AC. WiFi worked well, conference call with our IT to transfer data to a new laptop. The decor is unique and quite interesting. The sunsets and overall ambiance is spectacular. We did have need to contact the owners for a couple of quick questions and their response time was extremely prompt. We could have answered them ourselves had we checked cabinets, especially nice they took the time to point out locations of items. The owners take great care in the comfort and convenience of their guest.Minor issues: *Construction repairs are happening on one of the buildings at the edge of the property's oceanfront. The noise is considerable while at the pool/cabana and ocean seating area. * Although I believe the property does not allow animals, a local woman brought her dog to the seating area in the evening at sunset, well behaved just took up seating from other guests. *Very strict rules regarding telephone conversations, music, etc in common areas and on the lanai which we appreciate as noise does travel near the ocean. Only once did we experience another guest playing music loudly and making cell calls. Owners cannot be responsible for others who ignore the property rules, a maintenance person was present for the issues and said nothing so perhaps dogs are allowed.
My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous week long stay at this cute condo! Everything was clean and very comfortable, from the spacious bedroom to the lanai overlooking the gardens and ocean. If you want to cook your own meals, the kitchen is equipped with a stove/oven, plenty of pots, pans and utensils, and all the standard spices. We really enjoyed the communal effort to keep noise to a minimum, allowing you to enjoy the sound of the ocean and wind in the palm trees from the lanai and pool area. Overall a fabulous location, well appointed condo and beautiful view. We would definitely stay here again!
The oceanfront sunsets at this property were spectacular! It was easy to communicate with the host, they were very responsive and helpful. We appreciated all the amenities provided; including beach gear, and spices & condaments-it helpped a lot. The property is very well maintained. Mahalo for a wonderful stay in paradise!
Had a great 4 day stay here. The home is clean and well stocked. Really enjoyed the time spent on the Lanai and beautiful sunsets. The kitchen was well stocked with whatever we needed to cook breakfasts and make coffee. The walk from the home to downtown Kona is easy - about a mile to shops and restaurants. Hosts were responsive and check in process was easy. Parking and getting in and out was no problem. Definitely recommend having a car ti enjoy the island. Very happy with our stay.
Balcony view is exactly as advertised, so amazing! Lots of fans to keep the place cool, as well as air conditioning that we didn't use.
We loved our stay here! The condo had all the supplies we needed for some basic cooking. We especially loved the ocean view from the lanai! We were able to walk into town which was nice. The location felt safe and parking was secure. Would recommend!
The property was a beautiful space. The kitchen had all the appliances including a washer/dryer. The lanai was the perfect morning coffee-drinking spot with virw toward the ocean. The livivng room was spacious with 2 couches. Bathroom was great with lots of room. The king size bed in the bedroom was veey comfy. Not having to take a key when leaving the condo is very handy.We loved the sunsets down by the cabana!The condo is close to restaurants and other stores. Also, the airport is very close for going home.There are many beaches south of the condo. Kahalu'u was our favorite for snorkeling; lots of fantastic fish.One can't go wrong renting this unit!

Excellent property, we loved it! This was a beautifully landscaped condo complex right on the ocean, right on Alii, a very nice location. The pool was great, ping pong was fun! The unit was clean, well appointed and had excellent internet and tv service. Parking and access were also great and convenient. We would definitely stay here again. It was a dream trip for us - stayed for a month in height of summer. Grand slam for us 2 old freedivers on Big Island!
All was perfect. All amenities were amazing and the outside area offers pleasent moments in family. Finally the view was especially breathtaking during sunsets.

We absolutely loved our stay in this condo! It was super comfortable with darling decor and had everything we needed! The view is of the ocean and we could actually see dolphins from the lanai in the morning! The pool and the Jacuzzi were excellent. It was quiet, peaceful and exactly what we needed! The hosts were great. Communication was wonderful and they even left us a couple of beverages in the fridge! Highly recommend!
First time trip to Hawaii and we were very pleased with our booking. Easy parking, kitchen fully stocked, relaxing lanai with a gorgeous view, tons of beach equipment (chairs, cooler, towels, boogie boards,..), walking distances to beaches and shopping/dining places. Fans worked great, kept the place nice and cool!
The view from the lanai is truly gorgeous!! And the lush landscaping made it feel private even though it's surrounded by other condos. The pool, hot tub, and ping pong table down by the water were great. Our host was friendly and quick to respond to all our questions. Convenient location. We will gladly stay here again if/when we come back to the Big Island!
This place is fantastic. A beautiful, spacious condo with a lanai that gazes directly on the ocean. We watched the sunset from the condo, and then walked down to the water's edge for the last glimpses.the condo itself has a full kitchen, bathroom, and a huge bed in the main bedroom. It's a wonderful spot that feels secluded, but it a short drive from anywhere in Konawould stay again
The atmosphere and the view from the Lanai are the best. Very happy with the overall value.
This is our favorite complex in Kona due to beautiful ocean views, lovely pool and meticulous care of the gorgeous landscaping. We also appreciate the low tolerance for noise making it so quiet and relaxing. First time at Jeannette and Micheals unit and we liked it so much we rebooked for next year! Amazing view and property exactly as described. Bedroom is on the parking lot side but we never bothered before noice and the AC was appreciated. Highly recommend.
We are frequent visitors to Kona and have stayed at many of the properties along Ali'i Dr. Kona Macai is one of our favorites due to the vicinity to town and the well maintained grounds. We really liked this unit in paritcular because of how well the kitchen was stacked and the items for the beach. Many STRs have kitchen but have little beyond salt and pepper and it's hard to actually cook a meal. This unit had spices, condiments and everything needed for meal prep. In addition to the kitchen they had beach chais, umbrellas, cooler and it appeared even a SUP. Everything regarding check in and check out was easy.
Enjoyed the central location; Lush gardens; Fitness rooms. Property has well appointed kitchen. We saw whales from the lanai. The sunsets were also spectacular.
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at Kona Makai; we absolutely love its location and the annual community it hosts. I lived on big island for a long time and it’s a perfect location to walk Alii, get to both Kona town and out of town. This unit, in particular, had an amazing view straight out to the ocean. Was stocked so so well too!!!! Everything was easy, comfortable, homey, and beautiful.
Everything about this stay was smooth sailing. Easy to check in. Loved the lanai and the view, watching the birds and the ocean. Its a very quiet condo complex and the neighbors are friendly - lots gather during sunset down by the water. The bed was supremely comfortable and we slept very well. Great location to explore from! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Nice and chilled place to relax...the view from the balcony was lovely.
Everything about this place was lovely! Great location right on the water and a very nice view.The only part that was missing was check in instructions with a code to get into the parking lot and instructions on where to park. The gate is normally open but at night it locks, if we hadn't followed a car in we would have been stuck outside. Everything else was very easy and smooth!

We spent most of our time outdoors as this is Hawaii and there is much to do. We are very active so even though the resort is 3Km from downtown it is a very easy walk for us. The place is very clean and Jeanette and Michael are available immediately if you have any questions.
The spectacular view from the lanais is nice to enjoy over breakfast or for a glass of wine at sunset. It is beautiful!
The place is lovely and perfect for a couple. The owners were very helpful during the whole process.
Enjoyed the stay! Host was great and clear with instructions. Place was in a perfect location with all the popular beaches and snorkeling areas nearby. Recommend for snorkelers and beach goers.
Had a great time! Condo has a great view of the lawn with pool and ocean beyond. Location is awesome with town just 5 min drive away. Couldn’t have asked for more for what we paid. No frills, but we didn’t spend much time in the condo anyways.
