This beautifully appointed 1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom suite has partial ocean views and majestic mountain views. The spacious covered lanai (balcony) provides a vista of the Pacific Ocean to the west and the stunning West Maui Mountains to the east. Additionally, this suite has a southern exposure which equates to more sun and less direct wind. This generates the perfect balance for Hawaiian air conditioning in addition to the central a/c.

The kitchen is fully appointed with stainless steel Bosch appliances and granite countertops, as well as our commercial grade Vitamix blender for use with smoothies or libations of your choice. One of the hallmarks of this suite is its southern exposure which offers morning sunshine shelter from the northeast trade winds. This was a last minute trip and a great find for us. Unit was exactly as listed. Check in was super easy and the coffee and chocolate treats were a nice add. We would rent this unit again.

This place was perfect for our needs. First thing that strikes you when you walk in is the fresh and clean feel. We didn’t notice any odor. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. I was happy to find coffee pre-stocked. Would have liked to have some sugar (and other spices) avaialable but grocery store is only 2 mins away. We needed some extra towels and the management delivered within minutes. Great experience.

Honua Kai Resort is in a great location, but the unit didn’t quite measure up to our hopes. H408 had an odd, unpleasant odor that we reported to the management company (Maui Resort Rentals). We thought it was resolved, but it returned after airing out the unit. We just ended up trying to mask it with air fresheners. Shower had mold in grout areas. Had linen service scheduled in advance, and even after confirming the dates before our trip, they ended up mixing up the days on one of the services. Management was responsive to the mix up and did come up and take care of the linen service after we called that afternoon, which was appreciated. The accommodations just weren’t quite what we’re used to - think we’ll look to stay somewhere else next time we’re in Maui.
