The Papkea has a wonderful homey feel to it. The place was very clean and the constant waterfall noise was very soothing.
Pleasant stay in beautiful surroindinhs
The location was great. Amenities were nice, however the room itself was literally disgusting. The linens weren't very clean (had to do loads and loads of laundry because of this). There were bugs everywhere. I've traveled several times and even lived in Hawaii and even at the super cheap places, I've never encountered as many bugs as I did in this room at this resort. Please do a better job of cleaning/ spraying. I was not happy with my stay and actually felt quite ready to check out when it was time. Will not stay here again! The price is outrageous for the quality of stay you get!
Overall the resort is well maintained but the unit we stayed in is definitely old and outdated. The place is not clean and needs a complete remodel. There were cockroaches and some towels had stains. Everything felt like it was going to fall apart. For the cheap price, it was passable to stay in for a week if you're not picky but I would not stay here again. I had a last minute cancelation and had to scramble to find this place. I can see why it was still available at this late date.
To start, booking with MyPerfecrStays is absolutely the way to go on Maui. They have multiple resorts they service and have amenities that are incredible, including someone who will help you schedule attractions/excursions. We unfortunately didn't get to utilize that this time due to prior made plans!
The only issue we had was our room was not clean or maintained by the property owner. The floor tiles are broken and we walked in to a room that had socks left by the last guest, water bottles left from the last guest, and things of that nature.
Aside from the cleanliness, we had absolutely no issues. This is a great location that I truly believe doesn't get enough attention. Great place for family vacation!

This place was not a winner for us. The kids liked the pool, and it was right on the water, but the beach is not swimmable. The fountain was super loud. So loud that it drowned out the sound of the waves and made it unpleasant to sit on the lanai. So that right there kind of puts a damper on things. Also had to sleep with windows shut because of fountain. Curtains stained. Broken fan sitting in corner of living room. Only 4 forks in kitchen. Made it quite difficult to get a couple extra bed sheets. So, yeah really meh.
Cannot recommend THIS SUITE. NO SAFE which created a problem because had to take drivers licenses, credit cards & other personal valuables whenever left suite. Also, stall shower was gross - mold, dirty & broken grout. Little ants counters clean.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Maui and so grateful we booked through My Perfect Stays. They were so accommodating and helpful over the phone. Our condo had everything we needed. We'll be back for sure!
The overall property as usual was great, however, the unit needed help, cleaning before we arrived was less than we expected. The furniture was pretty much worn out, the bottom drawer to the dresser in the bedroom fell apart when my wife pulled it out. The multiplicity of remotes for the TV's was an issue (took us a few days to figure out). Next time will stay in a different unit.
Great ocean site; putting green; tennis and pickle ball courts; pool and spa; great staff and maintenance crew. We loved our stay!
