Ola'a (meaning "lively" in Hawaiian) House is a 1,700 square foot home in the heart of Volcano Village featuring authentic Hawaiian furnishings and original art by local artists. The house is owned by the co-founder of Kilauea Lodge and former Magnum PI make-up artist Albert Jeyte (the house was part of the Kilauea Lodge properties.) You are hosted by one of his daughters, Alexx.

This home is walkable to and located in the heart of Volcano Village a small artists’ community located just outside the entrance to Volcanoes National Park.

Enjoy 2 bedrooms, one with king bed and the second with two twin beds. (beds can be combined for a small additional fee) There is one full bathroom between the two bedrooms, and an extra vanity and sink inside the second bedroom. There is a twin size sofa/chair bed in the living room where a fifth person can sleep. There is a large garden at the back and front of the house.

The living room, with gas fireplace, has plenty of room to hang out and play games, read, and a smart television with WiFi for streaming. A full kitchen with sunroom dining await you. This home is directly across the quiet street from "Tutu's Place" and the two properties can be rented together for wonderful larger gatherings accommodating up to 9 guests. (Tutu's Place Property ID 9358830)

At 3,750 feet altitude, the town of Volcano, and most of the National Park, enjoy a cooler climate than the sea-level communities. There are extra amenities such as a heated towel warmer in the bathroom and heated mattress pads on the beds, to keep you cozy on the cool Volcano nights.

Private parking right in front of the house. No washer or dryer on the property. There is a laundry place just up the road.

The private road, Hale Ohia Lane, is one of the oldest in Volcano, and is treed with a wide variety of old growth species.

Our family of four was comfortable in this lovely home. It was interesting to stay in a plantation style home and a nice change after all of the resorts on the Kona side. I We did not use the kitchen so cannot comment on that but the beds were very comfy and the fireplace was a real treat.

This Plantation Home is very clean and is very close to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Restaurants are close by. A general store is a minute drive away. Home is very spacious with a very large living room with gas fireplace. It is tastefully decorated with local art. Electric heaters is every room was a nice feature! Check in was seamless. Highly recommend this home !
