Pono Kai Resort is located on oceanfront/beachfront property. Our garden view condo has a fully equipped kitchen, 1 bedroom and 1 full bathroom. The bedroom has a either a queen or king size bed. There is also a pull out queen sleeper sofa in the living room, fully stocked with linens, towels, kitchen utensils, and appliances. We manage several condos at Pono Kai and guarantee condo size and view, but not the specific building or floor but requests are acceptted.
The resort is located in the historic town of Kapaa, Kauai. You can catch the sunrise in the morning over the Pacific Ocean or even see whales during migrating season. The resort is within walking distance of restaurants, boutiques, shopping and grocery stores.
The bathroom is furnished with starter soap, shampoo and conditioner, along with a hair dryer. There is an iron and ironing board within the unit as well.
The Pono Kai Resort has many amenities on site. Pickleball, basketball, exercise room, shuffleboard, putting greens, croquet court, cornhole, ping pong, board games, just to name a few. You can rent bicycles next door and we are located within 5 minutes from water activities such as; swimming, canoeing, kayaking, surfing, etc...
There are BBQ's located throughout the resort and laundry facilities located within each building.

Our room was amazing! Had a garden view as well as a spectacular ocean view! We occupied 6 rooms, and all were great! Clean and comfortable. Loved that we could get a new beach towel everyday :) The pool was amazing as well. They have so much to do there on the property, and lots of games you can borrow! Fun for all! Can't wait to go back!

The grounds are nice and staff was courteous. The room was fine with the exception of one pivotal item. The air conditioning is not sufficient to cool the bedroom and it was hot. I am a firefighter from the desert where it is very hot, so its not like we cannot take heat. This is a known problem as we spoke to others there and they had the same experience with the one bedroom units. We tried opening the windows at night to get outside air, but all of the bedrooms face the common walkway and our neighbors smoked marijuana every night and it would waft in the room and there wasn't enough air movement to cool off anyway. There was a portable fan there, and we placed it in the hall to try and direct some of the air conditioned air in the bedroom, but it was still uncomfortable at night. The complex needs to have an additional head unit for the AC in the bedroom. Everything else was ok, location is convenient for the island. This is my 7th time to Kauai, so I feel I have a decent data set for where to stay-if you like to be comfortable at night give this one a miss.

We will be coming back as this place has everything. We stayed 22 days and the staff are great. Lots of places walking distance from condo. The beach out front is great. You can rent chairs, snorkeling gear , coolers and more. Lots of fun stuff to do on sight also games and have a pool.

Love the restricted ocean view and the sound of waves crashing onto the beach. Condo is very close to the beach, but waves at the time were too rough for swimming. But no problems, there are other beaches with much calmer water a short drive away.
