In the evening, end your day by watching the sunset over Ma'alaea Bay and the twinkling lights of Kihei at night. Hono Kai is located at Ma'alaea Bay, near many attractions, shops and restaurants. Walk to Maui Ocean Center (Aquarium), take a sunset sail or whale watching tour from the nearby harbor, play miniature golf and more at Maui Golf & Sports Park, or shop at the Maui Harbor Shops. Ma'alaea is located in central Maui, bringing you closer to many excursions such as Hana or Haleakala. There is an on-site coin operated laundry room. There are no resort or parking fees.
Hono Kai C10 has a window A/C, is a 1-bedroom unit situated on the 3rd floor and can accommodate up to 4 guests. Please note that Hono Kai Resort does not have an elevator. The resort is located in central Maui at the Ma'alaea Harbor and offers the opportunity to drive to West or South Maui and explore all of Maui. Enjoy your morning coffee on your private lanai with tropical garden views and tranquility. This great third floor location provides quiet accommodations with close proximity to the ocean and pool area. The fully equipped kitchen is well stocked and convenient for making meals in house. This home stays cool with a single wall unit located between the bedroom and main living area. The master bedroom is separated from the main living area with lovely Hawaiian style plantation shutters, has a King size bed, which can be converted into two twin beds upon request. A comfortable Queen size sofa sleeper is available for extra guests in the living area. The bathroom includes a walk-in tile shower.
This condo is equipped with TV, cable and complimentary WiFi. My Perfect Stays provides a complimentary starter set of natural Maui made shampoo, conditioner, body soap and lotion. While at the Resort's Ocean front pool you can watch whales during the winter months!

My family and I had a wonderful time. The condo was comfortable and the beach was right at the doorstep. We are already looking forward to our next vacation stay in Ma'alaea!

The only potential drawback is that the mattresses (both queen bed and sleeper sofa) are very, very soft and saggy. Not great for people preferring a firm mattress.

Perfect location - both in the sense of a base to get to other areas of the island as well as a location in itself. Nice long beach to enjoy morning walks on. Condo had all we needed for the 2 1/2 weeks we stayed - including blender for those fresh island fruit smoothies every morning after our walk. Plus loved having the extra hooks on the bathroom and bedroom doors.

We decided to try a condo instead of a hotel. Great decision, we were in a great location and had everything we needed. The had snorkel gear, beach chairs an umbrella and towels for us to use. We had a great experience. Recommend

This was our first time to Maui and overall was a perfect place for us since we were out exploring and just needing a place to sleep. Pros:Communication was great, unit was clean, quiet, comfortable, easy to find, easy check in and a great location! The small gift was a welcomed surprise and very thoughtful!
Pros: Quite a few gnats in the bathroom upon ck-in. They did go away after the 2nd day.
The coffee maker leaked coffee all over the counter, there were several carpet stains and the furniture is rather aged and could use a lift.
We didn’t feel the need to contact the owner because we did want to disrupt our trip for pest control or a new coffee maker and the carpet and furniture were what they were.
Again not a negative experience at all, just communicating our experience and what could be improved upon if chosen. Thank you

Nice Size,. Clean, quiet. No problems getting in or checking out. Building has more of a lived in feel than a resort. But fine as a place to get away for a couple of days.

With so much time spent exploring, this condo met all the basic needs. There was a beautiful breeze and no need to the A/C.
The only downside was the rooster that started crowing everyday at 4am.
We would definitely stay again.

5 stars would stay again. This was a great location and home base for the week. Easy check in and unfortunately we had to extend an extra day due to a flight snaffu but it was very easy to do. Thank you again.
