Aloha & welcome to our home - Hale Kika @ Poipu Kai resort. Hale Kika is an open concept beach house with great views from the main living area, 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. Views from the house span from the Haupu Mountain to full ocean views. Our 2-storey home offers a relaxed, quiet environment, with expansive covered Ipe lanais on both levels, perfect for enjoying your favorite book or a meal with family and friends. On the ground floor are 2 guest bedrooms, a bathroom and large laundry room with washer and dryer. One guest bedroom offers a queen-bed and a private Ipe deck & lanai with ocean views. The second guest bedroom offers 2 twin-beds which can be reconfigured as a king-bed.
Located on the 2nd floor is the master suite, and an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen. The master bedroom is roomy, with a king-bed, an ensuite bathroom complete with double-sinks, a large dual-head walk-in shower and walk-in closet space for an extended stay. There are glorious views from the master as well.
The kitchen is updated with granite counter-tops, stainless steel appliances, a gas stove-top and oven (rare on Kauai), and beautiful Koa cabinetry. Our home is very well maintained and appointed with all the comforts of home as well as the amenities you need for your adventure exploring, snorkeling or swimming while on the island of Kauai. A great breeze circulates throughout to keep it cool and cozy during your stay.
Hale Kika is surrounded by lush tropical landscaping, and plenty of open spaces to absorb the sun and view the Pacific. The Poipu Kai resort has carefully manicured grounds, well-lit walking paths, 8 tennis courts, and a recently remodeled resort pool and spa. Poipu Bay Golf (0.5 mile) and Kiahuna Golf (1.5 mile) courses are nearby. Hale Kika is within minutes from Shipwrecks Beach, one of our favorite surf spots; and the start of the famous Mahaulepu Heritage hiking trail; less than a 1/2 mile from Brenneckes Beach, Baby Beach; or from the Poipu Kai resort tennis courts and resort pool and spa.

We loved our stay here - we were a family of 5 with a teenager and grandparents included. The house is spacious and well set-up with all the amenities you need. It's very walkable, with Shipwreck beach, the pool and tennis about 5-10 mins, and Brennecke and Poipu about 10 - 15 min.
The lanai was amazing and we spent a lot of time there, watching whales spout.

My family and I had an amazing stay at Raf's home in Poipu. He is an excellent host and the home is even better than the pictures show. The view of the ocean is amazing and the beach amenities were great. We will certainly stay here again the next time we visit Poipu!

Great house in an absolutely fabulous location. First, the house: love the set up with two bedrooms on the lower floor and the master + living space upstairs. Made traveling with kids quite easy, as I didn't have to worry about waking them if I was up making coffee qnd enjoying the view.
And what a view! I could see whales spouting from the kitchen or having dinner on the deck. I read reviews about noise from the Hyatt staff parking lot, but that wasn't a problem at all. The entire area was very quiet.
The master bedroom was quite nice - firm mattress but still comfortable. The pullout sofas face each other, so we only used one.
What really made the house a winner was how well stocked it was - lots of necessities in the pantry (spices, oil, flour/sugar/salt -- everything) and SO many beach toys: 6+ snorkel sets, 3 boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas, sand toys, tennis rackets, water shoes and more.
The location can't be beat: 5 min walk to Shipwreck beach for tide pools for exploring or the Hyatt for coffee; 15,-20 min walk (a bit hilly, but I like the exercise) to Brennecke's Beach for boogie boarding or Poipu Beach for snorkeling.
Also to note: it was the easiest checkout instructions of any place I stayed! Will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We enjoyed our stay at the house so much. The house is beautiful and the view is even better. We loved sitting on the lanai watching the ocean. It was also fun to walk to Shipwreck Beach and the trail that runs beyond that. There were ample supplies - beach towels, chairs, body boards - in the closet that we could use. Would definitely stay at the house again!

We absolutely loved the views from the lanai, we were out there every morning and evening. Lovely breezes and the house was very comfortable to stay in. Kitchen had everything you needed for cooking. Close to farmers markets, food trucks and beaches. We had a really fun time at this rental unit! Thank you!

We were impressed with the unobstructed wide, sunny open-ness of green lawn framed by palms all the way to the ocean. Also, the comfortable spaciousness of the living-dining-kitchen-deck area on the upper floor. Lots of dishes, cookware, and condiments, not to mention the beach toys, 2 sizes of coolers, ample towels, and also a soft sided wagon. It's a very quiet neighborhood, even with the Grand Hyatt adjacent, which is a plus for its lush grounds.

My family had a wonderful time at this lovely house. The house was very clean when we arrived and the view from the lanai of the ocean was awesome! The surrounding property was nicely maintained as well. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals for breakfast and dinners. The master bedroom and bathroom were very spacious and we loved the walk in shower! The location was very convenient for snorkeling at Poipu beach where we saw sea turtles and a monk seal. Raff was a pleasure to talk to for any questions and made sure our stay was very enjoyable so we all thank you so much. We would love to go back already!

We had such a great stay in Jessica and Raff's house. The location is perfect with a view of the ocean. We just saw a whale spout from the deck! The beds and linens are very comfortable, always a big plus for me. The kitchen is well equipped. When we had an issue, the owners were very quick to respond and resolve. I highly recommend this house.

This property was so amazing on so many levels. My family’s personal fav was the gorgeous view of the ocean (especially with the perfect upstairs Lanai to see it). Another amazing aspect was how centrally located the house is. You are walking distance to food places, the grand hyatt, beaches, tennis courts, and not to mention, the house had rackets and beach supplies (chairs, umbrellas, bags, and even games)!! 10/10 recommend and already want to come back here :)

Pros:
Home is as advertised. Close to the ocean with nice view off of second floor deck. Closest beaches are rocky, sandy beach is a little farther away but still easily walkable. Hyatt resort next door is handy for quick dining and is very nice. They have a wonderful pool area but want to much for use. Full laundry provided with needed supplies. Easy off street parking. Resort pool is available but is a ways away and isn't anything special. Lots of beach stuff available, chairs, umbrellas, toys, towels etc. Seems to be a quiet area even with the resort walkways being close by.
Cons:
Main level and master bedroom is on second floor so any grocery items and luggage you bring will need to be carried upstairs. The A/C is via mini splits, the one in the main area upstairs struggles a bit, the bathrooms don't have any so they may get a little stuffy (provided fans helped). There's some minor maintenance items needing attention such as cabinet doors with very loose hinges and the downstairs bathroom sink faucet spout that isn't attached to sink but just flopping loose (not expected in a rental with this cost) but these were really minor things.
Overall a five star rating. One other thing to note is that you can't be afraid of small reptiles here, we chased several little Geckos out. They seemed to coming in the louver windows since they don't close that well and the screens fit so so. It didn't bother us (our 5 year old grand daughter thought they were great) but just a heads up.
