Colony One at Sea Mountain Condos are located on the South end of the Big Island only 60 minutes from Hilo and 80 minutes from Kona and 25 minutes from Volcano National Park. The two closest towns are Na’alehu (7 miles South) and Pahala (5 miles North).
Walk to the world famous Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, and swim with the green sea turtles which bask on the beach all day long. All short drives from the resort: Green Sands Beach, South Point Cliffs, Kilauea Volcano, Ka’u Coffee Mills, and so much more. Greens Sands Beach is the only natural beach in the world that encompasses beautiful green sand made out of olivine crystals. South Point cliffs are the most southern point in the United States and are world renowned for its amazing views and cliff jumping excitement. In the other direction, Kilauea constantly spews out lava in the Volcano National Park for all to see year round. The Ka’u Coffee Mill is famous world round for it’s superior unique coffee taste- see the farm itself and take a tour of the beautiful uplands of the Ka’u district. Ka’u has some of the most isolated and untouched landscapes in all of Hawaii. The swimming water, fresh and salt, is warm and crystal clear, perfect for rejuvenating the body and soul. The island itself is the only place in the world that contains all 7 geographic climates. Explore icy tundras in the winder, lush green rainforests, and of course the beautiful relaxing beaches throughout the district and island.

Very nice vacation suite, nicely stocked kitchen with many appliances to use. The patio opens up just outside pool/hot tub area. Love the location, just down the road from black sand beach. This was our second time staying in Colony 1, can't wait to come back again!

This property is located in a perfect location. You get an ocean view, the pool and spa are a few steps away, and the Punaluu Black Sand Beach is less than a half-mile away. We found the property very relaxing. Just a few negatives: the bed could have been more comfortable, you could hear every movement from the neighbors upstairs, the drawer with the spoons/forks/knives wouldn't open all the way because it hit the stove. We stayed four nights, and enjoyed the vibe of the place.

This condo was a lucky find on our Big Island vacation. There are great views of palm trees and the ocean from the lanai. The pool and hot tub area was very nice with oceanfront views as well. 30 min to Volcano National Park and within walking distance to Black Sands Beach, with turtles. Cooler temps at night and awning windows that open to let in the nice ocean breeze made for great sleeping. Remote location is quiet and relaxing. With no restauarnts nearby, I would suggest providing more baking pans for the oven (pizza, chicken). It would also be nice to have better patio chairs since we spent a lot of time out there, and a broom to sweep up sand, etc. Overall, the place is awesome and we would definitely stay here again! Thanks so much!

Nice location for relaxing- nearby attractions have less people especially if you’re willing to walk a little. Unit is adequate- missing a few items if you’re into cooking- no grill tools, no baking pans. Lovely pool area and grounds. Comfortable beds, linens- newer small appliances. Overall great jumping off point for southern island adventures.
