DUE TO OUR AGE & MEDICAL HISTORY WE ARE ONLY ACCEPTING FULLY COVID 19 VACCINATED GUESTS! We have both had 3 shots of the Phizer vaccine, wear masks when in public and have kept our little coffee farm a safe place. We will not accept quarantined visitors.

When the threat of Covid 19 first became evident in early 2020 we quit accepting guests. We started welcoming guests back in the beginning of October 2021 and we have welcomed vaccinated visitors since then.

We prefer guests stay for a minimum of 3 nights, maximum of 10 nights.

Downstairs bedroom with private bath, dressing area and kitchenette on small working Kona Coffee Farm. Private covered lanai with ocean view through the coffee trees. Off street private parking space. Nicely set up with all you need to enjoy your Kona Stay. Very comfortable California king size bed, full sized refrigerator with ice maker. Washer dryer available. Owner's live on upper floor year around. 1300 ft. elevation on the side of Mauna Loa for very pleasant weather. In the summertime we are about 8 or 10 degrees cooler than downtown Kailua-Kona with temps in the 70s to low 80s with a gentle breeze almost all the time.

We are on high quality County water that is totally safe and also tastes great. Some homes in the area do not have County water and use rain water collected from their roofs.

Located about a 1/2 mile from all the amenities of the small town of Captain Cook. The Coffee Shack Restaurant, Post Office, Choicemart grocery store, several more restaurants, Ace hardware, fire station, police barracks, service station and more. We are just far enough off the Mamalahoa Highway so as not to hear traffic noise.

Short drive to great snorkeling, Puuhonua O Honaunau Place of Refuge National Park, Kealakekua Bay with the Monument to Captain Cook.

We grow coffee, avocados, mangos, papayas, kabocha squash, lilikoi and meyer lemons and more all on our acre. We will share with you whatever is growing and you may pick.

We have a few reviews since we have just started on VRBO. Following are some comments from people who have stayed here already:

Kim L.: "I just spent a week with my daughter in this beautiful ohana, located in the middle of a coffee farm. The property is gorgeous! We had views of the ocean and the Captain Cook valley from our deck. We were surrounded by coffee, banana and papaya trees. I especially loved hearing the coquis (frogs) ...

This place is great. Small private studio is just what my wife and I needed away from the hustle and bustle of life. It had everything we needed. Far enough away from it all. But close enough to get what we needed. The place is very clean. Awaken to the sounds of nature and spectacular Hawaiian sunrises. Property owners were very easy to deal with and had some beach items such as chairs and snorkels and a cooler for us to use during our stay. Can’t wait to come back again.

Very peaceful and clean Vrbo. Owners are very pleasant and easy to communicate with. Their fruit basket and coffee gift was very generous. Beautiful view and area. We enjoyed our stay here!

Comfortable small apartment for two: king bed, kitchen with stove, sink, fridge. Table, chairs, TV. Nice shower, bathroom, hanging closet. Covered veranda with seating, nice view. Very quiet except for occasional rooster and frogs….

The perfect place to stay in Captain Cook! Close to beautiful beaches, hiking and adventure! This place has everything you need to enjoy your stay, a comfortable apt, a beautiful front porch to be serenaded by the coqui frogs, fresh fruit within arms reach and a grocery store nearby! Hosts, Cheryl and Randy are friendly and helpful, with a guest book filled with nearby ideas and suggestions. It was a great stay!
