However because Halenani is our primary residence, we are NOT subject to the Hawaii County's new short-term vacation rental law (Bill 108) that limits most larger properties to renting only 5 bedrooms. Therefore, we can legally rent all 7 bedrooms.

My wife and I recently celebrated our fiftieth wedding anniversary at this very lovely and amazing home. We were joined by our children and their families. With five young, active grandsons to entertain, feed and watch over, we could not have designed a home more accommodating to satisfy our needs.
After reserving the home for this occasion I immediately had trepidation that maybe it was a mistake for all of us to be under one roof for eight days. The reality is that the home is so well designed there was never a sense of crowding, offering plenty of privacy and a floor plan that allows everyone their own quiet place and little peace of heaven. The entire experience far exceeded our expectations, both in terms of the beauty of the property and the caring and attentiveness of the owners. If you are looking for a memorable and very special getaway, look no further.

We rented this Champion Ridge residence in July and had a wonderful time. We took our children and seven grandchildren there for the week. The location was perfect for running and long walks. The house is beautiful with great views, well equipped and a comfortable layout. It was a perfect set up as all bedrooms, but the master, are situated on one side of the house and connected by an airy, covered passageway/lanai. It gives the feeling of privacy for each family and yet the pathway made it easy to keep shoes and toys outside of the room. The outdoor showers were fun and great to have after returning from the beach. The chldren loved the glass enclosed media room. We ate all our meals on the patio/lanai since it opened up from the living area and kitchen and became one large space. This was delightful and we could easily watch the kids in the pool. The house is furnished in a comfortable, informal manner which makes living there easy and relaxed. Media is everywhere and there is a terrific music system.

Out of all the available properties, this one caught my eye for my wife's 50th birthday. The open floor plan, gourmet kitchen, spacious rooms, infinity pool, etc made this a clear winner. The thing is though: the pictures DO NOT do justice to this home.
You enter through a stunning entryway over a pond into a huge open living area. The area is open to the outside (though can be enclosed). It is like living outside in the warmth of Hawaii, but protected by the elements! Simply amazing! All the rooms are private enclaves with many special touches including outdoor showers. This house leverages the great weather of the Kohala coast to maximum advantage.
The owners are personable and easy to work with, and the local contact is on call for anything just minutes away.
If you are looking for a special place, stop looking. You have found it.

Home was great, well appointed and stocked with everything you would need - great kitchen and appliances even a fresh coffee bean coffee brewer, computers in all the bedrooms, large lani with big screen tv and awesome views, great service from the rental agents. It met all our expectations for a one of our best Hawaii vacations.

Our trip to Halenani was spectacular from the moment we walked through the doors and were struck by the awesome views that can be seen from almost every corner of the wide open layout of this home. Beyond the views this home was in immaculate condition throughout and the owners have thought of everything in providing for themselves and those lucky enough to rent this home for a vacation. The bedrooms were spread out and afforded privacy while the main living areas were open to the beauty of the island and beyond. The pool and entertainment options were a hit with the kids and the kitchen was a hit with the cooks! The property managers were also extremely helpful and responsive.
Pictures in the listing barely do this house justice and no one in our party had any interest in leaving this property at the end of our stay. We all found it the clear highlight of our almost three week Hawaiian trip after staying at the St Regis on Kauai and the Four Seasons on Maui for our first two stops. We hope to return some day again soon with the Halenani Estate being a prime draw.

I was delighted that my family consented to try the Big Island for our semi-annual Hawaii vacation, as it is far and away my favorite place on the planet. Any apprehension someone in our group of 9 may have had about our destination was immediately dismissed upon stepping inside this glorious estate. Halenani is simply the finest vacation property I have ever had the pleasure to visit, and that includes many of the world's finest hotels and resorts. The design, layout, amenities, comfort, ambience, location - all absolutely first rate.
The estate has been maintained in immaculate condition, so much so that we all felt truly privileged to be able to stay in such a beautiful home. The only thing I'd change is the duration of our stay - one week is not enough when surrounded by such splendor! Many thanks for sharing your lovely residence with us. We definitely hope to return someday.

I hosted a family reunion for 4 families and 14 people and was blessed to have found this property through VRBO. The house far exceeded our expectations, and the rooms, layout, amenities, fixtures, pool and jacuzzi and landscaping are much much nicer when experienced in person than portrayed in the pictures.
My first comment is that this property is the owner's personal home on the Big Island, and is not a property that was purchased for rental purposes. They clearly put a lot of work into the architectural flow of the house and aesthetic features. We has 14 people in our party and all were easily and comfortably accommodated in the 6 beautifully appointed bedrooms. The common living room, media room, dining room and kitchen areas & outdoor deck/lanai were all ample with comfortable furniture throughout. The fantastic pool was a daily attractor for the entire family, and the stargazing at night from the pool deck / lanai is simply awesome.
Despite the many attractions of the Big Island, the house was really the centerpiece of our stay, and cited by all as one of the best memories we will take away from this family vacation.
The property managers were super helpful, responsive and gracious - and went out of their way with helpful suggestions on beaches, activities, etc. The house has been kept in immaculate condition, as it is primarily a home for the owners and not just a designed-for-rental property.
I will recommend this particular house to any of my friends that are visiting the Big Island. You get the luxury of a Four Seasons type property, but you can house a very large party under 1 roof.

My family spent a week at Halenani and had the best week. There were 14 of us. 10 adults and 4 children. The house is simply amazing. The house had the most amazing bedrooms and a professional kitchen. Great infinity pool, beautiful pool and fantastic views. Will come back next year. We spent 20 unbelievable days at Halenani. We had friends for half and family for the other. EVERYONE was amazed at the property, views, kitchen and pool. Not to mention the bedrooms and outdoor living. The main part of the home opens up and you are virtually in paradise inside and out. This is the perfect place for entertaining a large group. Enjoy the built in entertainment systems. Especially the selection of music that can play throughout the home. We searched long and hard for place that would accomodate 14 people and it did not disappoint.

We stayed at 'Halenani' for a week-long period and
were very very pleased. The house is not only
beautiful but there was so much for us to do there.
The pool was great for everyone and I loved the
kitchen - it's huge! The bedrooms are well-
appointed and each of them is unique. We had a
party of 9 - 6 adults, 3 kids - and we didn't even
need three of the bedrooms. The separate A/C
units were terrific and the bathrooms are nice with
walk-in lava showers. Kids loved the main media
room and the video game room in the kids area. All
in all we had an excellent stay and will soon be
returning!
