UNBEARABLE!
From 8am to 10 pm ? It was none stop strike. They sang ALL DAY right under the window .
When I asked the host to cancel so I can go somewhere else and SLEEP. She says to use my travel insurance and didn’t offer any type of solution. .
I called VRBO and they moved me to a hotel
The balcony is lovely yet ? I couldn’t enjoy none of it cause of the noise level and craziness in the streets. She knew the strike was going on socks it’s been 32 days . Make sure the strike is over before booking as the host will NOT budge whatsoever .
This apartment felt like a bait and switch
My week “ vacation “ was ruined and I was happy to leave. Thank you VRBO resolution team for helping efficiently . I don’t think this listing should be live until the strike is over. This was a torture.

We loved our stay at this condo. It was close to beach, lagoon and shopping. The owners were attentive and quick to reply. Mahalo

Would stay again. Photos are exactly as the unit was.
Pros: Extremely clean, bright, and open. Close to beach and restaurants. Great view of the Hilton lagoon. Variety of shopping & eating places on lobby floor including a mini mart which is very handy for those last minute needs. Host was quick to respond.
Cons: Elevators have been an issue both times we've stayed at the Ilikai. Two of them were under repair this time so wait times were 15-30 minutes depending on time of day. Find your patience. Previous reviews about the hard mattress are spot on. I like a more firm bed so it didn't bother me a bit. The AC unit seemed newer and kept things cool (min of 68), but you would want to keep shades drawn all day in the summer months as the room warms up quickly with the sun beating in. TV remote still doesn't work to turn it on etc but who sits in their room on vacation watching TV. Not a dealbreaker for me.
Overall a great place to stay. Wish it had parking included as it's pricey for the garage and the harbor parking out back took several laps around to find open spots.
Side note: Do not attempt to borrow the luggage carts from the hotel. There was one just sitting in the corner, but we were unaware they were for "hotel" guests only and were promptly made to remove our luggage and haul 7 bags up ourselves.

Pros: the view from the lanai is stunning. We had morning sun to enjoy our coffee on the lanai. The condo is very close to the beach and within walking distance of many restaurants and activities. The room was clean and the owner was timely at responding to messages.
Cons: the room overall is very sparse, as pictured. I’ve stayed in other condos where they leave a spice a rack, swim toys on the balcony, extra towels, cleaning supplies, paper towels, etc. So if you’re only staying for a few days, it’s quite a lot to go buy in preparation for your stay. The tv power and volume buttons don’t work so you have to get manually change them on the tv. We don’t watch a lot of tv, so it wasn’t the end of the world, but it wasn’t convenient either. The futon wasn’t comfortable, so if you’re planning on utilizing it as an extra bed, you may want to really consider it.
Overall, the location is amazing and paradise is steps away from your room.

We were excited to be staying at the Ilikai again, since we had been the year before. Communication with the host was great. However, they need to invest some money into this property big time. Everything was outdated. The curtains were stained, uncomfortable bed (sheets, pillows, and mattress), no pictures or anything on the walls, no stools to eat at the kitchen counter, and it was much smaller than anticipated. The toilet was slow to flush and the kitchen sink drained very slow. The AC was a big issue for me. It was over 80 degrees in Waikiki when we went and the host directions said that we couldn't turn the air on lower than 70, to turn it off when we leave the room, and if it breaks then we were responsible for paying for it. They must have been having problems with it since there were metal containers on the patio to catch the water dripping. The host was quick to respond, which was appreciated and they tried to right the wrongs by sending someone in to look at the AC (who said he couldn't do anything) and they offered to send a plumber. We were not happy at all with the stay, especially for the amount that we paid. We cut our stay here short and moved to a different location for the remainder of our trip. Great location and view of the lagoon, beach, and fireworks. I really do appreciate the communication, efforts, and understanding from the host but it needs a serious renovation.

Booked last minute and they let us check in early. Host was quick to communicate, everything was as shown in the photos, except the view, which was better in person. Everything was clean and comfortable, and we found it to be a good value… a rarity in Waikiki.

Location and view excellent. Kitchen dated, carpet shows it’s age.
On arrival, garbage from previous guests was full.
Overall O K for the price.

The apartment looked nothing like the pictures we saw on Homeaway. The carpet is filthy, gross and extremely dirty, the sheets were so stretched out they wouldn't stay on the bed at night, the property manager would not get back to us in a timely manner especially when we asked for a refund due to us having to catch a flight back home because of the Coronavirus pandemic. We are still waiting to hear back about a refund for 6 days we didn't get to use. It has been very frustrating and upsetting that the property manager seems to be dragging his/her feet and not giving us our credit. We had to leave because more and more flights were getting canceled by the hour and day plus we received an email stating we should change our flight back to home due to this pandemic. We definitely will return to Hawaii at some point to have a real experience of the islands and a better honeymoon experience but we won't use this property again. Thank you Justin and Megan Scott

Convenient and comfortable condo near Waikiki Beach. It was our first visit to Oahu/Waikiki, and this condo in the Ilikai Hotel/Condominium was a good base. Nice view from lanai over Hilton Lagoon and out to the beach - perfect for watching the Fri. night fireworks on the beach! Condo had pretty much everything we needed, though it could use some updating, especially the carpet and the kitchen area. We enjoyed the facilities at the Ilikai, including the nice heated pool and the Cinnamon Restaurant.

Ilikai apartments are in a good location - walking distance to beach, Waikiki and shopping mall. Apartment has great view looking out over Hilton lagoon and to the beach.
Apartment is functional - wonderful to have a kitchen, big comfy bed. It is however dated and tired.
