I wrote an entire page on the plane back home, but want to spare you all such a long, detailed letter of complaints. The following will provide an idea of what our frustrations were caused by:
The nicer lobby and outside areas of the property do not match the dated rooms that need a big-time renovation. Old carpeting, difficult faucets, found LIVE roach in bedroom. We did not receive great service from the majority of the staff, but there were a couple that made a difference (pool restaurant server the first night and woman that checked us out the last day). COVID was used as an excuse for many areas that they should not be skimping on (Gym and housekeeping), especially when staying for 6 nights! Anytime we needed anything from the front desk, there was a huge line and we didn’t wait (other than for check in which took an hour) since speed was not on anyone’s mind. There was no beach to hang out on, since the tide came all the way up to the wall. There was no pool service avail except when we tried to sit in an area where apparently we weren’t supposed to, yet NO one sat there the entire day.
We had a good vacation since we left the hotel each day and made the best of it ourselves. We tried a new spot, since our Westin timeshare wasn’t avail, and that was a lesson learned!
