First, we have stayed at this property 3 times in the last 2 years. Property is fantastic and well maintained. This unit, K202 is not clean, not well maintained, and very much outdated - pictures are deceiving. First, was called 2 weeks prior to arrival to be notified that the AC was out and would not be fixed until after our departure date. Agreed via a waiver to have a window AC unit, that never happened. No window unit! We had fans going non stop. Then the unit was not ready at 4pm on our check-in date. Even though I called as directed before we left tHe airport area, had to leave a message as no one answers the number given. Then once on property, maintenance came to fix guest room closet, came to fix the dishwasher, the toaster had to be replaced and I paid for the ultimate beach package, only to get alot of new beach items with no where to store them. The unit needs a heavy deep clean, as the sofa is gross, the air vents are covered in lent, the dryer exhaust forces hot air in the unit. Lent goes everywhere, which is dangerous, as the lent is all over the water heater causing a fire hazard.Long and short, I would highly discourage anyone from staying in this unit until they put some work into the unit repairs, clean it throughly, and please do not advertise AC, when clearly, that is not an option.Pictures of the unit are old, does not reflect what your actually renting in this unit.

Great location- beautiful property/ unit could use some updating and it definitely needed some cleaning. The timer on the air conditioner was quite annoying…we would wake up in the middle of the night hot and would have to reset it. The property manager contacted us out of the blue and asked about the sc because the previous renter complained about it not working. He suggested tricks to us to make it work if it stopped and said it wasn’t repaired because it’s very costly. I thought that was odd! The location and size of unit were great! I think the cleaning crew is very careless because the owners closet was left unlocked with the key in the door! We would never mess with someone’s belongings but that should have been locked for the owners saje

Our stay at Papakea was amazing. The unit itself is not newly renovated, but the functionality, cleanliness and overall layout suited our family of 4 perfectly. There were plenty of beach chairs, Boogie boards, sand toys and life jackets. The resort itself is great for families as it is completely quiet after 10pm. The kitchen provided us with the comforts of our own home as there were plenty of pots, pans and small appliances. Watching the ocean from the lanai was a fine way to enjoy our morning coffee each day. This is a place we will definitely look at coming back to in the near future.
Overall, the property was a good value for the price. Our check-in time was moved from 3pm to 4pm the day before we arrived, and our flight landed much earlier that day around 9am, so a bit of waiting until we could get into the room.
A few cabinets that were difficult to open/close due to the microwave and oven, but otherwise functional kitchen. Some cockroach sightings over the course of our stay, so it is important to store any food items in the fridge.
Beautiful grounds and great location! Walking distance to delicious food trucks and restaurants, and the grocery store across the street which is very convenient.

We certainly enjoyed our stay at Papakea Resort. It was quiet and peaceful room with a great view from the balcony. Not happy with having to pay $15 for parking in the resort lot however.

Beautiful as always. The property is excellently maintained and our unit K-202 was wonderful. We love staying at Papakea so much we’ve been there 4 times now. The location is so close central to all fun and shopping. Definitely coming back. Rob, Liz, David and Lily.
The condo was described perfect. It had everything we needed to enjoy the 10 days.
The property is I. A wonderful resort. No beach in front but a lovely green space on the water and within the property.
The actual condo has a good layout. Both both rooms need an refresh (deep clean on showers and tubs and NEW shower curtains - moldy).
The kitchen was jam packed with small appliances but there was no room to put dry goods. No wine glasses, one of the cupboards did not close, cockroaches in Lower kitchen cupboards.
Generally a good place to rent.
Hadn't been to Maui in years. Hadn't stayed at the Papakea in 20 years. Papakea has undergone many renovations since last time we visited. All for the better. This is a great location and the resort is especially good for families. Easy access to everything.
All the units are different so check the pics carefully. The unit we stayed in was well appointed and had the BEST views we've ever had. Good time!
We love it up near Kapalua. But prices are a little higher. This fit the bill. Walking distance to beaches stores coffee and restaurants. Great pool area w a nice big jacuzzi that’s kept warmer than most and about six gas webbers that the maintenance people clean every morning. Lanai next to pool is great for a sunset bbq out of the wind. We’ll equipped kitchen and outdoor deck overlooks pool and beach. I’d definitely stay again. Mahalo
The description is spot on. The views are amazing. It was clean. We stayed with our two adult children. There is plenty of room to spread out. I can't wait to come back.
Excellent accommodations. Sitting on the balcony with a view of the ocean was our favorite part. The pool and games around the property was fun too. We had to drive to a sandy beach otherwise this was a great rental.
Our stay was wonderful! Place had all the amenities you could ask for. Amazing view from balcony and master bedroom. Grounds were kept clean and very well maintained! My teens loved the quick walk to the food truck lot! Highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful week!
WELL APPOINTED! We looked through reviews to see if there were beach towels and brought our own anyway. NO NEED, everything is here! The location was great and yes, the pool got loud a couple of nights but it never went late and we joined a party one night. The location was so good for our needs and having grass all the way to the waves was perfect. No sand to deal with! If there is anything to be improved, the paper products are pretty cheap. If that is worse thing I can say, that says it all! We used the food trucks, grocery store and unfortunately even the pharmacy. All right next to us! I was worried we wouldn't get the exact same room as in the picture but that is truly the room. Great location in the resort!
This property was wonderful. Felt like you were staying at a friend’s place, who made sure you had everything you needed. Favorite part was the view from the master bedroom bed! All you saw was blue ocean and palm trees. Loved the location of the unit within the property and mostly the view. Only drawback was the pool was pretty loud in the evenings but then again it was spring break so a lot more little kids then usual. And by 9-10 pm the noise was no longer an issue. Will definitely stay in this condo again!
We stayed over Spring Break with our 2 teen girls. The location was perfect with a view that was simply perfect out over the pool and ocean. This condo is stocked with everything that you could need. We had some initial confusion on how to operate the AC and they had the local on-site support there within an hour. He was great and even dropped off some boogie boards for us the next day when he saw we didn’t have any. The convenient location of the complex to shopping and restaurants can’t be beat, and the daily activities were such a nice touch as well.
Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to any families looking for a great time in paradise!
