This is the best location in Kona. The beach has shade trees, a perfect reef and is never crowded. Truly a gem.

We only stay with 2Papayas on the Big Island. Mary & Marley have provided excellent properties and service for years. We stay with them every year. I'm not sure how many times we've stayed at Honu House, but it's in the double digits at this point. The house is spotless, well-stocked, and very comfortable.We super appreciate the fragrance-free cleaning and laundry products. Any minor issues are handled immediately. The location is unbeatable. We barely left the house/beach in our 3-week stay.
We had a wonderful time in this absolutely stunning home. Our host Mary was the most accommodating host we have ever had on VRBO. She was so helpful and all the tips for restaurants and activities were spot on. The location is incredible and steps away from a one of the best beaches (Beach 69) on the island! The entire trip was magic! We will for sure return to this home or look to 2 Papayas for other locations they host. Book this place, you will not be disappointed.

A great place for two couples. Nicely appointed, well located.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week with another couple. We loved the layout of the house. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and is on the opposite sides of the main living room and kitchen, so it feels separated and private. The balcony is lovely and the grounds are beautiful. It’s a two minute walk to the most beautiful secluded bay. The beach has soft sand, plenty of shade and incredible snorkeling. One of our favorite features is the outdoor shower, which has warm water! The house is beautifully decorated and Mary is a dream to work with. Very communicative and accommodating! We will definitely be back!

We have stayed at Honu House multiple times and it is always perfect! The location is paradise - we spend most of our vacations between the house and the beach. No need to go anywhere else! We love eating on the lanai. The house is spotless with very comfortable beds, good pillows, a well-stocked kitchen, and fragrance-free laundry products. Mary and her team are excellent. We only stay with 2 Papayas when we come to the Big Island.
The Honu House was by far the nicest rental we’ve stayed at in HI. The location can’t be beat. The house was spotless upon our arrival, the beds comfy. Honu had everything we could want or need. Want gorgeous sunsets? This is the place to be! Fresh Meyers limes grown just outside the front door for your papayas and mai tais? They’re here! Perfect weather, lovely trade winds, adorable geckos on the lanai,so many birds! We will be back!
I am hesitant to share how perfect the location was (especially for me traveling with 3 teen girls), as it could make it harder to book in the future...
The check in process, house and location were perfect. I didn't really want to leave the house and we walked to the beach multiple times a day. Loved everything about it.

Had a wonderful escape to sunny Waialea Bay for some much needed R&R. The house is adorable, updated and clean. Beds are super comfy. The location was perfect for us. Close to the beach yet still private. The yard was cared for nicely and was a great place to sit when the wind picked up. Mary is very communicative and wonderful to work with. Would 100% return in the future.

We first stayed at the Honu house in 2016 & this is our 4th stay. We have also stayed at least three times at the Ehu Kai house, twice at the Kolea house, and once at the Blue Makai house. As always, the house was perfect and the 2Papayas crew was friendly & helpful. Staying at Beach 69 with 2Papayas is our go-to relaxing vacation. The beach is stunning, with mild to no surf, snorkeling, and plenty of shade. Honu House is perfectly set up for families or two groups traveling together. The kitchen is well-equipped, the beds are very comfortable, and everything is spotless. My favorite feature of staying with 2Papayas is their dedication to using unscented cleaning and laundry products. Vacation rentals often reek of highly scented cleaning products, air fresheners, scented trash bags, dryer sheets, etc. At Honu House, and at the other 2Papayas properties we've stayed at, all you smell is the scent of the plumeria and gardenia being carried on the ocean breeze. We are booked to come back to Honu House paradise in six months.
