Located in the oceanfront B Building, the entire unit faces outwards over the Pacific Ocean through a fifteen foot length glass door. The first thing visitors say is, “oh god, it looks exactly like the pictures. Wow.”
Through the door, the lanai has a view that makes even the locals say, "wow." Even the professional pictures I had done don’t do the experience justice. You will fall in love with it instantly, it is truly amazing.
The lanai is the perfect place for you to relax and find peace watching the ocean, easily spot whales playing in the Pacific, watch the unobstructed sunsets, and stargaze and relax. You can also bbq under the sun from the privacy of your own lanai, which is rare on Maui.
In front of the condo is Chang’s beach, more commonly referred to as “turtle town.” If you take a snorkel tour of South Maui, those boats will likely take you to these shores to experience some of Maui’s most lively snorkeling. You will see turtles if you snorkel here, they are everywhere at Chang’s. Many guests have taken themselves on their own whale watch trip by paddle boarding in the morning. (Paddleboards and Kayaks are not provided, they must be rented).
Walking back through the lanai, the condo provides its own luxuries. A modern and comfortably furnished living room is the perfect place to spend your morning eating breakfast while listening to the ocean waves crash. The kitchen is fully equipped for you, while the BBQ is also only steps away from the dining room.
The kitchen, dining area, and living area were all recently furnished and remodeled in the Fall of 2023. The furniture is a mix of classic brand names and has incredible style.
Each bedroom has its own separate full bathroom.
Not to miss a game or an episode, the living room also features an entertainment center with a 65 inch Samsung LED SmartTv as well as an Roku, a Bose sound bar, and a "take one, leave one" book library. Both the living room and bedroom TVs have cable and RokuTv.
Just out the front door of the B Building are a heated pool and hot tub exclusively for guests of the Makena Surf B building, perfect for floating in the sun or soaking your body after a day spent on the sand. Adjacent to the pool are two well-maintained tennis courts, pickle...

At first there was some hesitation over a couple of the reviews. But Peter assured us everything was taken care of. He even sent updated photos and a video to me personally. We have stayed at Makena Surf many times. His property, by far, is the best that we have seen.
We had no issues at all checking in. Easiest process ever.
The condo was immaculate. Everything looked even better than the photos.
Everything you will need is provided. Internet worked great and had good speed. A/C worked great and kept us cool. The kitchen was well stocked and had most everything you may need.
The guest bathroom showerhead needed to be replaced. Not only did Peter call me back immediately, but offered to fix it that night. He came first thing the next day. Shower works great!
We didn’t have any other issues.
When we decide to return to Maui, he will be the first person that I call. Great to work with and the condo was wonderful.

The place was located in Makena with beautiful view of ocean. It was in an excellent condition and quiet. The host was very accommodating. We are hoping to stay there again next year. Mahalo.

In addition to location, we chose this property because of the lovely interior photos on VRBO when we booked and which remain online now. But the living and bedroom furnishings were very different from the beautiful photos and not to our taste or comfort. The closet doors were removed to reveal oversupplied linens and toiletries, which should have been stored off-site. The master bath photo had a window with a view of the ocean, which had been replaced with a wall. And cleaning supplies and equipment were stored in view on the lanai, in the living room and bathrooms - not what we expected for an expensive property.

Absolutely stunning balcony/lanai to whale watch ( and we saw lots everyday!), and amazing sunsets as well. We spent lots of time out there for dinners and drinks. Beach access was great and pool and hot tub was nice. Bed were comfy and condo was well equipped.
