Property was nice but the timeshare was a little dirty
Easy access and lot of great amenities like pool and tennis.
We really enjoyed our stay. Clean and well stocked. The pool is wonderful and steps away from the beach. No noise and no roosters at 5am! The beds are comfortable and we even slept on the Lanai one night.
You'll love it.
My wife just retired and this was the trip to celebrate. We stayed for 2 weeks and couldn't have made a better choice.
The condo is amazing and the location is even better. You can watch the sunset every night and the location makes it easy to go anywhere on the island from Lahaina to Hana.
We had a wonderful time here as the location cannot be beat. The resort grounds are pristine and amenities are very well looked after. The pool and hot tub were spotless and a joy to use and the beach was about 250 steps away from the building. Our lanai had the best view you could ask for, both for watching sunsets with a glass of wine in hand and the waves rolling in. Beds were comfortable and all the necessary kitchen equipment for cooking with. The four stars regarding cleanliness could probably be solved easily by the cleaning staff being a bit more through but not a big issue to our stay at the condo. We would be happy to visit again in the future and would recommend this place.
If you want to rent from an honest person, we would advise you to look elsewhere. We stayed here for six nights and took care to follow all of the owner’s instructions (including leaving shoes outside). But the cleaner found some sand in the couch (this is a beachfront property and kids do get sand in their waistbands, for example). The owner announced that because “cleaning took longer than usual” she was charging us the full damage deposit. So in addition to the already huge cleaning fee we paid on booking, she stole an additional 2x from us (sorry, VRBO won’t let us include. The actual amounts here). Either her cleaning person is earning $400k/year, or this owner is treating damage deposits as a profit center. This is blatant theft.
Great view but tiny tv(for 2022) with very pour audio.
This condo has a nice view of the pool and ocean. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals. The space was plenty for our family of 4 (2 small children). Beds and linens were comfortable. A good amount of sand toys, snorkel gear, pool noodles, and beach chairs were available. We rented a pack n play through a company on the island. I recommend renting an umbrella too if you plan to spend time exploring the beaches. The building itself has nice amenities—a good pool and hot tub. The condo has a nice location close to the elevator but not noisy. More than enough great restaurants within 5 and 10 min drives. Communication was very easy. Thanks!
Let me start by saying the overall experience was very good and I would recommend this place. First the good
- Location is amazing. Beach right there and very walkable to downtown Kihei.
- Great view
- Lots to do in and around the complex
- Communication with Sherry was great
The minor issues
- WiFi in the condo was really bad. I could only get a signal if I was in the main room. Anywhere else the signal was non-existent so no WiFi and cell coverage (AT&T for me) was weak in that area so internet was an issue. Sherry was aware of this issue and looks like she plans to get it fixed.
- Cleanliness. While the place was clean overall there were some spot issues. The floors both in the condo and out on the patio were extremely dirty, likely had not been cleaned in a long time. I found a mop and cleaned the floors, we stayed for a month and didn't require a second cleaning so seeing how dirty they were when I arrived I have to assume it has been a long time since the floor was mopped.
A couple of other minor cleanliness issues, none of which were show stoppers, just annoying given the $$ of the rental I would expect a bit more.
We had a amazing visit to Maui and the Maui Sunset is a great location in Kihei. My family loved the pool and playing shuffle board & pickle ball, and seeing the turtles on the beach at sunset.
The kitchen in our condo was well stocked, and had lots of beach extras (chairs, cooler, boogey boards, etc). However the beds were uncomfortable, the unit wasn't super clean (especially windowsills!) and the wall mounted air conditioners are so loud, and auto shut off every 4 hours so you wake in the night hot and have to restart them. Unfortunately due to the way the condo is laid out there is not way for the trade winds to reach bedrooms so you have to use the noisy air conditioners during hot weather.
