We could not be happier at the kahana reef. Everything was wonderful.
I love staying in Kahana Reef. The condo we rented met all of our needs.
We had a great trip. Overall the place did the job for us. Beautiful view and nice property. Good location a short walk or drive away from anything needed. I’d stay here again. Good cross breeze in the bedroom which is important wifi no a/c in the unit.
The balcony/lanai view was incredible!!!
We enjoyed our stay so much!! We loved being so close to the water and the condo was quiet and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!!!
Absolutely stunning oceanfront view from the lanai, tons of sea turtles grazing on the sea wall (put the aquarium to shame), it had everything we needed. This was our first trip to Maui with a toddler, and we ended up spending a lot more time at the condo than on previous trips. I cannot stress enough how much we appreciated the view and amenities (we were pleasantly surprised to find smart TVs, seasonings, rice cooker etc.),
especially traveling with a little one. We enjoyed most of our meals (take out or grilled/ made at the condo) from the lanai. The beach chairs, umbrella and cooler were all in mostly great condition (built in chair cooler zippers were corroded shut, but that always happens with those chairs so no big deal). Ran a load of laundry (quarters or app for payment) once during our 10 night stay and it was a breeze, did not miss having an in unit W/D. Loved the proximity to our favorite beaches and the relaxed atmosphere of Kahana.
My only suggestions, which
were not brought to managements attention, because they didn't significantly impact our stay:
- curtains should be replaced, and blackout curtains should be in the bedroom (very bright covered exterior walkway lights)
- shower liner should be replaced
- unit could use a deep clean
Again, none of these things impacted our stay and they weren't brought to managements attention, because they just weren't that big of a deal to us.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay and hope to stay here again!
We enjoyed staying here for two weeks! The crown jewel of this property is the view. The complex is quiet and respectful. The side beach access was a wonderful surprise bonus, and the pool was great for the kids. The unit provided plenty of lawn chairs, a cooler, and umbrella for use.
Our bed was comfortable and the unit was relatively clean, however, I can’t say I’ve ever been asked to provide my own cleaning products to care for someone else’s investment so that was a bit strange. They did have a broom and vacuum cleaner, and dish soap.
One of the two things we truly disliked about this stay was the light filtering into the bedroom from the exterior (complex) hallway. If you need a dark room to sleep, an eye mask is an absolute must. The other thing—if you intend to cook— was that the pots and pans are awful. The nonstick is so scratched up and no amount of butter or oil could help the metal pans. I did not complain to the host or give him a chance to fix this, but hopefully he will.
Otherwise, very good communication from the host! I would stay here again knowing what I know now with a little extra prep.
Nice quiet location. We watched whales, turtles and beautiful sunsets from the lanai every day. The chairs, umbrella and towels for the beach were really nice to have available. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you!
For the sounds of the waves on the balcony alone, this place could win a Grammy. For the view from the balcony, it could win an Oscar.
