Loved the location, across from great snorkeling. I think I expected the home to be a bit nicer, considering the price. The two floors are identical, which feels a little less nice?
Everything was excellent but I wish there was A/C. Plenty of fans though!
This rental unit could not have been more perfect for our group. It was roomy enough to fit our group of 9 and not feel cramped at all. Very well appointed as we prepared most of our meals at the house. The views from the lanai's are spectacular, especially the sunsets. The snorkeling across the street at Kahalu'u Beach Park was the best of all the places we swam. The house is conveniently located with easy access to several markets and grocery stores.The owners were wonderful to work with. We had a Tsunami warning while there and Cheryl was on top of it. She helped us with where to go and what to do and how to be safe when it hit. Very Very grateful for the communications during the crisis and for the whole stay in general.We had a wonderful trip, would rent this unit again and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. This experience is the epitome of what a VRBO rental should be. Can't say enough great things about our experience here.
Loved it just didn’t know there was no air conditioning
This property is just as described in the listing. It is clean, private and has all the necessary items you need for cooking meals and enjoying your time on Hawaii. We had plenty of room to spread out and relax. The cherry on top is Kahalu’u beach which is directly in front of the house. Morning snorkeling was the best! We will definitely return!
This was a great location! Right across from a great snorkel spot. The unit had some gear to borrow but we ended up renting some better gear. The view from the top balcony was amazing, beautiful views of the water, the morning rainbows and loads of birds in the area. Parking was sufficient, the driveways are all tight here but our large car had no issues. Great host! She was super communicative and nice :)
You stay here because of the location. Being a short walk away from some excellent snorkeling and beautiful views are the standouts of this Vrbo. It is also a short drive to downtown Kona and to a nearby shopping area with a grocery store. The accommodation itself is dated and would be surprised if it was ever updated and there are aspects of the house the need a refresh especially considering the price point of the home. Furthermore given the 400 cleaning fee I would expect the home to be spotless upon arrival but it was not. If you are looking for a pleasant and simple place near a prime snorkeling spot this is your place. But its cost point and lackluster accommodation quality would have me looking at other options in the future.
House was in excellent repair. Everthing was clean and working properly. Host communication was quick and welcoming. Thanks for letting us use your home, we had a great visit!
It would be impossible to find a better location. Snorkeling beach is directly across the street. Easy drive to town, the airport, and other interesting places. And a nice home with king sized beds and 4 bathrooms! Everything you need!
We had everything we needed, plenty of snorkeling gear, right next to the beach, my kids & Grandkids loved it! House was stocked with everything we needed!

The location was absolutely amazing. Views of the ocean, across the street from the beach, a short drive to downtown. Everything about this stay was absolutely perfect and we can’t wait to come back!!!!
Overall very happy with with everything. Amazing views from both lanais especially 3rd floor. Lots of whale activity this year, so exciting. Excellent communication with property owner/manager. We would stay here again. Mahalo
Our family of 8 stayed in the top two floors of the home, which is just a long driveway from Ali'i Drive, and then across the street to Kahulu'u Beach. It worked out very well for us! A kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms on each floor plus boogie boards and water shoes to share. There are several homes along the driveway, ruins of an old heiau on Ali'i, and snorkeling at the beach. A relaxed place to spend a week!
there were nine of us, ages 10 to 67, we all enjoyed the house. It was very comfortable and well maintained. The view from the lanai was incredible. The location was perfect, we'd walk to beach and snorkle. Close to shopping, night life and harbor.
Group of 7 adults. We had a great stay at this place. Home is clean, spacious, has everything you need but you need to bring your own toiletries. Short drive to town, great snorkeling beach right across the street and amazing views from the balconies. Host was responsive and helpful. Would recommend and stay again. Thank you!

This house has an incredible view and location. It’s so great to be able to walk down the driveway and be at an incredible snorkeling beach. It is also a good size and layout for multi-generational families traveling together.
There are a few cons I would have liked to have known prior to booking. The house is worn out, some of the furniture is broken and sinking (the owner notified me 2 days after checking in that the futon was broken and not to use it), the dishes are chipped, and the landing to the front door is a serious liability that is about to fall through. Secondly, the owner watches you on their outdoor camera in the yard. I was contacted on day 2 of my 7 day stay and asked to not sit on the outdoor patio set at the bottom of the stairs, this set is right in the middle of the space we are “allowed” to use. There is no sign or note in the thorough house rules book that states this. Lastly, you pay a cleaning fee but are still expected to do your dishes, take out the trash and put the dirty laundry in the laundry baskets. On top of that, we had to wash all the dishes prior to using because they were put away in the cupboards dirty!

This house was set in a wonderful location! We were able to snorkel and rent surfboards right across the street! It was perfect. There is a grocery store within 5 minutes and you are able to cook in if you want. At first we were nervous about no air co di Orion if but don’t let that scare you off! once you open the windows and turn the fans on it is perfect! The outside porches are also the perfect place to relax and watch the sun set!
This house was perfect for our large family! We were able to let our adult children and their significant others take the 2nd floor and we took the 3rd floor! It was very close to a very cool snorkeling location! We enjoyed the quick access to a beautiful beach! I got a little anxious raising for instructions for checking in however they sent it slightly early so that was nice!
Our stay was perfect, the host had excellent communication, the property is beautiful, amazing sunsets, perfect location, great mangoes in the backyard, great protected snorkeling right across the street. Spectacular.
Unclean but tidy. Some bedrooms have open wall at top and light switch in one room controls electricity in second. No mention of outside stairs and mobility challenge for older persons. Local contact did not send code until 2 hrs before check-in. They have rigid rules for 3 cars parking only but did not state until check in. Site check-in has wrong contact, he did not work for owner for 2 yrs. Local contact stated no others allowed in house but the 10 people. Site states no more overnight-no mention of day visitor rules. This means we could not attend our family dinner as we stayed at another location.
Good location and views. House needs an upgrade and new local contact team. AC would be good in the pm.
The house was great as well as the big island. We really enjoyed our trip. Property manager was fantastic and very accommodating. Couldn’t have been more pleased. Thanks again for working with us after a miserable flight that had us show up a day and a half later than planned.

this property is well located with shops nearby, good snorkelling across the road and central to most attractions around the island (as long as you have a car).
Well set up for large groups. The property is on 2 levels that are identical (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen & large living area on both levels).
Everything was satisfactory, but the beds, kitchen, bathroom and overall feel are old and tired. Definitely need an upgrade.
Also, top floor does not have ceilings in bedrooms, so light and sound from kitchen/living room travels to bedrooms.
Arrival instructions were disappointing. We only got the contact phone no. and final details on the morning we arrived which may be OK for some people, but when you've come from another country it's a bit disconcerting.
This was just perfect for us. Kids stayed on 1 level and adults on the other. Location was far enough from the hustle and bustle of Kona but close enough when you want to go into town. Sound of ocean drowned out the road noise from Ali'i Dr. Snorkeling was AMAZING.
