You can cancel for a full refund (see below) anytime prior to arrival. If your 60 days out then its and automatic refund. For those within 60 days: Go to your reservation on VRBO and submit a cancellation of the reservation. It will not automatically refund you anything, but once I receive the cancellation I will manually input a 100% refund AS SOON AS I CAN. I do not control what VRBO does with their service fee but every time I issue a 100% refund they fully refund their fee. This email is our agreement to the 100% refund and all you'd have to do is show VRBO this email and they will honor the refund if I didn't. It does take several business day for the refund to be processed.I cannot cancel you or VRBO dings me for cancelling a booked reservation. July 6, 2023 Dear Future Guests: I want to let you know that the HOA is going ahead with the exterior painting of the Konea Building. The painting company is scheduled to start on the outer units (not the interior courtyard which is where your unit is located) in late July 2023. They are painting the exterior of the building and not the interiors. They are not scheduled to paint the exterior of your unit (either Konea 403, Konea 503, Konea 703 or Konea 707) until next year. The tentative timeframes are: Konea 707 February/March 2024

If they are actively painting your lanai you will not have access to your lanai from 8 am to 4pm Monday thru Friday. Painters don't work weekends or holidays. The lanai furniture has to be wrapped in the plastic covering provided during the work hours. The guest is responsible for replacing the plastic covering on the lanai furniture if they remove it. So, you can use the lanai before and after they paint for the day, just not during. They will access the exterior of the building and the unit lanai's via a booms and not scaffolding. At the end of the day they lower the booms.
Here are your options: If they will be actively painting during your stay you can cancel for a full refund at any time prior to arrival. If you do not cancel and they are actively painting your unit’s lanai during your stay we will apply a 25% discount to your rate for those days. Our entire experience with Honua Kai was outstanding! From booking it, checking in and checking out we felt like we were valued guests. The condo was exactly as described and exceeded our expectations. Joe was there to greet us and even got us into the condo an hour early. After showing us the amazing view, we settled in and enjoyed ourselves. We used the pool every day and were very happy with all the employees who offered assistance during our visit. My family and I just returned from a week in this condo and our experience was outstanding. I rented a similar unit through Costco last year, and this property was a great improvement at a much lower cost. I want to compliment Joe and Rhonda on the entire process. The booking process was clear and easy. I received prompt emails with details along the way. I was met by Joe at the Honua Kai entrance upon arrival and he showed me all of the features of the unit, explained details of the resort, and provided his cell number for any questions during my stay.
The unit was fully stocked with nice dishes, glasses, cups, cookware, chairs, beach toys, two snorkel sets, a small cooler and a large cooler, nice appliances, comfortable beds, nice toiletries, real paper towels (Bounty) and toilet paper (Charmin), five large/think beach towels, and the list goes on. He even included a welcome bottle of champagne. I have stayed in many condos over the years and this one was better equipped than any of them. I give major kudos to Joe and Rhonda for helping make my stay a pleasant one.
When checking out, I we left three items in the closet and didn’t realize until we reached the airport. I texted Joe and he promptly replied he would take care of shipping the items back to me. A couple of days later, he texted me a picture of the items to ensure that was everything, and planned to ship them that day. I can’t say enough about his attention to detail and ensuring our stay was outstanding.
