Aloha and welcome to the Hale Kai Uli!
What exactly is the Hale Kai Uli? In the Hawaiian language hale means house, kai is the ocean and uli means blue. The House of the Deep Blue Sea.
The Hale Kai Uli is adjacent to a quiet stretch of sandy beach in sunny Kihei, Maui… just 500 feet from lanai to toes-in-the-ocean! Our 2 bedroom/1 bath condo can sleep 4 guests. We renovated and brought in all new furniture in Oct 2016. In Nov 2021 we upgraded the windows and installed a split AC unit so there is now individually controlled AC units in the living room and each bedroom.
Bedroom 1 offers a plush queen-sized gel-infused memory foam mattress and luxuriously soft sheets. Windows facing both east & west provide great cross-ventilation and a large wall-mounted oscillating fan will keep you cool as you sleep. There is extra counterspace with a large mirror for dressing and easy-to-access outlets including USB ports to charge your phones.
Bedroom 2 offers 2 twin-sized memory foam beds, a large dresser and closet space. A 32” SMART TV is set up with a BlueRay DVD player. Cable is not available on this TV but it is connected to the wi-fi so you can use your preferred streaming accounts. Cable is available on the living room TV which is also set up for you to access your streaming accounts.
In the bathroom you’ll find plenty of storage space and hooks for wet towels or toiletry bags. A hotel-style towel rack installed in the shower is the perfect place to drip dry wet swim suits. A hairdryer is provided.
Our kitchen comes fully equipped with stainless appliances and all the cookware, gadgets and serving dishes you would need to make a quick breakfast or a full dinner. You can also take advantage of two gas grills and full outdoor kitchen at the pavilion area near the pool.
You’ll find a dining table inside for those rare rainy nights but Hawaii living is all about being outdoors so we’ve provided a patio set large enough to accommodate 4 adults for a full dinner. A retractable shade will keep the lanai cool in the afternoon. And once the sun fades beyond the horizon, flip on the twinkle lights, pour a glass of wine, sink into the comfortable chairs and relax well into the night.
Tile flooring throughout helps keep the unit cool and the east & west facing windows allow you to take advantage of the breezes when the trade winds are blowing. There are multiple fans throughout the unit to keep you cool but ...

The store is literally the next building over! The beach is maybe 2 blocks off. And this beach is perfect for toddlers. Mg 2 year old loved the ocean. The waves weren’t big so she would walk right in to me, and it was very sandy and lovely. Pool was great (bring ur own life jacket). Charles young beach is a couple min drive down the way for some waves and snorkeling for our 10 year old who did some boogie boarding. And go to the farmers market and get some bbq and food. The locals are very appreciative of your support.

Our trip to the Valley Isle could not have gone any smoother and the memories made could not have been any more beautiful! Having Hale Kai Uli as our home base during our trip was more than we could have hoped for. To begin with, the location was so close to the ocean it felt almost beachfront, and in the opposite direction we had the convenience of grocery stores, small restaurants, and local shops all within a short walk. I appreciated being a few minutes outside of the main "Kihei hub" (i.e. Kamaole Beaches area) which provided for a quieter and less busy neighbourhood. Having the luxury of a ground-level unit, allowed for easy access to and from the lush grounds. We ate breakfast nearly every morning on the lanai, and bbq'd on a couple evenings around the pool using the community outdoor kitchen. The amenities inside the unit were above & beyond what we were expecting; the kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and accessories we needed for eating in & out of the unit (including a soft cooler, ice packs, and Tupperware for picnicking on our beach-day excursions). We made use of the beach accessories as well, which included beach chairs & umbrella, snorkels, masks & fins, boogie boards and other beach toys! The place itself was immaculate and both bedrooms were clean & comfortable. I really hope to return to Hale Kai Uli one day, and have been recommending the unit non-stop since our return. Mahalo to Staci, Matthew, and Jennifer for making our holiday so special!

This condo was great for our family of 4. The kids and adults had an amazing time. The condo was fully stocked with everything we could ever need for our almost 2 week stay.

My husband and five-yr old son and I spent a week here and had an amazing time. The condo is in a wonderful location for a family trip -- just a few steps to a great beach, great coffee shop, grocery store, and a ton of restaurants, and an easy drive to almost everything else -- and the amenities were great. If you're considering Kihei and don't need to hear the ocean from your bedroom, you cannot beat this place. The owners were very communicative as well. The only thing I wish I had known were to check the closet before we went to the store, as there was lots of sun screen and shampoo from previous guests.
