This was our family’s second trip to Kona, and we had a lovely time. The property was entirely as described. The kitchen was well equipped for all manner of meal prep - ncluding a very capable ice crushing blender for daiquiris. :). The beds and furniture were all fine and the appliances all functioned as expected- including very fast Wi-Fi.This location was much further south than we were last time which meant that a car was essential for getting into town. However it also meant trivial access to some of the very best snorkeling on the island. As divers we somewhat missed the beautiful lanai wall ladder we’d been fortunate enough to have last time but we were able to easily make the lanai rail work well to hold wetsuit hangers on the lanai side and dry our various neoprene without hanging anything over the rail. The location is also great for hopping quickly up to RT 11 to get into town instead of the slow way up Alii Dr.
With white sand beach across the street and the two condo buildings facing each other it can get a bit loud during the day (especially on the weekend) so you’ll want to keep that in mind if you’re looking for a more tranquil/quiet place. But it never prevented a post-dive nap in the bedrooms with the doors closed. And hearing the little kids playing on the beach and in the pool brought nostalgic smiles to our now teenager-having selves. :)
We had no issues at all which required any intervention from the owner, and overall simply had a wonderful stay.
Wonderful condo! Very clean, nicely furnished, across from a swimming beach and best of all has a spacious lanai where you can see and hear the ocean all day and night. I would love to stay here again. Mahalo Mitzi!

Our stay at Mitzi’s condo was very accommodating and comfortable. She filled all of our requests and was very pleasant working with. As soon as we got to the condo she called us to see how things were going with check in. Mitzi was right on top of arranging any coordinating of support for us with her very nice colleague Lorraine on the island. Lorraine is a gem and such a sweetheart. Thank you both. We really fely quite at home.

This place is exactly as prior reviews described. It is super convenient to shopping, dining options, and the beach across the street was great for everyone, including our two small kids.
The unit is really well stocked for cooking and packing picnic. The beach amenities were a huge bonus (2 beach umbrellas, cooler, toys, snorkel masks, 4 beach chairs) and we left some new pieces for travelers with small kids as well.
The property owner was so easy to communicate with and accommodative. Definitely one of the best VRBO experiences our family has had.
If you get a chance, book this place, you won't regret it!
This place was perfect for what we needed as a family. The rooms were perfect size, all the cooking utencils and fully stocked. There were snorkeling gear and beach chairs and everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We loved the view from the patio and the luxury of having the beach right across the road. We highly recommend this property.

This is the second time we've stayed at White Sands Village.
Mitzi's Condo has a great view of the beach and ocean, we spent a lot of time on the balcony watching the world go by.
The apartment is exactly like the photos and description, we loved our stay and hope to return in the future

This was the best place I have ever stayed in Kona, right across the beach, great condo, beach view, and as a cook enjoyed the Califon pans to cook in! Beds we super comfy, all the extras like beach chairs, cooler and umbrellas were awesome! Would stay here again! Place was clean and loved the games too! Great memories!!

Overall we enjoyed the condo. It is in a great location across the street from a swimmable beach. The property worked well for our family’s adventures on the west side of the island.
Unfortunately we did have several issues during our stay that we believe could have been avoided. When we opened the sofa bed for our teen to sleep, there were clearly dirty sheets still on the bed, and no spare clean sheets anywhere in the condo. This was 9:30 at night and there was no solution except to have my two adult sized teens share the queen bed. Not a big deal but if the listing offers another sleeping option it should be usable. To their credit Mitzi and Lorraine handled it promptly the next day with brand new sheets. That was also an issue which I’ll get to next.
The washing machine is a front load machine which is great. Unfortunately it’s covered in mold around the rubber gaskets in the front, and completely unusable. Everything I read online recommended NOT using this because the mold spores may spread to your laundry. I tried running a cycle with bleach as well as cleaning the machine, but nothing worked (also not something I loved doing on my vacation, but I wanted to wash the new sheets before my teen slept in them.) We needed up having to go to a laundromat in town to do our laundry as we had depended on the machine in the unit for a mid-stay wash.
These issues didn’t ruin our vacation but I would have liked to know this information prior to renting the unit, that is why I’m sharing them in this review. I hate to give them 3/5 stars but I feel it accurately represents the condo and issues we had.

The place is close to a lot of the fun places to go to especially great being close to the beach. The pool was really nice too.

These condos are situated in an ideal location in the South part of Kona across from the beach. Property had everything we needed for our stay. I enjoyed the pool several times and had we made the time, the outside grilling options are a nice amenity. My favorite was to sit out in the lanai eating breakfast and watching the beach goers. Would stay here again.
The condos are older but so well maintained & managed they don’t seem like it. The grounds are beautiful! Other owners were friendly. The view from the lanai is amazing & perfect for viewing the most amazing sunsets! All of the beds are really comfortable (even the pullout mattress, I was told it was new—it felt like a real bed & not an uncomfortable, thin little mattress that really shouldn’t be considered a bed)! This condo feels like the owners have equipped it for themselves & then left everything available for guests. Very generous of them. For others who care about tiny, painful details like I do : ) here they are….A/C is great & there are ceiling fans in the bedrooms & compact but powerful oscillating fans in every other room. We were there in August but were very comfortable.
Kitchen: I read that some things were provided but expected to have a whole list of “staples” that we’d need to pick-up—we didn’t. This isn’t just stocked appliance/dish wise but seasonings, special salt, pepper, oil, mayo, bbq sauce, hot sauces, butter, sugar, picnic supplies, ziplocs, paper plates & cups, etc. Some items may have been left from previous guests but there was nothing that was expired & we so appreciated that they we didn’t have to buy a whole container of sauce just so we could use a small amount for 1 meal—definitely saved us $.
Bathrooms: quality hair dryer, a few feminine products, sewing kit, shampoo/conditioner/body wash/multiple drug store type products. My daughter got a couple of mosquito bites & I happened to check the medicine cabinet before heading to the store & they even had Calamine! There are TVs in both bedrooms & the living room & a Roku device in the room with a queen bed (no cable in that room but our kids preferred the Roku). Great wifi.
Laundry—detergent, stain spray & dryer sheets. Extras: Hand sanitizer, sunscreen, boogie boards, snorkel sets, pool noodles, beach towels, beach chairs, etc. Convenient cordless dyson vacuum so I could tidy up during the week. Unit was very clean & quiet, heard absolutely no noise from neighbors. Lorraine was proactive, the power went out the day before we arrived & she left a note about the freezer (was concerned it wasn’t working) but we had no problem with it, she also left me a nice voicemail. Sounded like a sweet Auntie. Texted Mitzi at the last minute to see if we could arrive a few minutes early & she promptly & graciously replied. A wonderful, magical time for our family.
Centrally located, beautiful decor. Ironman competition effected our stay.
Clean, comfortable and great location!
The free trolley stops right outside the complex on on AIii Drive which made getting to town and the grocery store easy.
Hot tub and pool were great. Nice beach for body surfing right across the road. Kitchen was well maintained.
Overall Property is well maintained. Our condo 215 wasn’t the cleanest in our opinion. Rugs needed a good cleaning and the floors were not swept well when we arrived. But across from Magic Beach, covered parking, nice office staff, pool and grounds well maintained.
We did have a gorgeous view of the ocean from our lanai, which we enjoyed every day!
Great location. Loved the fact that we could drink coffee on the lanai and watch the surf every morning and then walk over whenever we wanted a quick swim. Condo is stocked with everything you need for a day at the beach.
