We had an absolute wonderful stay. The property was perfect, we had a party of 7. Views were spectacular and the turtles were amazing on our “private” beach. We lived here for 10 yrs back in the day and never saw this many turtles. Watch your step as you walk down! Tryg was a great host and super attentive. We’ll be back!!!!!
From the start of booking until the day we checked out, Tryg was there for every and any question. The place is spectacular. The turtles were so entertaining, the sunsets beautiful, made you really never want to leave the house. The pool and jacuzzi were perfect for our multi generational family ohana. The kitchen was stocked and Tryg had some goodies waiting for us when we arrived. First class from start to finish. You will be overwhelmed with the size and beauty of this house.
We didn't want to leave and cannot wait to return! This was easily the best family vacation stay we've had. We stayed here with six adults aged 70-35 and three kids aged 3-7. We had plenty of space to spread and hang out, perfectly private sleeping arrangements, cook/grill amazing meals, eat inside or out, swim to our hearts contents, whale watch, and sea so many sea turtles! The house is arranged to maximize the view and it does not disappoint. The house is well appointed with anything you'd need to enjoy the property or the beaches. Communicative and helpful host. Great coffee shop, a little market, and dining within 5 minute drive. Everything else West Maui has to offer within 20 minutes. Don't hesitate to book!

Everything about our stay at 15 Papaua Place lived up to our expectations. Our trip to Maui was in celebration of two 50th birthdays and included 4 adult couples. We spent countless hours sitting by the pool enjoying the endless whale activity and swimming off the private beach with the countless sea turtles. On our check in day, there were 52 on the beach. Yes, 52. The rooms were more than spacious and the house was fully stocked with everything you could possibly think of. Our hosts, Tryg and Barb, were accessible and responsive very accommodating. There are plenty of great places to eat within walking distance or a short drive, and most attractions on the island are within a few hour or two drive. We would not hesitate to booking this house again if we are lucky enough to return to Maui for another vacation. My wife considered this the trip of a lifetime. Much of this is attributed to the house, the whales, and turtles!

Great house, hosts were extremely responsive. Turtles on beach in front of house everyday- we counted 23! Difficult to snorkel at house due to waves but great snorkeling within a 5 min drive. Not easy to walk due to lack of shoulders on busy road but so many great things nearby. Highly recommend this house!

The home was as advertised. It was beautiful inside, great views of the ocean, very practical and everything worked perfectly. The location was near the beach grocery store/market, restaurants, hiking and golfing. We ate in most nights a the kitchen and BBQ were well equipped. I give it a 10. We do a trip annually with friends and this is the best place we have stayed. I highly recommend it for a group getaway!
It’s hard to put into words how incredible this property is. We stayed here with 8 adults ages 28-63, and two kids ages 2 & 4. We travel a lot as a family, and this was the nicest home and setting we have stayed in. We are truly looking forward to coming back!
The inside is updated beautifully, very well stocked (from kitchen to toiletries, to linens) and kept in pristine condition. The size of the house and en-suite bathrooms off of every room allowed for each couple to have plenty of space.
The true gem of the property is the outdoor living area, pool and rare view. The way the home is positioned provides an unobstructed view of the ocean making the home feel extremely private. The landscaping is thoughtfully laid out and maintained very well. It was such a treat to hear the waves at all times, and be able to see the ocean from just about every window of the house. Watching sunsets on the beach was a favorite part.
The home has direct ocean access (we swam and snorkeled) with a small sand area, just steps down the hill. This is where you can watch sea turtles any time of day, which was such a special experience.
While you never needed to leave the home, it was conveniently located near shopping, beaches and restaurants. The location couldn’t have been better!
Lastly, Tryg and Barb were exceptional hosts. They greeted us at the home and were available at all times. We greatly appreciated their hospitality, which made for an unforgettable vacation!
The hardest part of our vacation was having to leave this beautiful home - it is so hard to leave paradise.
This house is incredible.... located on the best cove in Maui with turtles everywhere. It was sometimes challenging to get in the water because the sandy beach was sometimes covered with turtles. This is some of the best snorkeling you will ever experience. The house is huge and obviously very well taken care of. It was well stocked with all the toys you will need and a pool and hot tub. The owner is incredibly accommodating and always available should any questions arise.
Our group of 5 couples meet up each year on a different Hawaiian island, but the consensus after our stay was that we found paradise and don't need to look anymore - we will definitely be back next year.
We stayed at the property for 7 days and our family of 6 were very happy with the house. The views, incredible sea turtles who have taken up residence on the beach, walking distance from several breakfast spots and overall proximity to everything the area has to offer.
The home is in a gated, small neighborhood which is a nice security bonus.
The layout of the house is great for a large group with lots of room to spread out both inside and out.
Tryg and Barb have the house very well stocked with everything you could possibly need and Tryg was attentive to and timely with every contact.
If we go back to Maui again, we would absolutely stay here again.
Our vacation was amazing! Tryg and Barb’s house is incredible. We own vacation rental properties. So, we know the thought and effort that it takes to make a property as great as their’s is. The view is unbeatable, the house is very well stocked, and the cove, beach, and sea turtles are steps from the house. Our group of 8 was very comfortable, and had plenty of space. Great, great place. Ten stars!
If you’re looking for an absolutely wonderful home away from home, then this is the place for you! The home was immaculate with all the amenities that you would need. The AC worked well, beds were very comfortable, bathrooms well-stocked. And we were so very happy to see that there was a regular coffee maker and a Keurig coffee maker. We were able to use the regular one for the morning when we were all up, and then people could use the Keurig as they wanted fresh coffee throughout the day. The views were amazing! Being right on the beach, we were able to see large green turtles coming to shore, along with beautiful sunsets. Did I mention views were amazing!?! There was also a swimming pool that my 7 year grandson stayed in most of the time that we weren’t doing something else on the island. Tryg, the owner, was very easy to work with and called after we arrived to welcome us. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
We had a lovely stay at this house. The turtles didn’t disappoint. My granddaughter was giving them names. They were amazing. The king sized beds were comfortable and new white cabinets very nice.Large kitchen with plenty of utensils. Nice, comfortable rooms for the ten of us. Dream vacation for all. Aloha!
Exactly as described. Nicely remodeled. Spectacular view. 5 en suite bedrooms. One bedroom is accessed from outside main house. Large kitchen equipped with everything you could ever need. Plenty of space to have multiple family cooks prepping dinner at the same time. 3 large table eating areas- 1 inside & 2 outside. Lots of bath and beach towels of nice quality. 3 washers and dryers so you could actually bring fewer clothes! Every afternoon, giant sea turtles come up to the beach below the house. Our children & grandchildren were delighted with that. Beach toys, pool noodles, and boogie boards all available. Host was easy to communicate with before, during and after our visit. Good written suggestions for restaurants, snorkel beaches, hiking trails and more. Celebrated a milestone anniversary with our whole family. Special!
5 siblings and there spouses stayed for a week. This property is true paradise. The house was clean, equipped with everything you could think of and so spacious. In a neighborhood, yet very secluded. Host was very attentive to any inquiry. Would come back in a heartbeat.
What a wonderful place to spend a week on Maui! We spent the week watching turtles, whales and seals from the pool deck. The house was clean, newly updated, and had plenty of room for our family.
Brother/Sisters and Spouses all met up On Maui for a reunion. This home was perfect for our stay. Plenty of bedrooms/bathrooms/kitchen was well stocked cookware for those who want to cook on their vaca! Sat outside most of our visit (10) days the view is stunning! Turtles on the beach day and night, counted up to 17 at one time. Private, secluded nice get away. Tryg was very nice and met us as soon as we arrived. Enjoyed the Tournament of Champions golf two days was close to venue. WE WILL BE BACK!

Hosts very nice. Property as advertised, excellent. Overall cleanliness was good. Under two beds, behind two dressers NOT cleaned for a while. Could not locate propane. Seat cushions on (often used ) seaside porch were very thin, older. We loved our stay very much. Very minor complaints.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is wonderful. Spacious. Clean. Nice. And the location is second to none. The turtles that we saw there were incredible. The snorkeling right off the beach was the best on Maui. Better than the boat tours. Loved everything about the stay. Hope to return someday.
