The condo was clean, neat, and well stocked with necessary utensils. we were met by the owners daughter, who was very nice and polite. The location was pretty close to necessary needs and activities. You do need a car to get around, but be prepared to pay excessive parking fees for visits to downtown Kailua unless you go very early. the area was fun to be active by the ocean and a lovely island. I would highly recommend this condo for small groups, especially for a quiet stay.
Lori is THE BEST host we have EVER had! When I communicated to Lori about our flight troubles and we wouldn't arrive until night-time, she offered to pick up a few groceries for us. After I declined her very nice offer, Lori put some homemade papaya bread and orange juice in our refrigerator so that we could have something for breakfast when we woke up. That along with a cup of coffee, compliments of Lori, on our beautiful lanai was the perfect way to destress after a bad airport experience. Obviously, Lori truly cares about her guests. And her place is amazing! The bed was so comfortable, as was the hammock! Everything was spotless and in perfect condition. If we go back to the Big Island, we will definitely stay there again. Very highly recommend!
Stayed with older teenager, close to a variety of beaches and a short drive to town for supplies The unit came with everything you need to hit the beach. Lori was an excellent host, even ensuring a first great morning with supplies after a late night flight arrival. We loved to use the lanai for grilling and socializing in the evening.
We had a lovely stay and appreciated both the spacious apartment, beautiful lanai and view along with. Lori's gracious hosting. The apartment was well stocked with all that we needed for beach outings and we were greeted with delicious home made papaya bread. When I left a few items at the house, Lori made sure that I got them back. Mahalo!
The home is beautiful, and perfectly located high on the hill. The sunset views are gorgeous, and the hammock on the property got a lot of use. The kitchenette is perfect for preparing breakfast and simple meals to enjoy on the very large lanai. Coqui frogs will serenade you at night, and free roaming chickens visit throughout the morning hours. There are plenty of towels and beach chairs to borrow for adventures.
Wonderful host and property
Wonderful host and property
The apartment is large, very comfortable with lots of details (beach equipment, lots of towels, appliances, etc). Lori, our host, was very welcoming and accomodating. The apartment is located in a residential community with a nice ocean view and is 10 minutes from the airport, about 15 minutes from Kona town. We had a lovely stay!

Other reviews have already talked about the property itself, which was excellent. I want to add that the location was unexpectedly perfect.
I originally picked the property because we'd be a severely jetlagged family staggering off the plane. It was a quick 10 minute drive up the hill, but it turned out the location was also ideal. If you're visiting the Kona area, you'll probably be moving around, visiting multiple beaches and sites and such. This was a good central home base.
The extra altitude made all the difference in terms of heat. We left all the windows open the whole time, and the area was really quiet.
Yep, there are coqui frogs, but they're everywhere, and honestly don't bother us. They turn into white noise from 9pm to 2am. I'll take coqui frogs over the 5am sparrows back home any day.

We loved having a place big enough for all of us. The area is peaceful and being higher up the mountain meant it was cool even on summer days. Lori is a fantastic host. If we come back to Kona, we would stay here again.

Lori's place was private and well appointed. There was fresh papaya bread available on check in as well as oatmeal in the cupboards and a well stocked kitchen for cooking! Everything was clean and welcoming. Very nice patio and great location just up the hill where it's cooler.

Wonderful, so comfortable !
Beautiful place, and Lori even left us some homemade papaya bread.
Thank you for a wonderful stay for our 2 1/2 weeks on the Big Island. The bed and whole Ohana was so comfortable. Everything was as pictured. The Lanai is expansive and a peaceful place to unwind over dinner and a glass of wine and sunset. We appreciate your hospitality and nice beach gear (Tommy Bahama chairs, beach umbrella, boogey boards, and cooler). Mahalo!
My two sisters and I spent four nights at this property. We had a wonderful time. Lots of room, great hills for me to walk, beautiful sunsets, we barbequed most nights, wonderful little local store with great pizza, and more!! Loved the neighborhood and the birds sang to us every night.
Wonderful, so comfortable !
Great host, the property was nice as could be. Couldn't ask for more, thanks.
Had a great time. Very pretty, clean , well stocked, and great location. Warm hospitality.
Very satisfied with our stay here. Will likely be back
Beautiful home, away from the hustle, cool mornings and evenings with amazing sunsets! This home was perfect for us! Coffee for days, hot bubbly baths, nature sounds, birds and frogs! Clean, comfortable and Lori was free to work with!
Our host Lori was very friendly and she gave us everything we needed. She was also a great resource for local knowledge of the island. She pointed us to great restaurants, beaches, snorkeling, shopping, and even an active volcano! The property sits up on a hill and is only a short drive from the airport (there is no noise from it though). The neighborhood is quiet, safe and is high enough up on the mountain that the temperature is much cooler than down on the coast. The house had everything we needed including beach chairs, good Internet, comfortable beds, cable (we never even turned it on 🙂), and basic kitchen necessities. Lori even kept us stocked with local coffee! Location wise it is perfectly situated to to get into Kona in about 15 minutes or to head out on longer trips across the Big Island. We highly recommend Lori and her beautiful place for a family or just a couple’s get away. Aloha!
