Nicely located, although the listing photo from the back patio is old and tall plants behind the wall now block the ocean view, so not having that view while seated out back was disappointing. To access the beach, we had to either hop the rock wall or exit the front of the complex and enter via the busy, noisy road so I wouldn't call it "direct access". The beach itself is nice enough and we enjoyed occasionally sitting and relaxing there. It did not seem too safe for swimming. There were a couple benign people that seemed to have taken up residence on the beach and a tent was pitched near the road during our stay, however, they were quiet and kept to themselves.The condo itself needs some love and did not feel amenable for just hanging out. It's very dated throughout and the bedroom felt dark and claustrophobic. The furniture in the living area is not comfortable. It's nice to hear the waves crashing through the open sliding doors to the patio, however, it's accompanied by the occasional roar or load music of vehicles passing on the adjacent busy road. The complex is quiet and a good launch point to all the activities on the island or to walk to restaurants or shopping nearby or downtown. We wouldn't stay here again, but had a good time.
My family and I had a great stay at Paulette and Marty's condo in Kailua-Kona. The condo was clean and stocked with everything our small family could need. It was so nice to have easy access to Honl's Beach and to be within easy walking distance to town and nearby amenities.
This was our second time at this condo and we love the location! You step out the sliding door and have easy access up the lawn to Honl’s beach and to see the sunset every night on the west lawn of Kona Reef condos along the waterfront. Quiet building- we don’t hear people around us at all while in the condo. Nice saltwater pool and hot tub! Marty is a very accommodating host, and he addressed a couple small things we noticed upon arrival promptly. Great communication. Kitchen had what we needed to fix meals. There is a portable fan in the living room that we put in the hall near washer dryer to send a/c to the bedroom and that worked well. I love the reclining chair in the living room. We will be back!.
We enjoyed the close beach, but really enjoyed exploring the island. The hot tub at v the v end v of the v day v was fantastic.
We had a wonderful time staying in this unit. The unit is a short walk from downtown Kona, and covered parking was great to keep our vehicle cool while not in use. The unit is clean and well-stocked. The Kona coffe and hand-written note from Marty, the owner, was a nice touch on arrival. Enjoying coffee while watching the waves on the lanai was a perfect way to start the day! Thanks!
The condo was lovely. It was clean, nicely decorated, linens were plenty and the kitchen was well stocked. The only down side is the view is somewhat obstructed. The complex is great and well maintained., The gas grills are immaculate and great to use.
This condo is a recently beautifully remodeled vacation rental in the heart of Kailua Kona, and I must say it exceeded all our expectations. The location is absolutely perfect, with stunning ocean views and easy access to local shops, restaurants, and beaches. The condo was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and well-equipped with all amenities. The owners have provided everything you will need for a very comfortable vacation. Kona Reef is on the beach, and the breathtaking sunsets and viewing jumping whales are just a few steps from your lanai.Micolyn, our host, is incredibly attentive and responsive, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was perfect. I can't recommend this condo highly enough. We have stayed at this Koan Reef condo complex in the past and will return to this particular condo in our future visits to Kailua Kona. It truly is a little piece of paradise!
Condo is in the Kona Reef which is a wonderful location within kona, next to the water and very close to town. Unit had peekaboo ocean views and was well-stocked, including lots of beach gear we could use. Listing was accurate. And owner was responsive. No issues, we’d stay again.
Great property and location. Had to travel to a different beach as there were homeless people living on the beach next to us. Place was clean and had many amenities to offer. Used the cooler, the chairs and towels when we went out. Not close for snorkeling though.
We loved this little condo. It was perfect for us during Ironman week. It was close to shopping, restaurants and the start of the Ironman race.
Great views of the beach and loved watching the sunset each night.

Great property with Honl’s Beach 20 ft away. Had everything you needed to make your stay enjoyable snorkeling gear, beach chairs, shade umbrellas, and everything you would need in the kitchen. Walking distance to all the hot spots downtown with a great farmer’s market for fresh fruit and vegetables. Highly recommend this property.
Quick walk to town. Great base location for adventures north and south. Excellent communication with host.

This property is in a fantastic location...bottom floor looking out on one of the most famous beaches on Hawaii! Pool area is fantastic, and people were using the grills a ton, and they seemed to be very happy with it. The unit itself is well stocked with everything you need: soap, paper products, beach gear, kitchen tools, ice chests. Before you go and buy things, check in and see what is there. It is a very complete package indeed. The hosts are also marvelous and are very accommodating. We will come back again and again. Thanks M and P!!!! Kev C
This is a very nice property. It is in an older condo complex that is built around a lush courtyard and pool. Our condo faced the beach and was very quiet.
Super clean. Well stocked kitchen and walkable to restaurants and shops. Saw a whale from the patio while having coffee on our first morning!
Property is great!! Does need somewhat of a deep clean but overall outstanding! Has everything you could imagine, fully equipped kitchen, beach gear and extras. You can’t beat the location.
The picture you see of the beach is exactly your view. Its right there! Everything was labeled and by everything I mean the condo has everything you need. Clearly the owners care about your experience and have taken every step to make sure its a great one. You can walk to everything from Kona Reef too. I would for sure use this condo again.
Upgrades are needed however it is easy to overlook the building shortcomings with such a gorgeous location. Right on the ocean and a fence hop to the beach. Idyllic location.

I’ve been coming to Hawaii to visit a couple times a year for over 10 years. I spend most the time on the Hilo side with family. This trip was scheduled as a romantic getaway with my boyfriend. We love the sunsets and dining on the Kona side we will do it again.

Unit was clean. Unit was old and looked as though alot of visitors had passed through. Needed a redo ,especially the lighting. Owners were cool. Nice place overall. Might stay there again but probably not.

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!! The host’s were so helpful, kindhearted and accommodating. The view from our Lani were breathtaking. Walk to town was easy. Thank you again and will definitely be back! 10 out of 10 starts 💯🤙❤️

Ended up with roaches. Called owner was told must be the ant traps because they are sweet. That has nothing to do with it, it is all of dirty floors and countertops when we got here. The light coming in at night is so bright you need block out shades. There is mold above the shower head, in the bathroom the fan is gross and floor and counter is dirty. The windows in the bedroom do not close enough to block out any noise. All in all it just needs a make over badly. Our first stay no issues other than the light and window. I’m sorry until this is addressed I can’t recommend this property. Spoke to a few other owners and they all just made upgrades, I suggest that you may want to also.

Great location! We loved how easy it was to walk to the beach and walk to downtown. We had a family of four with little ones and were able to all fit. Really appreciated having a high chair and pack and play already there making travel easier for us. We would happily stay here again!
