This custom designed Hawaiian plantation style cottage is located just steps from Poipu Beach Park and Brennecke’s beach on a quiet dead end street. It is the perfect vacation retreat. Hale Honu was just completed in September of 2014 and was designed to fit in with it’s historic neighborhood and the ancient Hawaiian Village that borders the backyard. Its location give a secluded feeling while being close to beautiful Poipu Beach. The cottage's plantation style is the perfect mix of old Hawaii while offering every modern luxury. Outside is a barbeque grilling area and a beautiful double garden shower accessible from either the guest bath or from outdoors. The open floor plan has a living room that opens up to the oversized covered lanai through expansive retractable glass doors. This allows the indoor and outdoor space to truly become one. Enjoy spending time on the spacious covered lanai, eating at the large dining table, relaxing in the conversation area or just lounging on the two chaises to watch the beautiful Kauai sunset. Ceiling fans keep the living areas breezy and cool. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range, full size refrigerator, whisper quiet dishwasher, as well as, granite counters, open shelving, and is fully stocked for all cooking and baking needs. The entertainment system includes a wide screen TV with surround sound, apple TV, blue ray DVD , as well as speakers through out the living room and the lanai Wi-Fi is included throughout the house and lanai as well as TVs in both of the bedrooms. Upstairs the bedroom has a California King bed and a private bath with claw foot tub/shower along with a window AC unit. There is also a screened in lanai/sleeping porch that overlooks the Ancient Hawaiian Village which is perfect for an afternoon nap or early morning coffee. The downstairs bedroom also has a window AC unit and a Queen Bed with adjoining bathroom which has a glass enclosed shower and access to the outdoor double garden shower.

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation! This is a beautiful location, you are a short walk from Poipu Beach and restaurants. The house was clean and well appointed with everything we needed. Beach chairs, umbrellas, all that was needed for the beach along with a well stocked kitchen, where we enjoyed cooking dinner and eating on the lanai. The outdoor showers are a wonderful experience! We saw honu everyday, monk seals numerous days, along with an evening sighting of whales from Poipu Beach! We love this island and look forward to going back and would definitely book here again if available!

We have rented many vacation homes over the years…and this was one of the absolute best! A fairly new home (but built beautifully in traditional Hawai’i style) that is well appointed and has everything you need for the beach! Located at the end of a 4-house driveway, it was very private and quiet - if you don’t count the roosters! Located literally across the road from 2 great beaches (and the turtles!) and near Brennecke’s cafe and a walkable distance to coffee shops and Poipu shopping village. Don’t hesitate - book it if it’s available!

We have stayed at this beautiful home for at least 7 years now. The house is so beautiful and cozy and has all the amenities that makes it feel like our second home. I honestly could not think of anything that would make this home better. The beds are comfortable and the garage is organized with all the beach toys and supplies you need - including a wagon to transport everything. We love the outdoors showers and the open feel to this home. The owners are so responsive and very pleasant to work with. Mahalo for another amazing stay and vacation!

This property is just as others have described. Clean and fully stocked with anything you could need. Loved the outdoor showers and outdoor beds. A block from the beach. We are from Florida and did appreciate the recent addition of A/C in the bedrooms. There are very detailed instructions for using all the fans and TVs. We went with our teen aged sons and they had their own hang out space. The absolutely only thing I can think of that might be nice is a Brita pitcher for the fridge since the tap water is not very tasty. That is such a nit picky thing though. I highly recommend this place- I would stay here again without any hesitation. The Stanges have thought of everything! Thank you!
